Don't know if aircraft or crew shortage problem
They are now the latest to add to the list of
The Q400 aircraft's performance and economics have been exceptional as we position ourselves for rapid growth, Jambojet CEO Willem Hondius said. We are looking at retiring our narrowbody fleet and transitioning to an all-Q400 fleet by end of this year. We are confident that the Q400 aircraft will allow us to implement our growth strategy as we strive to launch new routes and to respond to the anticipated increase in demand.
In addition to its Q400s, the carrier operates two Boeing 737-300s.
fatherelmer: I heartily endorse every word in your second paragraph. But I`m really surprised to see your dig in the first. I had no idea anyone else felt the same about my personal efforts at a meaningful contribution in the form of analysing what you oversimplify as the pagination content of the in-flight magazine.
I was used to it being used as a means of taunting me by the thankfully long-banned Steve Gurr, or Beretta by which he was last known, and his equally objectionable mate, Ian Pegg, or Bedpug. You may have noticed that I have abandoned the practice since the hiatus between the switch from TravelSmart to Places.
I didnt spend the time it took just to announce the page count but to use the analysis of its advertising content as a very basic indicator of the airline`s progress, shown by the support of businesses both large and small. I acknowledge my expertise in any other relevant area other than advertising is severely limited.
Back on topic, looks like only four planned services today , this in our busy period!
Where have our pilots gone!
Not much-hated Fjetcrazy, only by me! :-) But youre worth it!
Would post if there was actually something meaningful to discuss - to me the minutiae of daily operations or the pagination count of the in flight magazine don't warrant comment.
Though as probably the best connected poster on the board you do a sterling job and so thanks for all the hard work as without you no one would really know much of what is going on as the BoD are not exactly effusive!
Well , the very top of the morning to you all !, delighted to see the Fjet board still has a pulse!
If it takes using much hated abbreviations such as Canx to bring you all out then so be it!
On a more serious note it seems that todays operation was planned on a much reduced scale resulting in sold out flights, not sure if its because one aircraft is out of service or if we still have crew shortages,
Whatever the reason it has resulted in Full Flights.
On a different note I do wish more of you would post
A good day to you all.
Thank you, Farurggia1967; nice to hear from you whenever it takes your fancy. I have nothing to contribute either! But glad you enjoy the banter.
[Totally off-topic on THIS board but a quick thank you for your tip of last August which , of course, I followed up and now showing a profit of 24%. A mere trifle from what we can expect though, eh?! Though posters on that Board seem to have very mixed feelings.]
Still here too but have nothing to contribute but having a chuckle at the banter !,,,
Keep it going
ATVB TO ALL. ESPECIALLY THE OLD BRIGADE.
PJMInvest: You are amongst several ongoing regular contributors to this Board alongside many others appearing less frequently, all of whom provide plenty of evidence to disprove buxton1s gross exaggeration that just one individual is responsible for the Boards existence.
And, yes, yours stand out as individually meaningful contributions. Having said that, I think there is room for a bit of lighthearted badinage, especially while fastjets newsfeed remains so moribund.
I can promise posters that youll hear a lot less from me when the company provides much more activity to provoke posts of a more informative and on-topic calibre. 2018 should see that development at last.
I am still here too at 738 mainly single observations not multiple entries back and forth
No-one doubts that for a minute, buxton1, as I have oft remarked on too. Though if you care to check, I'm not far behind him with 2539 posts!
I just hate the ugly abbreviation "canx" that was all. I don't really expect to convert him! Thankfully, (if I'm right,) Fjetcrazy's sense of humour is a lot better than yours by up-ticking my post.
I'm not sure why shylock has deserted us for so long now probably because of unfriendly posts like yours. Admittedly, like you, he lacked a good sense-of-humour but he consistently posted intelligent and informative posts, and always on-topic.
Marksman what are you on about Fjetcrazy keeps this board going single handedly most days unlike long since gone contributors like Shylock

No problem, Fjex
Marksman get a grip
Pleeease drop that godawful, ugly abbreviation "canx", will you. Just for me! Thank you so much.
Has anyone else noticed timekeeping has deteriorated of late, It will come as no surprise to see the next timekeeping results to probably be in the low 80,s. A frequent DAR Mwanza customer mailed me today telling me the E190 going down a treat and our flights are CHOCCA.
Over in Harare our 0615 service was canx this am
SAA,AIRLINK AND.SA EXPRESS are seperately constituted companies under TRANSNET, the RSA transport state owned parastatal . Plenty.of local comment on merging all three into one national carrier as there would be considerable cost savings, although only heaven knows what interesting issues a proper due diligence would throw up. With considerable pressure from the ratings agencies.to bring some.sort of financial order to Transnet there is a push to boost profitability, which means imo a continuation of protectionist attitudes, but we will.see.......
Not at all , it will make it difficult for us to compete , having said that if this gets go ahead the authorities may be more open to Fjet starting up in SA
Interesting - will it open up opportunities for fastjet (via Federal Aviation) in South Africa??
thanks, I did know we own Ghana and Angola I was not aware about kenya I thought I should ask
