Well, I got 2 trading accounts but I can only use Lloyds to trade. LSE is very faulty. I tried a few times putting more fund in it but there were different problems every time and never successful. Now I stopped trying. So, it only holds my 137 shares of GROW(Draper Esprit), which I paid 800p each and it has shot up to £11 but fell back to £10 now. Unable to top up because I couldn't deposit money in the account....lol
I subscribed five issues through PB. One cancelled ( Blackfinch). 3 successful but Lloyds only received one: ASLI. Still waiting for Loopup......and PRSR will be rejected by Lloyds for sure. RHR's offer has closed but no news of the allocation yet. Maybe it will have to come to LSE too. It's a new issue. So I can't find out if Lloyds trading platform will accept it or not....lol
Yes there are benefits with two accounts, and drawbacks. I usually find my spare cash is in the wrong place when I need it. My other account is with Jarvis owned X-O, which is very basic compared to I-web, but it does the job. Slightly more expensive but I have moved a few things over because at least they seem to accept investments in everything. It annoys me that I-web and it's associates will not give any reasons why they won't accept certain investments. All I ever got out of them is that they have monthly meetings about which companies to exclude.
Haven't got my PB Gore shares yet, but got the remainder of my cash back this morning. Also didn't get 10 of the dividends that were due Thursday and Friday. Would love to know if Lloyds, Halifax and I-web all sit in the same office, or are in fact the same people. I suppose I-web comes last when they have work to do.
Thanks for reminding me adv11. Just checked and found that my Lloyds trading platform really doesn't accept PRSR. Same as when I have subscribed for Draper Esprit a while ago. I had to open a second account with LSE here. It took me more than a week to receive my share allocation. So now this PRSR will have to come to LSE too. Good to have two different accounts, no problems at all.......hehe
Like I always say, this is not affected by any markets condition and is holding up well in a big red day. But would love to see it going back to 116p though. Let's hope it won't be long now......lol
TGA(THUNGELA RESOURCES) has only just recently spun off from AAL. It's a coal mining company in South Africa. The price of coal is reaching new high day after day and that's the reason for its SP to shoot up like a rocket. I only joined the party last week after selling my long time loser VODAFONE. Seemed a good move up to now. Hope that it will continue to go north and take me to a safe high ground........ hahahaha
Last time I tried PRS we weren't allowed to own it (Lloyds/I-web etc), although they do seem to be relenting on a few these days. I would have tried the PB offer but would only have wanted it in my ISA. Loopup - I had never heard of, and didn't look any further despite the huge discount. Again, I've never come across TGA, but hope it continues for you.
GSF seems having a hard time trying to rebound but ASLI started well for the new share's first day(up 2p). I also got LOOPUP and PRS REIT but these two weren't doing so well, particularly LOOPUP. It dropped more than 32% on debut today. Lost all of the offer price's discount in just one session....ouch!
Fortunately, I bought TGA. It went up £6k a day, three days in a row. Lucky me! Friday tomorrow, I hope it won't drop too much on profit takings.........lol
Well, we don't want distant cousins getting hold of any money when we are gone.
So, got 2838 GORE out of the 5000 I requested. I've had a clearout of some low yielding quarterly payers this morning (Assura, LXI, with a few more to go when I catch up with the paperwork. Then I have added some Gore to my ISA, and ASLI, which I wasn't in until recently, with small top ups in Custodian and ICG Longbow. Just got to decide whether to buy DEC back with a different broker now. Probably left that too late, but will be watching for drops.
Got 15 dividends due in today or tomorrow. It keeps me out of trouble for a while.
Gosh, I think you are enjoying your retirement more than me! Wish you all the very best of luck with GSF. Make yourself some serious money my good man. Break a leg!.....lol
Might stick with renting, then I'll have so much more to invest in Gore. Sat on Blackpool North Pier at the moment. Some real heat in the sun. Only here for a few hours though. More than enough.
Oh I see. You better buy your home quick as the house prices are still rising....hehe
Yes, I got a reminder from Primary bid telling me that they are going to refund my subscription. Seems too many REIT coming to the market all at once. I subscribed all four of them: ASLI, RHR, PRSR and BRET, only small amounts, just trying my luck on new issues......lol
Adv11, so sorry for not agreeing with you ,how dare I.
No, think we are going to rent for now, then sell our house after a gradual move. Probably leave it till spring now.
I see Blackfinch Renewable Euro Trust have pulled their IPO today because of market conditions. Be ironic if Gore don't get their full quota from institutions.
It does seem that the hotel you were staying kind of worse than the Faulty Towers.........lol
What? You have sold your house and living in a hotel waiting to buy another one? Or are you going to buy your second home?
Hmm, I think you are trying to deflect the blame elsewhere sidi, we have all seen how often you think about adding.
Having said that I may buy a few in my ISA around 4th. October, and sell the new ones when they have reached the magic 116p. Still keeping one eye on a home with a sea-view though, but will probably wait as there only seems to be property with hidden issues on the market at the moment, ie cladding. We were staying a hotel last week and had a nightmare with 4 false fire alarms, probably caused by staff smoking on the fire escapes. On the final one, after 5am on the last night, we became involved in an incident where an elderly lady went head first down the slippery fire escape. Hotel didn't even check up where we were, must have noticed half the guests were missing.
As the matter of fact, I suspect adv11 must have bid for a lot and that's probably the reason why the offer closed early....... hahahaha
No, I am a small fry. A few £k perhaps but can't afford to buy half £m!!!.......lol
Good to see the SP staying solid. Hope it will head north soon......GLA
Fair point well made Alan, I just think it's a bit stingy when a c. £300m company has gone to the trouble and expense of engaging PrimaryBid to manage the retail offer but then restrict their allocation to a measly c. £1m whilst making c. £75m available to their City chums. Poor old sidi would have bid for half of those if they hadn't sold out lol.
Personally, I wish more people would take notice of what boxes they are ticking when voting at AGM's. Small shareholders will never make a difference anyway, and even when there is a rebellion, the company usually says they will talk to major shareholders to get their views. But below is what should happen in a fair world. -
If pre-emption rights are in place and you do decide to issue more shares, or transfer existing shares to new holders, you will need to make sure that any existing holders are offered them first. That is the purpose of the pre-emption rights.
Krusty - where would your priorities be?
Adv - I agree. Can see it sticking at 109 til 4th Oct or whenever it is now. Then as you say - will have to see what they decide to do. No doubt some will take an instant profit - its how it is. Just a question of how many but I would think the momentum will be upwards - at least in the short to medium term. Time will tell of course
I can't really see it dropping much now, unless new investors sell out as soon as they get their shares. My main problem was that once again PB now have my cash for a couple of weeks because they didn't explain it was just their side of the offer that was closing, and there wasn't time to look further into things.
Afraid a squirrel pressed the filter button on Panderman, which avoids further arguments.
I don't think the company is particularly bothered about retail investors adv11. The fat cat institutions have been able to gorge on 67,883,824 new cheap shares whilst us lowly PI's had to squabble over a measly 1,163,005 Euro's worth. You can see where their priorities lie. I'll be keeping a watch on the SP this week and dip in if it comes close to the offer price.
No problem, be careful with yer nuts.
So sorry to have offended you Panderman, I hope you get over it soon. Try sitting in a park watching squirrels, it's a great help for a superior attitude.
