Meths .You misjudge me regarding jt 16 .Everything i say about him is tongue in cheek .His barbs are like being struck by a butterfly's wing .(hence my ref to Healey and Howe )I just like to prick there self importance and pretensions .They have nothing better to do than sit behind the curtains waiting for something to happen .Lying in the Desert in the Yemen as i have done is a little bit more disconcerting .As Brear Rabbit would say please don't say bad things about me.
If you think JT 16 is vicious, you cant have been on the receiving end of many comments to your posts in the past. Believe me , JT16 is a puppy compared to some of the vitriol Ive read. And I agree with him. These bulletin boards are full of nonsense. Some comments can be amusing and some posters can educate as to the workings of the stock market, without plugging a share. When I was a boy I took advice and sold only to see the share double in a year or buy and to see it go out of business. I hope you recover your money with Fastjet.
Meths Various amounts from 1.50 to 16 probably need shares to raise to app. 45 p before break even .Without wishing to risk the ire of the sage jt 16 fully expect to reach that figure this year .Remember some time ago when share went up 78% in the day .I think the company is in the best position its ever been .The potential is enormous .Not helped mind you by vicious word smiths like jt 16 .Hope he hasn't access to any sharp instruments .His put downs are devastating .I have to go into a darkened room after one of his attacks.Carpe Diem .St Ignatius is the Champion
Hi Stig. Thanks for informing us you have 80,000 shares. But you didn't say what you paid for them.

Thanks Fjetcrazy. As I think I said before, always good to see pictorial evidence of such local and traditional billboard publicity. Have a good weekend.

My god jt you surely know how to wound .Shades of Dennis Healey and Geo Howe.F.J have possibly gone as low as they possibly can .So they have ironed out most of the pit falls of starting up a new airline .The time is ripe for a takeover .My only Consolation is that who ever bids would have to satisfy Solenta &.Stellios .who would not surrender there shares cheaply .Obliviously Me and Stellios will never recover our original outlay (although i have purchased at very lower levels ) but we both haven't the benefits of your business acumen ,so will have to suffer the slings and arrows etc. My current Share Holding is 80,000
Methuselah, As I understand it monies earned in a country's local currency stays in the country and connot be converted to USD, EUROS etc. and therefore cannot always be send abroad to pay for e.g. spares or to be sent back to UK banks. It all depends a on the local treasuary stance on their monetary controls. It can sometimes be a relaxed policy or can delay and frustrate exchange for months or years. This can result in FJet mot being able to buy and pay for spares in a timely way. More generally you can often observe plant and machinery in other industries falling into disrepair due to problems of buying spares from abroad and being able to pay for them.
Indeed getting monies repatriated from most African countries is never easy. Could you explain what that sentence actually means I dont understand repatriated.
While no guarantee, a new regime must be a positive and hopeful development for the reasons you suggest, G-BOAE.
Getting profits out of Zimbabwe is not going to be easy either in the short term or the long term. Indeed getting monies repatriated from most African countries is never easy. I remember both BCAL and Virgin Nigeria gave up in the end and stopped operating there. Maybe the answer is to use the Zimbabwean cash to grow operations out of that country, but even that could be problematic as sooner or later spares, maintenance and fuel need to be paid for in foreign currency and may not be allowed by the treasury! Let us hope the new regime is more open to the benefits that modern transport can bring to the economy.
Fatherelmer, if we remain in the game, say with Solenta paper, I guess that is no bad thing given that Solenta seems to be well regarded in this part of the world. But if we are bought out with cash I cannot see too much premium on the current share price, all the more so if the Zimbabwe induced liquidity squeeze forces FJET's hand.
Rufiji, you have aired my concerns, and what I think Solentas longer term objectives are. I guess the question(s) then becomes... - is takeover by Solenta a bad thing?? - what will this mean for current shareholders??
