yes, I do know what floater means ....
I think I probably did see the film in the 70s, back when we only had the 3 channels on TV and the test card came up somewhere between 11pm and midnight
That's sooo funny, Floater, yep, funny - and brave, with a moniker like yours, ha ha, but I'm not going there, ROFL :)) Actually the film came out in 1955 and I didn't see it in the original decade - not even close, but Oliver, Gielgud and Richardson take some beating. (Look them up - they're in the obit column.)

Jet - I'm sure my Dad told me about that film - lol
TakingMyTime,
I wondered if after a decision to mine and what with the tolling costs etc that GGP would have to pay from its 30% or 27.5% or thereabouts whether in time the transportation/processing costs etc at Telfer would effectively and progressively reduce GGP's share (and of course increase Newcrests costs) if things became more inefficient with more effect being felt by GGP because we are smaller.
It all depends on size of Havieron etc, whether its tier 1 with good grades and sustainable good annual production levels for say at least 20 years and the assurance of good profits.
I am sure that Newcrest looked into this when deciding whether to try and extend the Telfer processing plant life and they may have a longer term plans for the future especially if other prospects in the area turn out to be very good.
I agree a new processing plant may not be essential at the current time (3 years+) but it may happen longer term if that were the case but I feel the topic indicated to Pis the strong position of GH in negotiations current and future.
Schlemiel, 13.06; Now you're making me feel old, cos I remember that film, black and white, with Laurence Olivier, and I'm already grumpy because it's tooooo hot today :)))) But why line 17 onwards??

TMT hi,
Nothing wrong with my Blood pressure, just pointing out the errors in his posting LOL.
Keep well !!
Tom:-)
Trucky Hi, afraid so, he does write some rubbish, talk about fools rush in !!
Selling at this point seems total madness !! if anything this is a great top up price, do not understand them at all. Can't wait until we break free of this 14p.
Hope you are keeping well too in this heat phew.

Tom :-)))))
I predict that TomE and Fenixdor will never be best mates, LOL. Why don't you guys filter each other and lower your blood pressure?
Hi TomE. I see Penix at It again. I noticed some larger sells going through, maybe people hopeing for a little drop in morning to gain a few extra shares. Other wise why would anyone sell at this stage. Hope your well TomE
FenixDor,"ridiculous " ?????? I suggest you read the post today at Today 12:57 ( not mine )
Why not compromise and build a new processing plant half way between Telfer and Havieron and then just ship the material half the distance?
Then read my post Today 13:21 and I will await your apology LOL
A conveyor belt 45km/28ml long is quite feasible, taking into account the terrain and it would be less than half of the longest in the world, to date :- https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/the-world-s-longest-conveyor-belt-system-bou-craa-morocco
He was found under a parking space labelled "R", so he wasn't completely forgotten. I wonder how much he owed in unpaid overstay charges!?
Remains found under a Leicester Car park if my memory serves me right!! They knew how to treat royalty in those days!!
Schlem, - Shakespeares hunchback king -- Richard 111 ????? if memory serves right.
Literacy as well as technocracy on the board.

@ponieexpress
Why would we push for a new processing plant at Hav? If we're going to push for something, wouldn't it be better to push for a higher percentage of the proceeds of Scallywag, rather than a new processing plant?
If it becomes significantly inefficient to ship ore to Telfer and process it there, compared to building new plant closer, that's not something GGP will be pushing for. It's something NCM as the senior partner at Hav will want even more than us. They'll be pushing us to pay 25% of the cost of a new plant.
I admit I just don't see the focus on a new plant. It's serious money that doesn't have to be spent. Sure, if there's radical new technology that slices the processing cost to 1/4 of what it is currently it might make sense, if there's enough ore in the area to justify it. Otherwise, just build a conveyor system to get the ore there more cheaply, and have done with it.
I thought you may be lol, I did think it a strange thing to say, It made me laugh though !!! LOL.

Tom :-)
What is maximum capacity? Sounds like I have interrupted a game of Top Trumps Havieron-style!
ajbennett hi,
If they went down that route why build it " half way between Telfer and Havieron and then just ship the material half the distance"?
Build it at Havieron and don't ship it anywhere !!
Shine out, fair sun.
I can't see them moving the processing plant anytime soon, it's not just the plant but also the tailings and waste water to consider. They have only one tailing heap open at the moment so other sites may have to be considered .
''To strut before a wanton ambling nymph;
I, that am curtailed of this fair proportion,
Cheated of feature by 'dissembling' nature,
Deformed, unfinished, sent before my time
Into this breathing world, scarce half made up,
And that so lamely and unfashionable
That dogs bark at me as I halt by them—
Why, I, in this weak piping time of peace,
Have no delight to pass away the time,
Unless to see my shadow in the sun
And descant on mine own deformity.''
Taking My Time,
We may be minnows for now but while we have control of good prospects we can push for what we want in future negotiations-more than what we have at Havieron.
GH is not going to relinquish that power easily and I think forget short term takeovers/buyouts and the like. He wants GGP to be Huge and Pi's must start thinking in those type of terms for the future.
Just my thoughts but I await with great interest the possible future developments/plans from Newcrest this week yet alone forthcoming drilling news etc.
Yes, marginally difficult MH01 :)
However, presumably some of the structure and equipment there is nearly fifty years old. we have always assumed on here that it would be fully functioning and efficient for the material coming in from Havieron. Like as not, a good deal of this structure has a shelf life and would need replacing/updating.
Now, if that is the case, it might be logical to re-build some of it at Havieron. I'm guessing because I am not a mining engineer!
I think the plan is to move the mine closer to the Telfer processing plant....

Haha look at the Telfer mine plus aircraft landing strip plus housing plus water plus electricity etc. Move it closer to Hav, that is very funny :-)
