So much damage has been done to oil and oil shares in a way this is what the market needs. It’s a case of careful what you wish for- trump and the market have bullied oil for years so let them have low oil prices..... and see how happy they are when it takes the economy with it: which is what will happen. Genel aren’t being paid anyway regardless of oil prices, They have a war chest not many others have, let them take oil to single digits and then the market will reset once shale goes bust. Genel should hopefully come out the other side
Bunks....what do you expect when the boss (H) goes AWOL!
play nicely Hasiba.
So, o.p holding up for now this evening but what happens from tomorrow? first day of the 'let's flood the market' threat.... Any ideas? Trump's priorities are difficult to call, even unbelievably in the current climate, I think he might actually have the op price war deal fairly high up the stack..... I am not complaining but it highlights what a complete "anker he is.
Any thoughts, the Saudis will drop crude to $15 in a heartbeat one morning to highlight the point.
GLA
“This could be 50p or 120p next week” .......REALLY
Keep going matey..! IT can’t get any worse..
Made plenty of mistakes Hasiba. Sold out of TLW at a loss and got out of PDL a while back relatively unscathed. Genel has always been a serial disappointer, something always drags it down- but I like the company and prospects (not sure why but good balance sheet and promising assets/ cash flow!). Hur good luck hope it bags and then some- don’t like it but as you say my record isn’t great
Could be correct Boyo. Hit 95p easily this morning. Seemed to drift on no volume. If the market wobbles then this never has any trouble following downside as you know. Just can’t see any catalyst that’ll make a difference with oil at 20 and no payments. This could be 50p or 120p next week but what’s going to make oil go up anytime soon?
Hahaha
Leem1
You went long on tlw,pdl and Genl then sold all and made a fortune..eh
Don’t risk going short on HUR ,you might lose your underpants....and I am serious here..
You must learn from your mistakes and I genuinely feel sorry for you.
You come across as Dodger described you!
I agree about 90p Leem. It's finished the wrong side of that and drifting down :
https://invst.ly/qaqlh
Not especially promising for tomorrow....
Genel is a proper company, issues and all. Hurricane is a sack. If anything I would short it but don’t don’t dabble in that sort of stuff.
Weak finish here today, never likes holding on to gains- was strong this morning, GKP held up a bit better. Looked like it wanted to cling on to 90p but drifted
Leem1 “ Hasiba what’s the attraction of HUR? ”
Hasiba: The astuteness of the management like Genl...
:)
Added the “noisy neighbours “ GKP to other holdings
12317 shares
Hasiba what’s the attraction of HUR? They have some cash but with oil prices here they have limited time to accumulate cash to satisfy the bond debt? No GWA success so current value based on Lancaster EPS only? You can say the same for most oil companies currently but I see the cap of £215m as pretty full. Wondered why you like it- can’t say it looks that appealing? Sorry for going off topic but oil related
Cont...and may re enter GKP again...
Holding loads of G and looking for 130p+ when oil price plays its cards right..
Ftse is lagging Dow by more than 7% so a lot to catch up...
Ftse will be moving upwards with a few bumps..but positive from here ..
I believe we have seen the bottom of the market..
Time to dip in stocks now imv..
Added jog to my holdings today ..
Important to remember that it’s now survival of the fittest in the oil sector now. Payments are the risk/ elephant in the room but Genel have probably the healthiest balance sheet of any oil company (happy to be corrected)
indeed you did.
Everything fizzling out today, ftse, o.p, G, GKP, DNO the lot - so predictable, it'll either collapse with the US -229 currently or pop back up, I know which way I think it'll go
Yes Hasiba - I explained why too.
Trends are much more useful as an indicator of change rather than as a predictive tool. This is primarily because they reflect what has happened previously, so when the sp breaks through one it suggests that the direction may be changing.
Here’s G on a 5 minute chart and the trends it has followed for the last week or so:

Here’s a closer look at today:

Boyo...post yesterday at 08:38 ....“Not interested above 70 for sure.”
Boyo post today at 11:32 ... “ I bought a few before the close”
(When share price was around 84-85p)
::::))
Not easy to time or second-guess at all, Whitehat.
Having said earlier in the day that I wasn't interested above 70p, I had to accept that the market was moving very differently.
The clue came very late in the day - and it was hardly convincing:
https://invst.ly/qaldt
On this 5 minute chart G had moved out of the falling blue trend in the morning - just levelling off perhaps - but later started to follow upward red. I bought a few before the close. Will it continue with red? Unlikely imv but worth a punt as I'm in profit.
Whitehat - perfect timing is impossible , if achieved it's pure luck imo. NIce work - can see this rise getting sold into based on the previous pump. I think there is no smoke without fire, something is going on in the background, they're sending signals with all these Dir buys.
Remember getting my first dolby digital TV with Ronin and Heat DVD's - the neighbors were not happy ...
Whithat...”profit is profit”...and well done
I did this with fxpo before but could have done much much better if I didn’t sell then..
But as long as you came out with profit then it is a successful strategy..
No one can time the SP or market movement accurately ..
Then still many opportunities abound with current seemingly cheap market in many sectors..
That’s what I mean bunks- they aren’t throwing money into this for fun, they seem pretty confident
Nice to see all 3 up in unison 9, 10 and 11% - Nechirvan Barzani has been spotted doing a 'Heat' style Lebanese bank robbery before being banged up for breaking quarantine rules ....
Knock yourself out Leem, I agree re director confidence, they certainly won't be giving it away would they.
Leem1
Give it a rest today...
You had your day with your mates yesterday...
