Total builds on Brulpadda success to herald new era for South Africa
“When you look at the fundamentals, you can see a scenario where there are a number of significant, relatively underexplored basins and many of the play fundamentals are present in these places,” he said. “We see that there's a lot of scope for exploration and significant potential.”
That interest has been illustrated by the recent activity by the industry, which has seen a significant amount of seismic capture and blocks being taken in Namibia and South Africa. “Much of that activity is early-stage, so 2D or 3D,” Insalaco added. “What we will see in the next few years is an uptick in reservoir drilling and exploration.

Jimarillo - I would not rise to the bait !
You and Marmited are doing a sterling job here posting research, it's clear Namibia's time is coming, the Majors are turning up with their drilling equipment & Global Petroleum is a "penny share" :-)
Maersk Drilling results presentation Wednesday may get a steer on the sequence of events for the Voyager
https://investor.maerskdrilling.com/
Posting an interview that is ten days old doesn't make it any less important and many people will not have seen it, including myself as to my interpretation that is my prerogative and if it conflicts with your thinking you should be challenging it on the ECO bb.
However you can't do that, as you are deramping there, as well as here. I note that you don't post there anymore under the guise of noix since I highlighted you as a paid deramper
Things have been warming up forever according to your posts, Jim. By your lights they should have boiled over by now.
See you're back on the ECO boards, posting 10 day old news as if it were just out and placing your own interpretation on it. The fact that your interpretation has no connection to what has actually been said seems strangely familiar from this board.
Two drillships in Walvis Bay currently,. We know about the Voyager, but the Deepwater Orion (formally the Ocean Rig Poseidon) see a new contract soon

Gils quote last Monday 18th , of farm out/corporate news within 3-7 weeks, sounds like he is expecting news ahead of the spudding of Venus 1
Things starting to warm up imo
J, The PDF at the bottom of that link provides additional info, the project started in August with drilling activities expected to start in the first semester 2020 out of the Luderitz port so all eyes for when Bourbon heads there. I presume it will arrive prior to the Voyager ?

I like the bit where it states Namibia seems to represent great growth opportunities for many oil companies..
(Some of us know that already!!!!!)
Maersk Voyager to drill VENUS-1 isn't it?
Total QP and EXXON
Deepest well in Africa
This link just mentions Namibia not Angola
The two of the three Bourbon vessels have already been conducting their DP trials with LSS last week and now LSS will be working with the Voyager cleaning/emptying tanks, loading supplies, well heads and pipe etc
Venus 1 will be the deepest well yet drilled in Africa and will be over four weeks to drill imo and take us into 2020

Maersk Voyager due into Walvis Bay today , will prepare for it's next well
The question is , will it turn left or right when departing the Bay ? ;--)
I was looking at ECO as an opportunity to jump on board but climate change v acid rain causing high sulphur heavy fuel has somewhat put me off. Quite gutted..feel for investors there.
Indeed, some arguing over the decimal point, however from the link, quoting on ECO's discoveries says c.5%, which means circa 5% , compared to Exxons Lisa 0.5% sulphur content
Tullow and Eco not handled this very well and looks like they will be hit further on Monday. Eco's director buying on Friday is like they are digging a deeper hole
As you say M, Eco will be looking more at Namibia, which is now the number one hot spot lol
Not looking good for TLW/ECO in Guyana... Even bigger shift to Namibia coming?

Maggy Shino won her category at the Big five Awards tonight, obviously being commended for bringing in Majors and helping with upcoming deals and wells within the region
