Woland - are you reading press releases from 5 years ago by any chance?!
Fly or still parked? Anyone have any news ? Very quiet at the moment other than advertising for cabin crew which in any case if the deal goes ahead won’t be for the company side we would be left with.
How is the flying going?
Unfortunately not, Stelios banged out of FJET quite some time ago (unless you have evidence that he has bought back in that is!).
This share is about to explode upwards, the founder of Easy Jet is backing and bankrolling this airline and it will be turned into the EASY JET Of AFRICA
Well if you listen to all the doubters on here there getting ready to go pear shaped. Must be some secret scheme to get more money out of shareholders.
May .... just maybe there’s a plan to get this company debt free and and in gear. Shh keep it a secret or we will get bashed again by all the pessimistic major shareholders.
Ps thanks for the update get sick of the dog’s barking on here.
So is this for route expansion? Or is it just to replace flight crew who have left for better jobs?

Missed The Mark By a Mile Man is back with comments. He claims to be still substantially invested in the company and is annoyed that someone suggested he’d never bought any Fastjet shares. He may well have bought in a few years ago. I’d imagine that investment has shrunk to about 20 quid by now, so substantial as it might have been, today it is not. That’s unless he’s referring to losses. Also he complains that he has been accused of having nothing to say. That criticism is unfair. He has a lot to say. Indeed some of his posts could have been published as a two page article in a broadsheet; but nothing he says means anything.
In his defence, I would like to point out that nothing I have written makes sense either. In fact, nothing anyone writes on these boards is worth paying serious attention to.
The only point to look forward to is Solenta buying it lock stock and barrel for £1 it’s over for shareholders.
It may be debt free but as a shareholder, you no longer own any part of it. Yes, they have been around for years but burnt through enormous amounts of money, most of which has ended up in ex director’s bank accounts. As someone said years ago ‘ It’s very difficult to make money in small African airlines. That is unless you are a director of one.’
Have some faith. See the good points. Not many I know. But.... if this deal goes ahead the company will be debt free. It’s been resilient and it’s still here. New management I have faith in and we should give it a chance. If it’s not your bag don’t back stab leave it with those that think it’s worth the risk.
To clarify yesterday's incident:

Struggling budget airline FastJet has confirmed it aborted take-off from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Sunday because of LOW FUEL.

Fastjet on 5th December launched an 11-weekly flight between Bulawayo and Johannesburg. The route will be served by the carrier’s 50-seat Embraer 145s.

Funny you should mention that, Pokerchips. Many moons ago now I posted just such a question: where can one obtain/purchase a fastjet model? Do you happen to know?
Fjetcrazy kindly obtained a free photograph of one of our aircraft in-flight, set in a splendid brushed-steel frame too. Still on display in my 'office' above me!
[This post will also serve to assure the cynical JT16 that I AM still around, being one of the first to post here SIX YEARS ago, and that I AM substantially invested in the company still, after he accused me of not having "any money in the company" as well as nothing to say.]
" There is something about this firm that I like "
Allgar
Well I suggest you just buy a plastic model Fastjet aeroplane ......because there is VERY LITTLE detail about what revenues could be generated from any new position that FJET finds itself in...
South Africa is in a real mess at the moment economically and Zimbabwe isnt exactly doing much better
Caution is the word here.....share prices drop heavily for a reason
Poker chips interesting on what’s going to happen in the months ahead the model of Fastjet is there
The plans of selling there unit which looks set to go ahead and restructuring itself looks set to going forward
There is something about this firm that I like the debt that fjet is nothing compared to Saa and they are going to save the firm enough said
The consortium has obviously put this idea together and as FJET are pushed further into a corner...it becomes the only real option on the table...you cant seriously see them raising more equity at the current share price
The devil is in the detail and it will no doubt depend on the final selling price and the detail of the contract ....but Solenta must want to keep a hold of the brand
Interesting though that an airline that has lost 400-500 million dollars is going to set itself up as a franchise operator advising and assisting in ....how to run an airline !
Certainly rebranding to a "known name" like Fastjet could be beneficial to smaller airlines and benefit from group buying, group cost management etc ...but it is all a bit unknown with regards to how it would operate and what the "likely" revenues for FJET would be....
Certainly interesting to watch what happens to SAA , alongside all of this ....
Still room for another %90 fall from here, 0.01 soon
Looks like an afternoon. Rebound
Wouldn't like to call bottom on this that's for sure!
Could easily spike 100% but more likely bust.
Out and out gamble.
Do they know what they are doing....all seems very random.
Apols if already posted.

He can understand Zim as much as he likes it won’t change the fact that the revenue there is locked away, Fjet share price down 90% on the not so very good RNS, good luck on your position, when Air Zimbabwe is relaunched Fjet will be screwed , just like it was in Tanzania and Mozambique
