Alex is CEO of one company AFAIK. And non-executive chairman and director of others.
'
That is VERY different to Colin Bird. Who is effectively the CEO of at least 3 companies.
Colin Bird has taken so many people for a ride for so long and now as he approaches 80, he is stepping down from Jubilee.
Lets see how long he can keep the gravy train going for.
Im actually impressed by his audacity and how many people get suckered in by him for so long.
Kudos.
Eg. Alex Borrelli
It is ridiculous that he is involved in so many companies. Absolutely unheard of in AIM
No it isn't
Kwadoku are you invested in glr, jlp, xtr or anything got to do with Mr Birdy?
I know I can be negative sometimes but thats purely based on frustration but I'm still heavily invested.
By the sounds of it your not invested , well why would you be if CB is the man you claim him to be.. so why not just move on and let the investers be. Happy xmas ;)
A good time of year to reflect on your investments. Colin Bird being Colin Bird. Remember he is a millionaire and will be enjoying his Xmas in the lap of luxury using investor money from his 'lifestyle companies'
Any thoughts on his resignation from Jubilee?
It is ridiculous that he is involved in so many companies. Absolutely unheard of in AIM.
I have always said that is main goal is to 'feather his nest' for full retirement once he has squeezed every penny from private investors and this seems to be becoming true. Remember he is almost 80.
Oiltap: Despite your massive brain power (NB: self-proclaimed and self-admired!), I suspect that your understanding of what is actually libellous is likely somewhat different to those learned folks who have their chambers in Holborn.
Well said kwadoku!
Well said kwadoku!
well said Westlad
Some of this anti CB posting is borderline libelous. I am not sure how the BB administrator allows these posts to remain in the public domain. We can all have our opinions about whether he is doing a "good" or a "bad" job. But when you drift into drivel like a chairman of multiple listed public companies "not having serious intentions in any of his businesses......" then that drifts very close to libel and the BB administrator should act to block this clown right now. Not sure any investor in XTR or JLP would question CB's intent? Nor should they here or elsewhere. He might over-promise in terms of timelines and might under communicate but his basic instinct on mining exploration is, and continues to be, proven.
Btw- beware of some of the posters here who always defend CB.
I have some strong suspicions behind their identity. I dont believe most people are gullible and naive to keep on defending him- i think they are very smart people (or should I say 'person') who are posting for a reason.
I think it is clear what I am alluding to..
If Im the last in a race- i may *think* i have done well- but the objective evidence is different.
By *any* objective measure- Colin Bird has been a disaster for the myriad of AIM companies he is in charge of.
And by objective measurement- SP, profitability, speed of progress in exploration etc etc
But dont worry- he will continue to dangle that golden carrot, make excuses, and continue to withdraw his tax-free salary and live the good life in UAE. You recall in summer he 'disappeared' to Portugal and there was very little progress or RNS from any of his companies while he was living the good life on his [no doubt] luxurious beach getaway. I had predicted he would do exactly that way back in April (you can check my posting history) because I understand how the Emirates works in summer, and Colin's behaviour is so predictable.
This is not a serious businessman with serious intentions in any of his businesses- in reality- he is primed towards living the last years of his life in the lap of luxury and galavanting with his horse hobby.
Thanks Kwad, but I think hes doing a pretty good job as it goes. so my 2.8 million shares will be used more towards making me money than forcing an AGM.
I think you guys need to organise yourself and put some heat under Mr Bird
Life is too cosy for him now. He is in his late 70s. Nearing the end of the circle of life. Tax free in UAE. And spinning the same tales he has been for years on here. Taking home a healthy cumulative salary over the last few years.
You should make an investors group. Only takes 5% of stock to force an AGM remember.
Does anyone remmeber that facemask company on AIM? Was supposed to the new big thing? Turn everyone into millionaires?
Despite warnings that it was a pump and dump to enrich directors- some PIs dug in- the directors sold their stock at 5-6p if i recall. Making THEM millionaires. The company has now changed its name and its now worth 1/10th of what its peak was.
Never really did much.
This was despite numerous warnings from many people.
And the directors- got away with it.
As I said- there is a difference between patience and being downright gullible and naive.
Please take an objective look at Colin Birds record on AIM
Also- what were these rumours about him operating under aliases on here?
Hi CE,
Have a read of a certain other board for a certain other company. Perhaps I should post that we have been recovering core containing solid gold nuggets across the whole eastern side of the licence area.
Hello DC,
Appology accepted, I know it is easy to get carried away when in full flood...
