Agree we can't count our chickens and that we need to be cautious. But the shift in GGs language, which we can all observe, shows material progress. It would benefit the GG to wrap this up on the pronto, as they need breathing space between now and the elections, time they need to rebuild their reputation/ cred.
Keep thinking, imagine where we would be by now if the GG hadn't been p-155ing around after the Arbi. What a waste of time, energy and opportunity.
I have frequently drunk copious amounts of Cognac, however I always reach contentment before capacity..
Can’t beat the quiet life these days..
No - just dropping my daughter off at the Morrison's next door for a night shift.
Absolute pandemonium - but sadly someone got hit with a bottle and is quite bad.
Drinking - IT'S NOT BIG AND IT'S NOT CLEVER
ZIb, they often translate as “mines” and the crude often translates as “ ore”.. nothing devious methinks..
Zyder, hope you didn’t get involved..
Too many cameras these days...
Think the line in the sand has shifted. Even if GD get back in, the damage has been noted by the US and they will have to tow the line.
Just an observation. I've never heard of oil wells being called mines. Is this another negative message being sent?
Mines tend to be deep dark holes. Wells, we think of as Texas tea gushers...are the GG calling the wells mines so as to reinforce the negative or am I stellad and over thinking things lol..
Massive fight in my local tonight - glad I'm teetotal - well teetotalish
ODR I agree for sure if they say the right things they will need to let us sign seal and deliver on the deal very rapidly i.e pre elections or thats just going to fail as a GD strategy
Aurora some lads in England are really spaced out, as well as the pints.
It's good that the GG are now courting us of course, in response to the political pressure despite winning the arbitration, but words are meaningless. Frontera kept banging on in the arbitration evidence that the GG had constantly obstructed our progress. What would be no good now is that the GG say all the right things, to get re-elected. Then they can continue to screw us. We need regime change. Zaza knows that that is our way forward. If GD get voted in again then the obstruction will continue. This, despite the arbitration loss, is why he is playing hardball. He is right in so doing. The strategy seems to be to defer the 27 July asset loss somehow and then work with a hopefully different regime.
Thank God we are still alive and Zaza's last ditch strategy is keeping our head above water.
Fingers still firmly crossed.

Hi Chris
So we always used to say this is a binary share. Now I think its binary for a different reason. The GG can now pick one of two directions. Either keep going with there lies and propaganda and the battle of words continues right up to the elections and hopefully the G people will see through it and vote west. Or in a face saving exercise take a U turn give Zaza what we want allow the deal to go ahead and shout from the rooftops how great they are bringing 10B record investment to the country.
Very interesting few days weeks and months ahead guys
hope all you lads in England are enjoying the pints spaced out nicely :-)
cheers Aurora
Arsenal ,
Oh i agree, its just another positive step. Time will tell if it means anything.
The main positive for me atm is the 9th day of not hearing from Zaza after about 10 interview in 18 days ish.
We think they want to give the 1% back . Zaza said we retained all the producing fields in the arbitration which might or might not equate to 1% , for me that has to equate to more than 1% but thats a guess .
The GD dont want Zaza going back to the media, they actually requested that.
Zaza asked them to stop the "lies" too.
There has to be a compromise here. We need a 25 year PSA, we need the asset move to be rubber stamped , or a deal with Hope which we seem to be closing in on if necessary.
News next week ? .... probably.
A statement like this is made to be heard by many ears indeed ! Friend and Foe :-)
CF & Gipps
Still a bit of caution needed.
Agree though that wording in that statement does point towards a positive outcome.
Excellent points there CF, would he have come out with that if they were about to **** on the company from the United States that has been the biggest investor in Georgia over the last 23 years ?
They have already said we can keep the 1% under certain conditions , they surely are working through those conditions now.
Perhaps these comments are en route to a positive resolution for FRR. Certainly, words will mean nothing if that is isn't sorted and the 'what' that is required to be sorted is no secret.
What these comments show (at least, to me) is that visibility of good relations with the US is important for GG/ GD in terms of their domestic population/ electorate. And, as we haves seen, FRR/ ZM have access to the media to put the record straight, if needs be - as they have amply shown already
PM has been sniffing glue ! Sounds of desperation....
According to the Prime Minister, he is proud that the Georgia-US Strategic Partnership is at the highest level today.
"We have made significant progress in key areas and have taken our cooperation to the next level, including defense and security, as well as trade and the economy. The ties between our countries are getting stronger day by day. At the same time, we see even greater potential for trade and economic cooperation with the United States. The government will do its best to attract more American investment and company to Georgia. In parallel with the fight against the invisible enemy, we have challenges in Georgia related to the protection of our statehood, the de-occupation of our country, the protection of the rights of our citizens and the revival of the economy. That's why we know we can't relax, we have to deal with these threats, "said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister of Georgia would like to thank the new US Ambassador Kelly Degnan and the entire team of the Embassy for their support and efforts.
"We have a new US ambassador to Georgia this year. I would like to thank Ms. Kelly Deganan for her efforts, as well as the entire team at the US Embassy. Georgia and the United States are reliable and reliable strategic partners and allies. I am sure that at a time full of these challenges, the ties between our nations will be further strengthened. On behalf of the Georgian people, the Government of Georgia and myself, I congratulate you on Independence Day, ”said Giorgi
