"With #Gold at all-time highs, #Silver is just following the roadmap (as it should)."

Gold well above $2,200 and FRES languishes in the mid £4.xx. Too many better opportunities out there. Is Gerald Ratner still around???
Let's see if they make me eat my words :)

and a blue mega breakout on quarterly time frame."

Well, I enjoyed your gallows humour quip, fog. Have a recommend :)
Last year the profit above costs margin on silver was $6.50 per silver ounce. Silver contributes 50% of Fresnillo profits when adding on zinc and lead. At $26.90 an ounce the margin is up 50% or 25% increase in gross profit overall. Gold the other 50% is already above 6% on increased revenue going back to 1 January and is adding 30% profit at the annualised rate. The overall profit line may still be under 2022 levels, but is way above the figures seen in 2023. The off set is further appreciation in the peso, but that would need to be higher than what has occurred in 2023 to cancel all the increased profits. If the Mexico peso continues to appreciate it would smash up the Mexican economy and would decrease company profits for tax purposes and the Government would also run into fiscal difficulty. The central bank in Mexico is likely to cut again in May. The first cut at 0.25% had no impact and is still collapsing growth in the Mexico economy.
Where are those days that Fres would climb 50p or more a day? LOL! They will return, for sure!
Fogthemogg, I hope you are kidding. 56M Oz annual silver production, with the silver price increasing from 25 to 50, gives 1.4B USD extra annual profit, before tax, etc. Also, what value would you assign to 2.2B Oz silver resources, at $50?
According to my regression model, on a very conservative basis, $50 silver for the next 50 years should get us back to 600p.
When the seller is finished. We had relatively high volumes since the beginning of March. What was suppressed will overshoot.
A lot of miners have started to move but FRES stuck in it's lows. Doesn't seem right to me. At what price of silver does FRES start to rocket?
Afternoon all. Just bought in here today. Looks like we can build from these historic lows. i was in at £6 some time ago and got ut at 9 and 11 quid. £ 6 to £7 from here could be a very realistic target within 6 months
I think it's just the MM's looking for volume. For the moment the bottom around 435 is still nicely intact.
Well they stepped on that quickly :)
Another new ATH for Gold coming @2,244 IMO so that's at least $25 for Silver.

Almost like you caused that rise Bu gg er, but I see the report timing would suggest not!! Thanks for posting anyway.

"Gold had a historical breakout 12 weeks ago.
Silver is now in the making of a similar mega breakout.
Posted on the gapfill as probable turning point for this ratio, and it was.
#silver miners should start to outperform just about everything."

Moggy, friend. Should i be loading up on this one? I'm not a holder just yet, but this does look to be a good opportunity to get in on. Mind you, JMAX is invested and is a wild man. Sold Tullow shares at 37p and bought back at 32p. Can anyone give me some positive news?
Hi Tony, if they meet forecast 18% revenue increase, it will mean extra income of $500m over 2023. This would finally put the small -ve cashflow last year of $40m to bed and turn it into $500m cashflow surplus if they are able to keep the lid on costs, exploration and capex as per their forecast.
H1 will prove this. Still quite a wait until the results.
Yeah, I put that chart out weeks before anyone else ;)
Won't be long - GSR still at 89.5 .....

String of initiatives now getting underway within Fresnillo. Should also improve safety and productivity. Hopefully all the on-going investment and improvements will eventually work through. Management were on the right track in the annual report.
An error in my earlier analysis. Exploration went up from $182M last year to $190M this year, as I misread the figures. Capex overall down $40M in this particular year as last year was really heavy investment. Current forecast is revenues to increase 18% earnings in 2024 over 2023 as an average from the analyst coverage. Efficiency gains should recover general inflation rise in year.

"pm stocks have acted similarly to biotech over past two years, basically been very neglected."
i understand your sentiment, but neglected implies it was somehow unjustified. pm miner earnings have been absolute dog****, fres in particular, hence smart money sold or stayed on the sidelines. we need big money buy-in to return to the glory years.
I agree, lots of upside. I owned this share a few years back, then sold out barely breaking even, but at this price, it's very tempting. I see Stanley Druckenmiller has moved some assets into precious metals and started selling off some tech stocks.
PM stocks have acted similarly to biotech over past two years, basically been very neglected.
