Gear4music Holdings (LON:G4M) trading update today with a profits warning. SP down 11% at the moment. Share price down 87% in 12 months. Suppose it depends if you believe in the power of online retail in the long term. One thing I recall is the value of assets which provides some safety, and the fact that it's a well managed company. Think it's a cautiously good entry point myself for the long term.
Whichever way you look at it - this is a profit warning.
Ridiculous valuation for a well run growing company. Profitability of all retail companies is under pressure with a declining pound, consumer confidence and high freight rates but this is one of the survivors and it will increase significantly in value as soon as sense returns to retail stock valuations.
PS freight rates are now 50% of last years cost
EBIDTA 9m, MC 22m. Crazy markets.
Fake company ?
???
I bought too early here at 260 and caught the falling knife. But I do believe in the business and will average down if it does around the 130 level
I bought too ea
Very true. This literally a very sound company. Playing all the right notes.
This has the potential to go back to $10
True ggrantsu but there are a lot of shares looking cheap now, even ones which have had excellent news (e.g. AGL). This one has attractions because it has demonstrated a tendency to race much higher, very quickly, more than once. Economic outlook seems the grimmest it's been for a long time, analysts obviously see very difficult times ahead. Everyone feels more comfortable having cash in reserve, which just adds to the sell off and exaggerates SP movements. 180 has been the floor here a few times over the last few years, but it's dipping below that now, which shows the angst of the market. I'd be surprised if this is the bottom, but historically it seems likes a good time to buy.
it's an interesting share this one. surprised more people are not following. sell-off has been absolutely ridiculous given the relatively minor step down in profit expectations/revenue. would be good to get more chat going on this board...
I added again today the price just seems ridiculous given the fundamentals and the opportunities. My purchase appeared as a sell on here not sure why?
He sold 1.65m in December, so buying 50k is a small bet. Still might be a good indicator though: he sold high, bought low?
Surprisingly no reaction to MD buying 50k
This company has been unfairly oversold.
Check out their investor website.
still a long way to fall yeg
My buy just now of 2.04 showing as a sell! Seems pretty flat here at the minute so even more surprised to show as a sell! Wide spread however on HL so could explain it
CEO sold 1.7 million shares for £12m (at £7.30) to institutions in December.
He's better at selling shares than gear at the moment
Yes look at the chart since last update, inflation pressures were already priced it but MM decided to drop it 30% more today should see £5+ Shortly IMO, moves fast both ways
Generally quite illiquid, but looking at buying vs selling today suggests a big seller, Lionstrust were adding at £4 just 2 weeks ago and £7 a few months back,
Slight profit warning due to wider retail for H1 but competitors would be suffering the same IMO, complete steal at £54m ...just a 5x multiple (down from 12x from the January expectations which were missed by £1m)
Should be nearer £4-5 and back over £10 in longer run once supply chain fixes itself IMO
Sitting duck currently
Just bought in, been watching this share for months. Surprised to get this price. GLA
Just bought a load, new to this company although watched for a couple of years but this is well overdone, opportunity appears, money to be made here
Agreed Micky
I topped up today after looking at RNS.
AVG. 445 gbp
They missed revenue by 1% and ebitda came in 1m lower than expectations (12m vs 11m as announced in january TU....where SP was still around £6), somehow drifted down to high £3s.... and MMs whack on another 25% today?
Way way over done IMO
