Every Thursday will sell out and spill over to friday due to no ATC not flying on Thursdays
It operated on Thursday it was full please check flight radar 24 data history
Air Tanzania do no fly on Thursdays
@fastjet your flights out of Mbeya suck, 2nd time am getting caught in this canceled and over booked flights. U even don't inform pasengers
Thurs apparently did not operate resulting in Friday's being full?
@fastjet to offer triple daily flights except Saturday on the Harare-Johannesburg route. HRE-VFA to increase to 5 weekly starting 01JUL17
87% load factor would be VERY challenging to achieve, however, I like the ambition. As I've said several times before, I really think Nico should start publishing monthly pax stats. I can understand why he would not wish to have done so during the restructuring, however, this is nearly complete and would give some insight to shareholders as to how fastjet is performing.
Hopefully not too long until H1 results published, will be disappointing if they come out at the end of Sept!
Not much left in the way of cash reserves, only a few months if the current operation conditions persist. However, with Solenta behind fastjet, I wholeheartedly disagree that fastjet is finished. Yes, high risk of further dilution later in the year, but still optimistic that this airline can succeed in the long term!
On its way
buxton1, thanks for that, hopefully today will be a repeat of yesterday.
Hillwi it was the same yesterday completely sold out.I checked it left on time and returned on time
Obviously we are only operating the one flight a day but Nico said to manage the cash flow he needed 87% load factor
I wonder if the DAR-MBI route is completely SOLD OUT in both directions today, or if the flight is not operating for some reason or other. It is unusual not to have 1 seat left in at least one direction on this flight. I will check it out later today and hopefully find that the flight is operating.
Nice to see a couple of positive posts for a change. Thanks guys. Let's hope we can build on those loads.
JNB - VFA Thu 8th both also sold out.
This route has been sold out both on Thursday and Friday this week granted we are only operating the one flight a day
Looking more like FastJet will become FastFreight at this rate....human cargo just doesnt pay the bills
I am sure Africa must be smiling though, knowing that the old Empire has been gladly subsidising their air travel, and probably laughing that these guys thought they could be a Pan African low cost success....not as easy as they thought...
Hein Kaiser in the media and marketing mix....
TW deramp on the back of news "going to zero blah blah blah"........ talking of Greece, theres a big Greek fella who wont see that happen.
This is the bottom 'HELLO' .....
well we have clocked up 5 years of wait and see. It's a resounding failure.
The end December figures are five months out of date.
We will know the end June figures in September. Nico has the absolute detail of five months of the half year. He has stated that the company is on course to hit targets in the fourth quarter.
He knows the current position and we do not. I am happy to wait and see.
According to the Chairman of the board of Fly Africa Zimbabwe, within the next month the airline is set to resume flights.
The situation is indeed sad. I hope Fastjet don’t go to the wall. The market would miss them. The exercise has been example of ‘how dry can you squeeze an orange?’ Well, almost to the pips in this case. Big juicy thing reduced to a husk. Look back to those glorious days, the Captain, silk scarf fluttering in the wind, flying goggles on, hand on the joystick. Cleared for take off on runway 9. Bandits at 12 o’clock high. The plane lurched into the air, lost altitude, the Captain bailed out just in time to parachute back into Surrey. He is now sitting in a restaurant saying ‘ You do realise how difficult it is to start an airline in Africa . I have experience. Let’s order some more wine and I’ll tell you all about my new African idea. It’s called FastHovercraft. I got the idea from some poster on a web site and ……………….
I think Solenta will keep this afloat. Unfortunately they are likely to take whatever works in this operation into their balance sheet for crumbs. I do not think us shareholders will see any reasonable pay out, and possibly nothing at alll. They can then develop an African lcc on their own terms using their established presence across the continent and their leasing operation as a further prop. Possibly they will re-float via an IPO a few years down the line. Not that such an action will do us any good.
PJMInvest (and others maybe)::
Wasn’t there a suggestion sometime ago that the new in-flight magazine was to be called “Places”? Possibly taken from mediaupdate’s new slogan “fastjet-launches-taking-you-places-campaign”.
Imagine my surprise when I saw its appearance just now on the same publishers as Travelsmart AND its May Issue 18!! (Last Travelsmart mag was issue no 17). It surely HAD to be??
Fjetcrazy,as i said the only saving factor is that Solenta may not yet be prepared to allow this to go down
Certainly high load factors are a must to keep them on board
I did say I sometimes "used to" think...! It WAS pre-Solenta days.
What a RNS!
Now I have all the answers !
No wonder the Bulgarian lease was abruptly ended with just small change left in the bank.
We are clearly in a very precarious situation despite Nico surrounding himself with industry leaders.
What the hell were they doing flying that Airbus in Zim with 55% load factor.
I have written off my Fjet investment, will pop in from time to time just to see how it's doing, thank goodness for SXX,which Has covered my losses here.Good luck to those that stay with this in the future