ATB
I Apologise CE. My experience is different, but it's not right to tarnish all with the same brush, I admit that.
Hello DC,
I almost reported your post!
My brother was a union rep for many years, as well as being a magistrate and one of the most level- headed and evidence-led people that I have ever met. Using the term 'union rep' as a form of insult is pure prejudice in my view and ranks up there with all other forms of prejudice as being unacceptable.
Having said that I did get a 500K top up earlier this morning and agree that it is only a matter of time before the true value of our assets begins to be reflected in the SP.
Exactly my thoughts. The market has missed a trick really at the moment. $1,500,000 in SFR shares, £1,500,000 in the bank as cash and then nearly 2 million quid being given to us by end of Feb with a further 5 million potentially to follow, what is not to like. Then we have drill data from the KCB which could land at any point either from SFR or our own drilling campaign. Siege payments and so on. Colin is slowly building a very nice little company.
Thanks HD,
I listened to the CB podcast this morning with Zac. Really encouraging. Interesting to see the market isn't giving us much "benefit of the doubt" just yet on the deal. £7m is approx 85% of the mcap on the day of the deal/news, but just 15% ish increase in mcap. £2m soon with the rest to follow later. So 15% slightly more reflective of the £2m but less as at the moment as we are "on a promise" I suspect. Bad time as its Xmas, but that behaviour shows a great buying opportunity. If It follows suit when we get news of the next installment or the actual cash in the bank we will see similar sp movement proportional to cash size. As time goes by and we deliver what we say we will (settle the expectation CB speaks of) then maybe we will get more up front recognition I.e sp performance, for our future projects
Keep up the good work DC ;)
I think we will do very nicely here personally.
I'm attracted to strange and weird things VB, and seeing one sided conversations I can tell what sort of drivel you are spouting.
However I will give you this, I don't understand your logic of anything on your posts. You remain invested but you continue to be unhappy with your company or (company leader) you are invested and seem to get stuck on constant moaning, which reminds me of maybe a taxi driver mentality..........everything is wrong, the world is sh*t but you have literally no alternatives and so you get bogged down on your own negativity and project it onto others. Let me just make one thing clear tho, negative posts are totally fine in my eyes, if like any other post, it is backed up with justified reasoning. You lack in that
I like you have chosen to stay invested, I like you share frustrations with management, and the current status. Unlike you I actually do something about it, I message managers, email etc exhaust every avenue I have as to what can really make an affect relaying my current concern (not just moan on a BB). All this happens in the background to this BB, I then relay if I have had answer back here or on the twitter group. However I recognise the limit of my effectiveness on the emails and the messaging and even messages on this BB. After that I then research whether I should still be invested and weigh up the pros and cons. If it shows I still should be invested, which it does, I then stop moaning. Everything I post is backed up by evidence either on the same post or for those who have been here long enough know iv referenced previously and don't have to do it every time. From there people can also draw their own conclusions.
You However I have never seen anything other than just constant moaning. No evidence of any research, and 90% of the time they are just single minded views in which you cannot see any other way than your own. If I knew you as a person in life I'd get fed up of you very quickly as well, Just sell you£600 and leave if you don't like anything here. You value winning an argument and watching the sp decline quite highly it seems. I think tbh I'm just gunna have to accept you are just one of those strange guys in life. Ex union rep maybe.
Ps none of my posts are silly, you just over act your position or deflect questions woth other questions that back you into a corner that ask you to explain your odd behaviour. I await your reply once you've drafted it several times and over compensated your lack of logic with flowery words.
Hopefully, CB will deliver our GLR much the same as his other baby, the XTR. It's been horrid couple of years or so but we are heading in a right direction now !
Some great and knowledgeable contributors keeping the flames going whilst Colin doing his things in the background....not long to pay day, you can see from recent housekeeping (fringe asset movements/sales). Look after your investment and remain positive!
ATB
Guys it's becoming bit boring now, not all of us want to hear your bickerings please.
Back to mr birdy and his adventures. Gla
DC: You do ask a stupid question, and I am unsure why you are interested. Didn`t you block/filter me because you didn`t appreciate me highlighting a rather silly post of yours? Perhaps you should keep me filtered so that you won`t have to worry getting your Calvin Kleins in a twist over someone who doesn`t tow the GLR family line.
PS: I knew that you would not be able to leave me filtered for long DC. As I`m all for patronage, please consider yourself welcomed as the founder member in the VB Appreciation Society!
Oiltap: your 23:45 entry. Way past your bedtime, for I am sure that your vast mental capacity needs much time to regenerate before you rise and shine to search again for a GLR snippet.
