CB - I still hold a position in SOLG but it's not as large as it used to be. The only reason I am still in it is Mather's substantial presence (various guises) on the register. I'm sure he has a plan to monetise Cascabel but I'm not sure what that it is, and neither does the market. I'm hoping for a takeover (the whole company) of some form but when? who knows
I like you post sch
Stout
Your post is 100% correct. What has happened to SOLG is unbelievable. An explorer should find the gold price the site and then sell to the big boys and let them get the minerals out of the ground. Regards.
That's not the way the market works. What you're buying here is POTENTIAL and as that potential is slowly realised the price moves higher to reflect that progress or not as the case maybe. Once the potential is delivered and expectations satisfied, that is when the price starts to wobble as speculative monies leave the stock. You can that process with SOLG.
As an explorer GGP must not be tempted to get draw into mining...the capex demands can sink a small company ala SXX...to gain something you have to give up something and that's called dilution..for small resources companies there's ALWAYS dilution in one form or another
Where have you been the last 2 months. Move christ a long way to go for sure and 25p is a way of yet but achievable. Glh
Forgive me for being a party pooper, I am new to this share, but there seems to be a lot of ramping, hoping and clutching at straws going on around here.
Should you not wait for the price to actually move before counting the bullions?
Yes Chrisat, that would do nicely, the temptation is always there to trade a % of holding with a stock like this that moves up and down regularly 10-20 % at at fast pace but that is also the reason that it is very difficult/risky to trade, I always think that as soon as I sell any hoping to buy back lower that the sp will increase 10/20 % and never come back so on that basis I will just sit on my hands for as long as it takes, hopefully 1-3 years to see an acceptable return.
I know its half term guys so keep your phones away from your kids!
Earlier today it was apparent they had them with all the nonsense going on..
Nice to see some sensible posts at last...;)
Long and strong guys..
20p by the Autumn and Corfu for Christmas...!
Hi jonesrichard.
Yeah now I think about it.a steady increase is the last thing that happens in reality isnt it. It will be frantic rises and falls on news and the mm playing the board. I calls for a traders mind but I am useless at it. 25p in two years would do me lovely
Or, to put it another way. As a major, what would you pay to ensure Telfer can receive high grade ore for the next 10, 20 years?
Plenty to play out here yet.
Good luck to all
We'll have a much better idea once the maiden resource is done and how much Newcrest pay for the extra 5% (assuming they take up the option). Entirely possible they may want it all but, bearing in mind the other prospects, we are definitely negotiating from a position of strength. It's unlikely they'll want RIO knocking on our door
I remember twenty odd years ago that Amazon had a share price that seemed well above the lvel it should have been (according to the usual principles of share pricing). I seem to recall having around £1k in Amazon and sold the shares for next to nothing profit. I wish Id kept them!!
Here, it seems to me that the pricing very much reflects what is anticipated on the strength of exciting exploration results known and intimated.
25p in a year though? Id love it but I cant see it either. The balance would be a little too much in favour of speculation rather than bank balance. My total guess and hope would be for 8 to 10p
Surprised it didn't push up again today but steady rises can be seen so no concerns regards 6.15 finish Friday my guess
It all depends upon continued drilling success at Haveiron; positive drilling from other targets; possible disposal of non-core assets and at what price; what Newcrest might want to pay to Haveiron; possible JV's on other targets; price of gold etc etc etc
It's a stretch maybe at this moment on time but I wouldn't discount it longer term
I agree Chrisat, although it doesn't have to be slow and steady, would obviously need some big news and for it to keep coming regularly throughout this year then we could hopefully see similar days to the one that Tertiary Minerals (TYM) had today (+ 325 % up today)
For those that believe we will be at 25p at the year end.thats 1/2p a week every week till the new year.
Asking too much I think.
Steady progress will be nice though
Day tomorrow with gold prices helping the cause....
