Yeah. Well he should have give dew diligence! ONE FOR US I THINK ??
You need to differentiate between fastjet uk and it’s holdings and Fastjet Tanzania dumped on Masha
Am I missing something? You’re talking about fastjet Tanzania. Every one was complaining that the government has stopped fastjet uk being able to operate there and that Fastjet Tanzania had been stolen by Masha. My understanding is thar Niko stuffed Masha and dumped the dirty bag on him. Now Masha has been stuffed by his own....am I wrong ? As I understand Masha had paid for the shares then 4 days later his fingers started to burn. My understanding is that fastjet uk is may loose out on royalties.... but so what.
Jeeze. If this is true about the aircraft being impounded..... You really couldn’t make this up. Just when you think the CEO couldn’t trump the levels of incompetence already demonstrated.....

Re fjet Tanzania, what is Nico playing at?, Citizen reporting one E190 is being held against unpaid suppliers
GBOAE Not a chance i fear, TCAA have this all stitched up, if anything i think Masha will be going after FJET
Is it possible to take legal action against The Tanzanian authorities, or is the legal system also corrupt?
Often reported here in the past about the alleged bias of the aviation regulators towards Fastjet, as for instance seen when they jerked the airline around over the registration of ATR aircraft – incidentally operated in the country by Precision Air without any problems – YET. This move cost Fastjet PLC reportedly millions of US Dollars after acquiring the aircraft only to have to dispose of them after months of waiting instead of using their superior operating economics to finally move towards better financial times.
With three ATR’s lined up, which would have also assured a more reliable flight dispatch – the airline’s last such report had a 94 percent punctuality – was the stage set for Fastjet to continue serving the Tanzanian skies and beyond, but officials clearly had other ideas or as is being alleged, different marching orders which included tilting the playing field in favour of the national airline by getting rid of an unwelcome competitor.
It is recalled that earlier in the year, when Fastjet began, twice in fact, to advertise flights to Kigoma, were they compelled to stay off the route ostensibly to leave a monopoly for Air Tanzania, of course able to then charge almost any level of fares given that there is no competitor on the route to keep ticket prices in check.
While a tiny window of opportunity still remains for Fastjet to resume operations, they were given four weeks to submit a new business plan and related documents after Tanzanian citizens had acquired the vast majority of the airline’s shares a few weeks ago, is it highly doubtful, going by aviation pundits from Dar es Salaam, that they will succeed. It was suggested to ATCNews.org that they would have to basically start afresh and come to the regulators with the begging bowl in hand while in contrast the national treasury is showering the national airline with tax payers money.
Who will be next in the cross hairs of these so called regulators, who, by the look of it, have turned into a demolition squad rather than promoting air transport in the country. Watch this space to find out!
Tanzania’s Civil Aviation Authority has delivered a much treasured Christmas present to their ailing national airline by getting rid of competitor Fastjet and clearing the way for ATCL to battle it out with just one remaining scheduled carrier.

Indeed 787 , you could not make up, add to this the DISGRACEFUL way in which the Tanzania government has blocked Fastjet at every possible opportunity the end in TZ is inevitable
I’ve been a long term critic of the remuneration of both the CEOs at fastjet. It is outrageous that Nico is receiving so much for gambling away shareholders money. He has completely failed in his leadership at fastjet, he doesn’t even have the decency to forgoe some of his remuneration. All the talk of reducing costs when he arrived - and then he spends a fortune introducing not one, but two new fleets. And without regulatory approvals in place. Talk about failing to lead by example.
Dar es Salaam. Fastjet airline might be in more troubles after it yet again cancelled another trip, just some few days after the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCCA) warned the airline.
The airline sent an SMS to its passengers, who were scheduled to travel to Harare, Zimbabwe via Lusaka, Zambia on December 17, informing them flight 205 from Dar to Harare has been cancelled. According to one of the passengers, who booked her flight to Harare on October 25 she received the message from the airline informing her of the cancellation on Thursday, just a day after her husband went to Fastjet to confirm the flight.
The source, whose air ticket was seen by The Citizen and who preferred her name not to appear in the paper, said they had been given no reason as to why the flight was cancelled.
The message, which was seen by The Citizen read, “Dear passenger, it is with regret that we advise your flight 205 on Dec 17 from Dar to HRE has been cancelled. Please contact your nearest Fastjet office or call +255784108900. Fastjet sincerely apologize for any problem this may cause to you.”
This paper tried to call the number on the message but it didn’t go through.
Efforts to reach Fastjet proved futile as their phones went unanswered.
Fastjet’s frequent flight cancellations raised concern to TCAA.
TCAA director general Hamza Johari told The Citizen that they were concerned about the situation and would be acting to protect the interest of passengers.
However, the TCAA boss was not ready to give further information about the kind of actions he had in mind.
On Wednesday, Fastjet cancelled its Dar es Salaam-Mwanza evening flight, affecting more than 100 passengers who were forced to spend the night in the town. Although the respondent state (Rwanda) received all the notifications on the case and subsequent court decisions since the November 24th, 2017 judgement, it did not respond to any of them.
On November 23rd, 2018, Ms Ingabire (the applicant) informed the court that she had been set free and has left prison. That followed an amnesty by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda.
The opposition politician was earlier (October 30 th, 2012) sentenced by the High Court of Rwanda sentenced to eight years imprisonment for the same charges which included her alleged denial of genocide against the Tutsis in 1994.
Ms Ingabire, the Chair of UDF-Inkingi political party who returned to her country in 2010 from exile to vie for presidency, during that year’s presidential elections in her country.
She filed an appeal appeal before the African Court, contending that her fundamental rights as enshrined in the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights have been violated and sought a remedy from the Court.
Rwanda government was not represented at the hearing of the case because Kigali has challenged the independence and impartiality of the African Court.

This morning Mwanza subbed to ATCL the 0600 departed at 0510, no other flights since,
B737 tech again, money pouring out like confetti
https://twitter.com/fastjet/status/1074231803580432385?s=21
This is all getting ridiculous. Just given them 10k in a bl—-y rights issue. The boss not just being reckless but this is closer to fraud. My boy could do better with his affix model planes.
Rumours abound that They were forced into rescinding the route for ATCL
What next ! Just paid for rights issue. Is that money lost as well
Fastjet Airlines Ltd in Tanzania have with immediate effect, temporarily suspended flights operated between Dar es Salaam, Lusaka and Harare until further notice. All other flights on the Tanzanian network remain unaffected.
Dragoman, indeed.
