I take no offence on anyone who disagrees with my view and I will be more than happy to be wrong on every count GLA but keep it real.
Jambo, I gotta disagree.
If Haverion proves up to be a big gold mine. There is no way NC can get it hugely undervalued.
Similar to land & property bidding, if you know an asset is worth a certain value and you decide to lowball, the guy next to you will offer to take it at an better price. The cycle would continue until it reaches close to the fair value of the asset.
I seem to remember SB saying in a recent interview the NC had picked something up that was embarrassingly cheap. Can’t remember what he was referring to. Although I don’t see this as any indicator to what they could offer us if proved up. After all what he regards as cheap may well be very well received by Ggp shareholders.
I remain cautiously optimistic.
I think that Jambo is just being realistic as there is always the tendency to believe that this will fly on the next RNS and we know it never does or at least not yet. I have a significant investment here like many others as I believe that the Paterson region is going to be THE place to mine over the next few decade based on a multitude of promising prospects which are coming thick and fast. They can’t all be wrong can they?
We are supported here by an excellent CEO and there are not that many on AIM as we can all testify I am sure. His financial background equips him very well in direct negotiations and be in no doubt that Newcrest will not pay a cent more than they have to for anything which is partly why there are so successful. That it is not say that they want to shaft every small explorer but they will drive a hard bargain and what else would you expect if you were a NEwcrest shareholder. That is why I would also dearly like to see decent results from at least one of our other attractive licences to give us more leverage in negotiations and potentially more cash in the bank to avoid being a one hit wonder albeit a very good one.
At least three more years of mine life at Telfer.
"As previously announced, Macmahon plans to continue to perform its Telfer contract responsibilities. The contract is set to run until January 2023."

My first ever post, despite watching/reading for the last ten years or so and having been in and out of GGP for a simalar amount of time I tend to agree and take the view of JerseyCrew. Anything more would and I'm sure will be very welcome though.
While i agree that Hav drilling will continue into 2020, i dont think NC have the luxury of “playing the waiting game”, with Telfer at the end of its lifecycle. I think i read they had 2years worth of feed left so they will be eager to get this underway and an agreement that suits both partys will need to be made promptly.
Jambo. Nothing that I can see in NC history of deals portray them as anything other than playing with a straight bat in their dealings with other companies. They are on a global stage for gold miners - they will not want to have a reputation for shafting junior explorers that help create the seed corn for their part of the gold production life cycle. That would play into the hands of competitors for future negotiations. Whilst every company has an eye on bottom line, this is no longer the gold rush days of back stabbing in my view. If you have evidence of sharp play however please feel free to share.
As for MM games - they will react to market demand - yes they can play games to collect in short time periods which can see limit orders triggered, but sustained buying will see a rerate and for the we need the deep pockets of institutions who in turn need this farm in to have a higher level of certainty and that is what is being proved up in the background. Of course we have the other prospects as well and as part of the farm in NC have first rights of refusal - all looks very harmonious between the 2 BoD's from my perspective.
ATB for what is going to be a very interesting week.
Let’s not be positive Jambo, what a negative and depressing post . You did exactly the same before the last newcrest update .
As critically important and pivotal to the direction GGP as a company will take in the future the results are not the be all and end all. Even if up to expectations there will be more work and confirmations required from NC well into next year so still gives our MM friends the ability to underplay any true value of assets while still buried underground.
Just as important for GGP and our investment in them will be ongoing results on our other licences as this will give the board a stronger hand in any future negotiations with NC , if and when we hopefully get to a position to monetise our stake in Hav. Do not be under any illusion that NC would through buckets cog cash for our % . They will want it as cheap as possible and without other proved up assets NC may easily play for time ie: wait till GGP coffers are running low.
Still a long game to be played but good news this week will be a. Welcome next step.
Cookie hi,
I really hope when the news does come out its a blinder and then we will see the SP transform, to where I haven't a clue but some have said possibly 5 / 10p, that would do me fine, cant see 10p mind you, but you never know !!
