Hi, longtime lurker and believer in GGP here, modest holding pre-Newmont and EG.
I am interested in how one would get a pour from Havieron? It would be nice to have a momento to a life changing event.
Hi Speedy, where's Cheshire Cheese, lived in Chester for a very long time. Must say just logged on and most posts are informative and positive not like yesterday which was very disappointed with posters all day having a go at each other. Just bought some silver brits for me better than gold when everything goes txts up think the increase will be multiples more than gold brits, my main gold hoard is in WA desert very safe underground at the moment, looking forward to first pour bars with GGP stamp on them. Ciao DM
Hi Flashy. Please do not discount silver. It will outperform gold. Silver Brits can be purchased in a bonded store and are free of CGT and VAT. The problem is the high premiums but this is overcome with time. ATB Speedy
Hi Codders. I cant drink winks. ATB Speedy
Thansk Speedy. It's just a shame I'd have to divest some funds from the ISA to buy the physical - fully in agreement on Britannias and sovereigns however. I don't see the point in silver though as no tax exemption. Cheers.
Hi Flashy. Re ETFs. They are great for trading and short term. Eventually they will close out and you will be paid out in worthless $s. The derivative market and custodial control of metals will turn out to be a disaster of massive proportions. Sprotts silver fund is good so is Gold Money .com for folks outside of the UK. For UK citizens the best bet is gold Brits. I have said this so many times that readers of this board must be getting peed off with my comments and for this i apologize, but it is worth repeating until all understand the consequences of not holding physical gold. ATB Speedy
Hi Speedy - i hope you are keeping well?
After a delay in one of my other stocks (ODX grrrr....) which was supposed to be a multibagger in a pandemic as they make LFTs, my wish to buy physical gold coins from the Royal Mint (or Atkinsons) - so no CGT or VAT, has been held up. Now, I think I now what your sentiments on what I suggest will be, but what do think is the mechanism by how it will work? Basically, I want to keep money in my ISA, which precludes holding physical gold in person. Hence the only other way to do it in an ISA, aside from GGP and miners, is the much-maligned ETF! We constantly hear how there isn't enough physical held to back up the amount they are 'selling,' and if it was called in it would be like a bank run writ large. Have you ever used one / do you use one and how do you see them unfolding if gold went up another 1-2k etc? Thanks for your time!
For anyone who is wavering on the current share price, this is my favourite read over the last couple of days, especially the quotes from Shaun:
“The opportunity here at Greatland is tremendous,”
“The decline’s going down to the orebody, and with those dimensions it’s cavernous.”
and this comparison with Telfer:
How big it will ultimately turn out to be remains an open question, but Cannacord speculates that production could run at the order of between 400,000 ounces and 700,000 ounces per year, and the talk is that Havieron could end up being another Telfer in terms of its size and longevity. Telfer is the nearby Newcrest mine, which is only now beginning to come to the end of a prolific 45-year life. The Telfer infrastructure is one reason why Havieron makes such good economic sense, since processing facilities and plant are all already in place.

Hi Codders. Bottle of bubbly or a large 12 year old single malt . See you in the Cheshire Cheese. ATB Speedy
Hi Codders. Billy no mates? You are not well researched, gold and related stock is and will be the best choice you could possibly make for the foreseeable future. ATB Speedy
Thanks for the response Speedie. I average about £1300 each at the moment so down a little but not too bad. I am waiting to see if we get closer to £1250 and oz and then perhaps buy some more. It's long term to give to the children. Keep it out the estate and try to avoid care home fees and IHT. Cash in the bank is no good so GGP and physical gold seem good.
Hi JSP. Your purchases of Brits are probably showing a loss at the mo. But over time your choice of investments will be good. As for how high the POG will go all depends on how low the $ falls and the fall will be dramatic. Measured in $s the price could go to infinity and probably will. Best to measure the POG in a different metric, hours worked /oz or cost of arable land/oz and that has not changed for 5000 years. ATB Speedy
Hate to admit it but I recommended this share to some of my friends.!
Hi Speedy. I started buying Brittanias last year. Something nice about physical gold. You seem to advocate physical gold more than most on here. In your opinion how high do you see the price going over the next 5 years?
Hi Speedy.
Do you have any view on timescales and what you consider 'short lived' to be?
Cheers
Cheers for the reply speedi, hopefully I can build a nice amount of both as funds become available. GGP is where 75% of my funds go and especially at these prices. Wish I could buy more) ATB
Hi Dillon. That is a good choice. I have been a buyer of gold and silver from local jewelers for ages. The only problem is when you sell HMRC will want his slice. New gold Brits are a better buy. ATB Speedy
I hope so I just dipped into silver coins and will continue to buy when I can. My father is a jeweller and often comes across good quality at good prices.
Hi All. For anyone that has not read and digested my posts regarding physical PMs. It is getting to the stage where physical metals will not be available at any price near todays print. The recent take down will be short lived and new highs are coming followed by highs that will take your breath away. For UK citizens gold Sovs and Brits are available at a suppressed price, take advantage or regret it. Same for GGP stock. ATB Speedy
