"the buyout price will not be 5p IMO"
I do hope you are correct Prospector, but only time will tell.
I just hope that those of us who originally invested in GGP some years ago now, and took a risk, will now see a fair return for their loyalty to the company through the good times and the bad!? (Personally I haven't sold a single share, even after NM walked).
Any "Buy-Out" offer south of 10p would be a big disappointment IMHO!
Most pi's had derisked over a year ago. Now is the time to compound your gains and buy more...not keep top slicing ?
BrewD0g.
Is your middle name DJ by any chance.you cant preach how much faith you have in a company and then tell people to top slip or take profit when they can haha.its completely contradicting your self
BrewD0G, serious investors don't top slice each time the SP spikes, they buy the dips. Think about it - if you have a good understanding and confidence in a company you are invested in, why would you want to keep eroding your potential compound gain?
Secondary to that. Brew dog, why would you advise people to derisk along the way when any offer (should it transpire) would have to be above the share price at the time? That confuses me greatly
GGP, as in the whole board own a paltry 6.5% of the company. Come on, stop talking nonsense of low ball offers being accepted. Not going to happen is it unless your the kind of person that likes to extract his own teeth instead of going to the dentist
MattyBoy, I tend to agree with mickey on this one. I don't think GH will let it go cheap. He will want to at least find out what the potential of Scallywag and Paterson Range East are before any further deals - that's why he is pushing forward on those assets. If it is proved that there are more Havieron like or larger deposits the buyout price will not be 5p IMO, and especially if gold prices continue higher, for the simple reason that GH will hold all the cards. The big players desperately need to expand in Pilbara.
NC can't go low ball - they need the high grade ore for Telfer as badly as we will need to sell it. Why would they p*as off GGP when it could be a beneficial relationship for many years and prospects to come.
GLA Paddy
If he proves up the resource, and say only one bidder or interested party due to feasibility of mining the bidder would go low ball knowing this surely it’s a risk.
Why would GH want a top job in NC or another Company ?..... He's the CEO of GGP ..... he's in charge, calls the shots and has repeatedly said his aim is to improve shareholder value.... convinced he will not sell us out cheap ..... Rup
Surely if proved up and good has to be worth better than 10p a share ??
Depends on what GH wants, if he got a top job and 5p a share, or would he hold out for 10p or more.
Mickey,
Totally agree, there is absolutely no parallel between CB/GH and the Ruias (who floated a Essar Oil at £4.20 odd a share, only to then spend the following years driving down the SP before (force-ably) taking the company private again for around 60p a share from memory!).
However that doesn't change the fact that we could still be taken out even at a so called "premium" for not more than 4 or 5p a share could we not? (well under what we could be worth IMO in years to come if left alone to prove up what we have?).
Whilst some on here with far larger holdings than my own fairly modest 2m shares might be happy with that, I most certainly wouldn't!
Still I suppose worrying won't change anything, and what will be will be!
In any case I'm sure we'll make money, it's just how much (and is it fair considering what it looks like we have)?
That's why peeps should derisk given a chance along the way
Matty have met gervaise & Callum and read all the RNSs?
You may feel more positive as no parallel to your example.
Thanks Prospector.
So the way I see it potentially (as Newcrest are obviously privy to their own drill results before us?) NC will know what is there and will try to get it from us as cheaply as possible (and for certainly nowhere near what we LTHs were hoping for at some point in the future) before using it to enhance their own Company's value to Rio?
Potential end result then is (as I have always feared) that we get taken out "on the cheap", whilst NC shareholders, now owning Hav, enjoy a bumper payday if bought out by Rio?
Sorry to be cynical/negative but I was invested in Essar Oil a while back now only to see we shareholders get totally robbed of the company's true potential future worth when the Ruia Family decided to take the company private again, forcing us to sell our shares at a ridiculously low price (considering their initial IPO price and future potential worth, which is obviously why they did it!! :-( )
Whilst I am in profit, I invested here for "life changing money" not just "Pocket Money" but still worry that we small PIs having taken all of the risk over the years (5 for me now) will not get a fair share of what we have?
Propsector, those waiting for the new shares to be issued should acknolwedge that the new shares are already baked into the price. Its information the market has and the price is already baked, simple efficient market hypothesis. It's also easy to calculate, MCAP prior to the fund raise divided by the shares in issue including those yet to be issued.
Good news on its way and 2.5p+ soon IMHO.
Spot on Apple, and I don't think it will be long before GGP breaks out to new level. I know some people will hold back until the new shares appear on the market, but if I were looking to get in on the action I would not be waiting for that.
MattyBoy, that event in itself would not make a difference to our SP. But the thing to be aware of is that GGP is trying to prove up their assets as fast as they can in case Newcrest makes a move on them, and Newcrest is trying to prove up their assets as fast as they can in case Rio make a move on them. What's going on is that competition for the best gold and copper resources in the Paterson is intensifying as each new good exploration result is announced.
Excuse my ignorance, but were a full takeover of Newcrest by Rio eventually come to fruition, then what effect exactly would that have on the GGP share price?
Subject to the JV terms being fulfilled, NC will own 70% of Hav (with the option for another 5%) if Rio were to become the "owner" of 70-75% of Hav, what difference would that make to us? We will have still given up the same % just to someone else.
What ever way you look at it Apple the urgency newcrest are showing is not about potential , it’s about getting a feasibility study to get Havieron to market £££
mickey, agreed but don't you think NC also want to improve value in case Rio put their cards on the tables? Fast tracking with urgency, imo,

Strong Buy
Possible interest being shown by Rio to take out Newcrest, so there may be a level of urgency to prove up our tenements in this region. imo
Four drills = fast track to proving up....there is obviously some urgency on the part of Newcrest to get ahead of any possible bids from RIO.
The fact that NC could be a target from RIO also suggests why NC were prepared to fund Havieron. They know something, which is plainly obvious.
IMO we should be hovering around the 2p by now, but that's life.

More like downright frigging daylight robbery.
2.5p more like it, imo
GH from the Newcrest/Greatland farm in RNS
“
"In summary, we are very excited about the future of Havieron and the Paterson region more generally and we believe that this agreement with Newcrest will serve as a foundation on which we can build Greatland into a large and successful business delivering significant returns to our shareholders."
You not just love this guys lol
Mickey hi,
Yes agree, liked Joe's post too. That's why I can not believe we are at the 167's unbelievable. IMO we should be hovering around the 2p by now, but that's life.
Cheers
Tom
