ATCL can now be tracked on flightradar and there on time and frequency of routes is quite impressive, add to this the new Zimbabwe Airways with 4 long haul wide body B777 and five B737 Max, the competition is certainly hotting up ATCL stepped into Nairobi/Mbeya/Moroni Prec. Entebbe
taskmaster: Nice try! But your haste to take a swipe back at ol’ Marksman sadly misfires. Precision Air can still be regarded as a rival but more specifically, fastjet even gets a name-check in Wolfgang’s article. So clearly complies with LSE’s rules all round! And you even add your own descriptive one-liner relating to the link you post. Ironically, unnecessary in this case as Wolfgang’s links always include that already.
The following link may contain scenes of a non Fjet nature...if you are of a nervous disposition you are advised to look away now... Precision Air affirms 01st of July launch date for Entebbe. https://wolfganghthome.wordpress.com/2017/06/25/precision-air-affirms-01st-of-july-launch-date-for-entebbe/

It would work with our smaller aircraft, we have apparently asked for HRE Bulawayo weeks ago ,don't know about Bulawayo Joberg it's a busy route mind
That route has been frequently requested over the months. With such regular pleas, I’ve often wondered if the management have ever given it the consideration it seems to demand? It would be nice to see some route expansion in the current climate.
@fastjet will you be introducing #bulawayo #joburg flights anytime soon? We are clamouring for your services
taskmaster: You can and will post what you like anyway and that’s fine too. Hardly worth falling out over. But it is not MY “idea of what qualifies as relevant on this forum” but the rules of London South East. Rule 5k states “[you will not] post or otherwise publish any content unrelated to the board or the board's topic.” This board’s specific topic is clearly “fastjet”! (Check out the header above). The series of your posted links to which I referred were about a whole bunch of other airlines, many somewhat obscure, which, IMV, were “unrelated” as very few are ever likely to pose as competition in the foreseeable future (to respond again to shylock’s comment on Monday.)
Needless to say I don't agree with your idea of what qualifies as relevant on this forum, nor do I accept your 'with strings' apology. So I will continue to post 'rose tinted free' in my own style thanks....
The agency has been relatively quick to produce and display a new panel on our HomePage of Facebook, trumpeting the latest major Award. Its roundel/logo also already inserted above it next to last year’s similar WTA accolade.
It's interesting. I have lived and worked in 16 African countries, all in aviation employment. My wife is a millennial, black African, but a UK university graduate (both BSc and MSc but accounting and finance - nothing to do with my line of work) and has only lived in 2 African countries. We both think that within Europe, EasyJet is a good business model for an LCC and from my professional side I rate them and KLM as having some of the highest safety standards worldwide. However, when it comes to African LCCs it's a different story and within Tanzania, FastJet has plenty of (non LCC) competition which I would rate as being equal or better for internal flights, based purely on my own experiences for flights between Dar and Zanzibar, Arusha and Mwanza. These include Coastal, ATCL and Precision. For internatioinal local flights between Dar and NBO, despite their somewhat spotty record, FJ could never compete with KQ. Casting my 'safety' eye over them, FJ is up there with the best (though I personally have never audited any of them and think I am probably rather relieved (but also slightly concerned) that this is so. The trouble with surveys like this is that they rely on the consumer experience only. For me, I am concerned about 3 things only - standards of the people in the pointy bit in fron of the self-loading freight (you and I), standards of the engineers who make sure all the rotating and vibrating bits are safe, and if the the quality and safety safety standards are fit for purpose.
A new 30-sec commercial has been produced, part-animated and still using the same old corny jingle! It may be viewed as the latest post on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/fastjet
JT16 as you have flown with them several times, may I ask is Fjet you're preferred carrier? I take it you have not used the competition as you state you can only guess how atrocious the competition must be.
Fjetcrazy: Any interjection was welcome! IT was just that fatherelmer had also provided a plausible response to my query directed at him, just as your sis. Thank you. Makes perfect sense – because a flight from Sofia to Zurich patently didn’t!
Marksman if I may interject? It could well be that this Aircraft was returned early and it's currently in process of being re registered, if that's the case this would explain your query, remember the Zim A319 did have an option to be returned and charge on rotation basis if my memory serves me correctly.
fatherelmer: Further to our exchange on Monday [16:28-17:43] concerning the Zurich–>Sofia flight, I promised to check the next such flight’s box on FlightRadar24 after you explained that “FB” is the standard designator code for Bulgaria Air and not “fastjet related flights”. I can confirm that this afternoon’s flight no FB491, from Sofia–>Zurich, ETA 12:48, does include fastjet’s name in that black box top left of the photo. So what’s it doing there if it’s not related (which, of course, I accept)?
Well done Fastjet, great news and proves we are still alive and kicking. Lets hope the first 6 months results also show we are on the right track with reduced losses and we still have enough cash in the Bank to move forward
It's incredible taking into account all the instability of yesteryear, testament that despite all of what fastjet customers endured, they still love our Airline,a fantastic morale booster for all the staff particularly the frontline staff Well done team fastjet.
Absolutely terrific news, following on from last year’s similar accolade in the WTA. Btw, you can still add your vote to this year’s WTA; you’ll need an email address and a password. Some of us helped fastjet to win last year by doing so!! https://www.worldtravelawards.com/nominees/2017/africa
For such a smart leader as Magufuli to do such a thing as you highlight would be sending investors in his country a message that would have them running for the hills, however should this be the case there's really nothing we can do about it, it's very clear he is a staunch supporter of the revived ATCL, with a vastly improved network and fleet which has additions on the way including a B787.
Thanks for the update, Fjetcrazy.
Will a committee of the government say that there are 'ten times' more airplanes flying 'ten times' more routes with 'ten times' more passengers on board? Or do you think Fastjet is safe from what's going on in Tanzania right now? The government is banning the media and talking of ripping up the constitution. A lot of wind direction politics going on. Will Fastjet be seen as an imperial western corporation raping Tanzania of it's riches. Any contracts negotiated prior to the current government taking over may be subject to review. Good luck.
