The last post, is what relates to the employees from the interview & bits do seem to have been slightly lost in translation.
Overall though going on the interference Frr have had from GOGC/GG then I would say that they have a good bit of the blame for anything owed to ex employees. Would also say that I do not think that the employees are helping themselves in some ways, if they are owed any wages.
11) Ask about the payroll debt you have accumulated in Georgia. How long has the extraction work been suspended and how much debt do you owe to the employees?
"Some say 11 months, some say 14 months, some say 8 months - none of these figures are correct. There is some debt to some employees for a few months. The
company was ready to sue the state without a lawsuit showing a very bad angle.
Georgia in terms of investment attractiveness.
As if the government had agreed to all of this, negotiations have been going on intensively for the last 4 months, perhaps even more so, even when we were negotiating with the state, we did not ask those employees to resign in the hope that we would sign the agreement and continue our usual routine.
But at the last moment, the state refused to agree. Because of this expectation, when we didn't ask employees, we owed them debt.
Also, the state does not pay the VAT we collected. It must compensate for the paid VAT, which is already several million.
Because of all this [the employees] have created this situation. However, we have long been offering our employees the option to repay the debt they have for several months. But here, too, in some cases, the state, in some cases, other people associated with the government, are announcing these people and calling for action.
still have not signed up for this staff to the agreement, which resulted in the need to start for several months to make payments, but the Ministry of Economy and some MPs to encourage them not to do that. "
maybe he could make it nice and easy for us and do one on LSE, in english!?
lmoa
ZZ think mentioned there might be a few with a few months pay still to be resolved, but also something about Frr paying back some tax for them.
Will look through translation of Interview again
ODR - I have posted a few articles from this site and following on from your comment I did a wiki search and found this comment on the newsites wiki page -
"As Russia's foreign policy tool Regnum has been instrumental in encouraging opposition to energy independence plans in the Baltic states"
So you may well be right.
If you read further down Chris's article it appears another, British, company Georgian Manganese is having a similar problem with workers.
Thanks for sharing Chris.
This is odd as Zaza admitted the employees were owed in his interview, and was also reported as meeting the employees before they downed tools.
This is a Russian media outlet isn't it? Maybe its the Russkies placing false news to try to aggravate the situation?
Thanks Chris
"such a statement was made by the enterprise’s press service" - Tim at Flagstaff?
I know some on here have reached out to him about FRR without success. Not sure why they didn't issue such a statement when this issue was first made public. Hopefully it's another sign that matters have been settled / clarified so the company can now clarify its position.
Frontera Resources employees deny debt to Georgian residents
TBILISI, February 19, 2020, 11:27 - REGNUM A branch of the US oil and gas company Frontera Resources, operating in Georgia, has no wage arrears to its former employees. Such a statement was made on February 18 by the enterprise’s press service in connection with a protest rally on its territory in the city of Dedoplis-Tskaro.
“We urge the participants of today's uncoordinated action to act within the law. We are also contacting the relevant departments to ensure a safe working environment, ”said Frontera Resources.
It is worth noting that former employees of the American company are demanding the payment of wages, which, according to them, are indebted to Frontera Resources. They also demand the reinstatement of 84 employees who were fired for such demands.
