The arbitration panel will make their decision on the facts and if one side is economical with the facts/truth they will come off worse. These paidfor right wing senators will know little.their main interest is regime change ,with elections not too far away .There is plenty of evidence of a turn towards authoritarianism just like in many areas of the world but the us is not motivated by democracy just self interest .Dangerous times for the georgian people if one corrupt oligarch president who lost the popular vote in a two horse race decides to deal with another oligarch . Best to ask the kurds how genuine the us support is .
Georgian people are caught between a rock and a hard place .
remember that the active sides (gas plant and producing wells) will need constant attention.
Therefore, just on a HSE level GG would have to step in and provide operational support or the gas to several villages would have to be switched off (in winter?). Do not read too much into this.
Free: I had also had that thought about GOGC staff taking over operations if all the FRR staff had walked out and, if that is the case, it doesn't take too much embellishment to get to "confiscation of equipment".
Too many don't knows.
We heard about 50/50 split with Georgians.
We think we know employees walked, or fired. (But who fired them, if so)
Someone needs to run operations...if not BH boys, then it makes sense it would be gogc men.
If so...has that turned into something else.... the confiscation of equipment
We just don't know.
A congressman standing up and saying that, does not sound good.
We have agreements. Let's hope the rule of law is in our favour.
If Russia gets fined billions, and pays, so can Georgia.
Morning,
All possible- the best hope is now everything is out in the open the calmer, cool heads talk behind the scenes and reach some type of compromise.
If they really are poles apart and the Georgians have gone down the Russian route then the intervention of US is critical but don’t expect a nice outcome as this whole thing has become a central part of a political story and as we all know once you become the story rather than simply part of it becomes much harder for compromise.
Whether Congressman’s intervention is a desperate last attempt to highlight issue using emotive language and personal attack or simply ratcheting up of pressure we will soon know.
Don’t want any comment by FRR as we know it will most likely pour petrol on the fire or be construed as such and surely the arbitration is independent but sure we will find out doon
listen to the video Olsen says
"government took over all their operations all their equipment"
Morning All,
PJ, As far as I'm aware, Hope has nothing with which to do a deal?
Bezzy
Where and who says we've been kicked of the asset?? While the arbitration is ongoing??
Maybe they've been floating around undrilled sites but not oil surely.
If that's thats the case hope has done a deal with Georgians and with Russian backing!
