Stuart, due to the current JV, I think they have set the bar. It would take a massive gamble to deal without any drill results. However there would be nothing stopping NC from taking a stake in Ggp to fund drilling.
Antigua,I disagree slightly,it’s improbable for sure,but you could do a jv which is stepped! Ie: Is if 2moz you get 50%,if 5moxz you get 30% of 10moz you get 10% etc,then also tied that into drilling spend! It’s possible,but unlikely
Sandeep Biswas also made it pretty clear in a presentation, just over a week ago, that, "....how do we bring Havieron on as soon as we possibly can, now. It depends what sort of mining we're looking at. I mean if you're looking at the grades there, I mean, again we've got to do a lot more drilling, but if that becomes a potentially a high grade mine, you could bring that on sooner rather than later..."
No one is going to do any JV at Scally before the drill hits the ground.
Even if they did the terms would be so poor Gh would be a fool to sign up. At this point nobody knows what’s down there.
Let's ask Clive Latcham if he thinks a RIO deal is a non-starter... Lol
Exactly. NCM are not exactly bundled up as much as RIO.
And the refusal only last during the farm in period, which is moving much quicker than anyone thought.
It will be a left field RNS that catches us all out.
First refusal doesnt prevent anyone else offering to buy IF NCM agreed. It would cost more that's all.
Newcrest indeed, without any doubt whatsoever, are fast tracking Havieron! That's a given IMHO! They need to urgently show their shareholders that they have something to keep Telfer operating feasibly into the future.
Not sure if he could? Newcrest JV gives them first refusal on GGP - but it's not clear if this would also mean on any JV on the Paterson licences.
I'd also not want to enter any other JV if we did not need too - Newcrest have 70% of HAV for $65million (minimum - they might spend more).
We'd be better starting test drilling Scally on our own, retaining 100% ownership. Then if GH feels he wants to do a JV, and has some good results- in a much stronger negotiating position, and could get JV for much lower %, or base the % on what is found (MRE).
I think many people need to have a much more patient approach - hold your shares and the rewards will come. ONly a buyout will bring a fast large return IMHO, but I think the return will be larger with patience - but it's a game of chance on what is under the ground - but the odds are in favour of GGP.
IN FACT i have long thought the REAL reason for Ncm fast tracking Havieton is to get the value of Telfer up ? They are fully aware of Rio and the advice given by Deutche. Maybe they would welcome a deal. How do we not know that a secret unofficial approach has not already taken place and GH could be in co-op with them. All possible?
also, if GH allows RIO to drill Scallywag and that comes up trumps....
is he positioning GGP for a bidding war, might be playing an absolute blinder here?
So are Numis, most of the instos, and a lot of current sh. Maybe they will fly home via Grand Cayman or wherever SB is.
Even the potential of Rio sniffing around should make our sp gather momentum?
Indeed! As GH stated at the time, "a large, multi-commodity...mining operation" :-)
if they were doing another j/v o deal with NCM, there would be no real reason for GGP to be in London....but RIO offices are here!
If the Cu grades are anything like Winu, Rio might consider taking out NCM's and GGP's Paterson interests with Telfer ad a bonus. Never say never, Rio was urged last year by the Deutche Bank to "move into gold and do an all share T/O of Newcrest"
Don't shoot the messenger!

The copper grades are huge from what I understood. Even higher than RT's Winu, can be?
DEFINATLEY don’t forget the COPPER
dont forget the copper!
Timber exactly we are v v undervalued at these levels hence why we’ve seen some giant buys in last two weeks in one go as institutions now have control
Of this - on mj day we saw a 750k purchase so the market is waking up to this
Newcrest know this is giant too given their way of promoting it, relying on it and accelerating drills and funding
All in all this is going to majorly surpass all expectation imo just look at the calculations Johnny Evans did recently and my additional calculations just from Haverion
Repost j Evans
The amount per ounce paid usd goes up with the bigger the resource.
A) If 7.5moz at $180, stake GBP 312m =>8.8pp.
B)If 7.5moz at $225 (more realistic see below chart and link ) =>gbp 389m=> 10.9p
A) If 9moz at $180, stake GBP 374m=> 10.5p.
B)If 9moz at 225 (more realistic) => stake GBp 467m=> 13p.
This calculation is only assuming that we get 9m oz which I know Johnny believes we will get double or higher but illustrates the Mcap of ggp
So if we get 15-20m oz which is the level that newcrest would want given that they are relying on Haverion to be their next cash cow and their global discovery
That would mean using 17.5m oz as a Median number
I) if 17m oz @ $180 = 726m GBP = 20p
ii) more Realistic if 17m oz @ $225 = 902m GBP = 25p
Now we also have v similar licenses to Haverion which GH has mentioned in scalleywag etc so this could be 2-3 bites of this golden cherry
Hold for gold 25p+ 2020
As it's been a bit quiet today I thought it may be interesting for some investors in GGP to look back a year or so, as it's surely related to the current picture.
As an example, the RNS on the 5th February 2019 (2nd drill campaign at Havieron) stated, "Results demonstrate the potential for Havieron to become a large, multi-commodity, bulk tonnage, underground mining operation". This was following the HAD006-009 assays.
At that time, in a video interview with Proactive, GH stated (My precis):
- GH doesn't understand the reaction of the market
(emails from those in industry who "understand" the results, congratulating them on the latest results)
- Beginning of journey to build very large & valuable company
- Drill holes are only "scratching the surface" of the system
- Potentially very significant system at depth - Down to 1,400m or more
- Job now to push forward and maximise shareholder value
- If it makes sense for shareholders Greatland can take it "the whole way" - exploration, development, feasibility to production, but still open to opportunities and ideas
- The key in the modern mining industry is in scale - large intervals of mineralisation required
IMHO GH is doing a great job today and maximising shareholder value under the current situation for Greatland Gold. The market is probably now catching up somewhat with the real value of GGP, but we could still, indeed, be only scratching the surface of future potential today!
