Fjetcrazy Friday and Sunday there are double flights to Mbeya and the rest of the week one flight only
Not quite fair Fatherelmer they have executed most of their stabilization plan 1.New fleet 2.Moved the operation away from Gatwick 3. Removed the loss making routes I think execution seems a lot better than the living in hope style of ED's team What we need is some expansion new routes in Tanzania, Bulawayo route in Zimbabwe and and further expansion in Mozambique. The unknown is are we now at a break even cash flow position
Lets hope they have a good plan and can execute it well (something that is not yet evident IMHO - as yet they haven't come across really any better than Ed & Richard in terms of execution - strategy is much better though)
Surprised by the MBI reductions as that now rules out going for the day - thought this was always a fairly steady route in Eds day? Maybe the ERJ145s don't allow for 'Buckets of Fish' and so PAX numbers have tailed off??
I must be stating the bl**ding obvious Fjetcrazy, but they must surely have based this decision on considerable research and latest passenger statistics? After all, that one reduction is hugely balanced by the increased frequencies to Joburg and Mwanza, isnt it? Only IMHO of course. Best regards as ever.
Mbeya reduced to daily except Sat JRO increased to 3x daily Mwanza 3 x daily once a week 4X daily 6 times a week - Im very suprised the Mbeya has been cut to tune of 45% reduction

I think this type of thing should be stopped. There is too much work to do to make this airline profitable leaving speaking rolls at seminars to the CEO of bigger airlines Of course they are too busy and Fastjet have time on their hands
I can only imagine one will be used for new routes in Tanzania The other two to replace two of the ER5s which will give us more capacity

Lol, they better have good plans for ATR,
So that's what the 3 ATR are for!!
Hillwi, thanks for the confirmation. Good to see (some) progress, however small! The deployment of the ATRs will be the next big news....
fatherelmer, yes, the Maputo-Biera route has been increased to 2 return flights 6 days of the week, and I think the Maputo-Tete route has an additional return flight per week, although still does not operate every day.
....saw an interesting tweet that suggested that the schedule (frequency rather than routes) may have increased in Mozambique, can anyone confirm??? Good news if true.

That`s very good to hear, Fjetcrazy. They must`ve read my weekend post below!!
They finally acknowledge and apologies on their twitter feed better late then NEVER, a very upset customer actually thanked them for acknowledgement of departing EIGHT hours late, and they have responded to every complaint
Buxton1, very true, there was an update with limited financial information, and was bad regarding cash being locked up. There is no excuse for getting into this position, what has their strategy been regarding cash in Zimbabwe. How did they get themselves into this position? Was it just plain ignorance or was there some change in financial regulations in Zimbabwe since they started? For me, what I’m most interested in financially is Cost Per ASK. Nico has staked his reputation at fastjet, to a great extent, on reducing this. His fleet change was at huge expense in order to reduce costs. I, for one, will be judging his performance mainly on his ability to have significantly reduced this.
So sad to see the bad old days of Winter returning, eh? What happened to Nicos promising reassurances of running an airline properly? Is fastjet just impossible for management to get to grips with, even after more than five years?
Our customers are fuming this morning, last night facing five hour delays NO updates/ communication is annoying them more than the delay itself.
The last RNS provided some financial info certainly the cash situation was not good With cash locked up i Zimbabwie
No, B787. Had I known, I would have gladly revealed it. But on the basis that the AGM has been held in late June in the last three years, I considered that to be upcoming!
“upcoming AGM” - last year it was on 30th June. I couldn’t find a date for this year. Looks like Nico is witholding financial information from shareholders as long as possible so I expected the AGM to have been delayed until after 2017 results are published. Do you have a date for this tear’s AGM?