G.BOAE, Thank you for an informed post. My take, and concern, is that we are being positioned for takeover creep by Solenta especially if they want to reverse into a London listing. At the same time loss of access to the $5 million in Zimbabwe, temporary but for how long, must be squeezing working capital to the extent that current operations must be under.some pressure.
Unless we are really really busy as almost every Tanzanean Flight is sold out for next 2 days
Hi Stig You may be right and the Chinese might make a bid but I doubt they would pay more than 10p for it
Was that a criticism of me or Stelios (typical FJ investor ).. jt 16....He was and is one astute business man ,possibly not in your category. But its a fact that he DID say that he wouldn't bid for 12 months .And is it beyond the bounds of possibility that the Chinese with there vast recourses ,the ground work having been done make a bid .And after 40 years of investing i am surprised you have the time to make childish comments .Or perhaps you have al the time in the world on your private island to make observations like this .Would we know you if your name cropped up in the Worlds Financial Pages
In the investing world nothing is certain, its all a question of possibilities, probabilities and pie in the sky chances. FJ, unfortunately for the investors, fits the last category rather well being both a pie and in the sky at the same time. Im sure many people were buoyed along with Mr Stalwart and Co and the promises of the management. They must feel highly embarrassed about the whole thing when questions come up about Fastjet around the dinner table. Hows that sure fire African airline of yours doing Crabshaw? They would rather not be reminded of the past, so I wont.
Your right and have been right for years. Its scary how easily some folk can be convinced to i vest in a company that has never made a profit. How on earth do they think the company can continue to function without fresh cash which simply dilutes their holdings.
in this company whatsoever.... they've squeezed every last penny out of Fastjet shareholders and now they are borrowing money at ridiculous interest rates. Absolutely incompetent leadership from start to finish! Junk grad investment is probably classing it too high!
Fastjet Group is set to add a trio of ATR72-600s following a disclosure that it intends to fund their induction through a USD12 million loan from equity partner, Solenta Aviation Group. The aircraft, known to be msn 1047 and 1060 (leased from Azul Linhas Areas Brasileiras) and msn 1072 (leased from ATR Leasing), are part of a Letter of Intent (LOI), signed with ABRIC Leasing Limited, in September last year, wherein the Tanzania-based low-fare airline would secure the turboprops on a 10-year operating lease, with the option of acquiring them. Under the LOI, Fastjet is due to pay ABRIC's parent firm, ACIA Aero Capital Group of Companies (ACIA), an option deposit of approximately USD11 million to acquire the economic rights to the aircraft. The Avions de Transport Rgional turboprops will allow Fastjet to access runways and markets previously inaccessible due to its historic jet-only fleet, whilst also complimenting existing aircraft types in between the 50- and 100- seater gauge sizes. Among the markets where they may be deployed include South Africa (via Fastjet South Africa), Tanzania (via Fastjet), Mozambique (via Fastjet Mozambique), and possibly Zimbabwe (via Fastjet Zimbabwe). "We are excited by the expected entry-into-service of turboprop aircraft during June 2018," Fastjet CEO Nico Bezuidenhout said. "This aircraft type serves a particular purpose in that certain short-haul routes with shorter runways now become accessible to Fastjet, whilst the fuel-efficient nature of the aircraft will stand us in good stead in an environment where fuel prices have shown an upward trend." As such, Fastjet said in a London Stock Exchange filing that it had entered into a USD12 million loan facility agreement with Solenta to fund the option deposit as well as to provide general working capital. Among the securities Fastjet has put down for the loan include the Fastjet trademarks, its shares in Fastjet Zimbabwe (FN, Harare Int'l), the shares to be acquired by the group in Federal Air (7V, Durban Virginia) (if and when acquired), and the economic rights of the group to be acquired in the three ATRs. The security includes a Solenta right to nominate directors to the boards of FedAir and Fastjet Zimbabwe together with an additional director to the board of Fastjet PLC.
What's happened to Stellios He stated he wouldn't make a bid or comment for 1 year well that is long gone .It would be very interesting to see how he views the present situation and the future I am also surprised the Chinese haven't expressed an interest.
