Robbie I do feel for you .But do you actually own shares in GGP ? Because it looks like you are spread betting or trading CDFs and in that case you will get caught out. if you do not have enough money in your account .Your trades will be closed automatically . you probably know all this. And i don't want to make you feel worse .but i would stay away from trying to make money .this way. there's only one winner like you said its never you. All the best for the future .
Stick in there Robbie. I’ve learned who to appreciate and who not to. I don’t tend to listen to the ones who put a figure on the SP. The best posters don’t need to ramp, you can tell.
Freddie, all of those you quote will not be even thought about in a years time, they were in all probability short term holders . The fundamentals have only got better since the first MRE and that was nearly a year ago, fyi I bought another load yesterday even though I said I wouldn't, but it is bargain basement prices , and yes I bought some in the 20's and 30's but I still think those will be profitable ! My Average is low single figures !
Oh come on there lenz how many times have we had bargain basement or great to buy posts in the last 8 months must be at least ten everyday , followed by well done sir
Freddie . You should know better, most of us post factual info it's up to you or whoever to interpret that however you see fit . The facts are all out there with the drill results and who we have a jv with. All those on their own tells me this does not need to be pumped, as you put it !
Correct. Predicting the next bull run since 30p!
Robbie they will never admit they have been ramping this everyday since january , always a great time to get in , the pack will always dig in and deny it
Robbie, I have been investing for donkeys years and I also did not epect this to fall so much over the last year and basically neither did any other holder or they would have sold. So don't be too hard on yourself.
The answer is to diversify amongst companies and try to limit Aim stocks to no nomre than 10% of your portfolio as most are either run by shady people or subject to manipulation and that is on top of 'normal' market forces.
Good luck and hopefully it ill all come good for you.
I found myself in a similar situation last year/early this year due to not being able to work cos of restrictions. I only sold off the bare minimum to get me through any immediate need. I ended up selling about 20% of my holding and a little above my average. I have since bought that all back plus extras from my early retirement fund. I bought some more yesterday (wish I'd known about today) and I'm happy where I am with it. Yes I'm down on both my ISAs and also my two tiny investment pots but I've now got money in the bank and my meager pension to keep me going until this turns (and it will).
Point is, only sell what you absolutely need to, to get by, it will turn around at some point, and better still, don't put yourself in the position in the first place (lesson learned here).
Hello Robbie,
I may be completely off the mark here, but it sounds as if you are not in a solid enough financial position to be investing at this stage, not just in high risk mining but in the market in general.
Personally, I'd have a minimum of 3 months living expenses (ideally at least 6) tucked away somewhere quickly accessable and safe.
I'd be completely debt free.
I'd have a time horizon of a minimum 3 years, ideally 5 and even more ideally 10.
If any of those are not met, then I don't think investing in the markets at all is wise, as you run the risk that you unfortunately have found yourself in. Time is the secret weapon to make money in the market.
ManfromU - I thought we’d rise heading towards a rerate in Dec (I don’t want to sell hence why I’m gutted)…. Didn’t expect a fall of this magnitude having first bought in at 27p - I get paid next Friday & I’ll attempt to buy some back then… GLA
When the whole market sells off you blame people positive on a great company. Yawn
Robbie2017-"Just wished I understood/knew how people make money on shares as it’s never happened for me (lost a fortune)…. GL those who are left…. (Sells will continue due to stop losses & margin calls)…."
Robbie I sympathise to a point but blaming rampers and then talking technical ie margin calls makes me think you know a bit more than you are letting on. Sorry mate if you needed the money then 10 days ago you would have got 19p. What stopped you selling then ?
GLA MFU
lol - this isn't as subtle as you think Robbie
I did my research but didn’t expect it to fall everyday for a year - this will come good in time (time being key, maybe a few more months) - my mistake was over-reaching - I never friggin learn…. A great time to buy in for those that can (no doubt they force it down between paypackets knowing most people don’t get paid until months end) - I dont understand how this has been forced down do on such potential but SD hasn’t helped by telling market to expect updates every 12weeks…
Why did you even listen to anyone enough to be in such a position. A few quid yeah fair enough, enough money for this reaction then surely you actually do your own due diligence if not on what is being said but at least the history of those saying it ;)
If this is true, isn’t there anyway to get the money from elsewhere temporarily whilst this rectifies itself.
So, you thought you'd cry about it on some pokey, little internet chat board? Yeah, right!?
Hi Robbie, I honestly feel for you, if that's truly the case, but sadly, and I'm not trying to be a smart arse here, you broke some of the most important rules of investment. Do your own research and don't listen to the rampers/derampers.
That said, if you know about stop losses & margin calls, I'm surprised at your apparent lack of understanding.
Robbie2017,
Well there's a deramp if ever I saw one.
Maybe you should stick to passive tracker funds.
Rex
PS. A little tip for you - NEVER overextend yourself. always have some spare capital so you don't become a forced seller. Simples! :)
Why do the shorters always win, if only I’d learnt to short I’d be rich - lost a lot of money here & now forced to sell as desperate for money - that’s the price of ramping to high heaven people get badly trapped/stung - actually broke out into a cold sweat this morning at realisation of the mistake I’ve made here. Just wished I understood/knew how people make money on shares as it’s never happened for me (lost a fortune)…. GL those who are left…. (Sells will continue due to stop losses & margin calls)….
