Carbonmix , I would agree with your sentiments regarding A319 FJD absolutely a stellar performance ,
ZS-BBD is operating this morning, I've not seen BBS for some weeks now
Marksman, could be They might just not have reached the capacity yet to undergo an IOSA audit and membership is not cheap but for quality airlines almost a must these days ,but I believe we are AFRAA registered .
Can anyone tell me why we’re not members of IATA, as reported in Carbonix’s second link below, and confirmed on IATA’s own website? Is it to do with the time an application takes to be accepted as we wait? Or have we not even applied? And if not, why not? Is membership of IATA not a minimum standard we and our passengers expect us to aspire to and which can be of great benefit to us? Maybe I overestimate its value and importance to us – a mere 2-‘plane ‘outfit’!? And the annual fees of $14,500 on top of the Application Fee of $15,000 may have been a consideration by the present or, more likely, the former BoDs, misguided or otherwise?
Hi Fjetcrazy, and thanks for posting the tweet .. but although we should take note of competitors, FlyAfrica are not currently a threat - in various interviews in May and June, various Trumpesque statements were made that action was imminent, none of which have happened. One example of rambling promises is at https://www.newsday.co.zw/2017/05/29/flyafrica-resume-flights-2/ If we want to keep tabs on local competitors, Dar-based Precision Air are loss-making, but have a much better track record of delivery than most - see http://www.monitor.co.ug/Business/Technology/Precision-Air-returns-Entebbe-route-four-years/688612-3996368-vmy5gyz/index.html
Thanks Fjetcrazy
PJ , it's because the tracking system does not work on those sectors indeed you also loose track of BBM when she's about 20 mins out of JNB into HRE, looking forward to seeing the return of second aircraft
Why can I never trace Flights from HRE to VFA on flight Radar 24 ZS-BBM only shows 6 flights per day which would only cover the HRE-JNB flights, why are the HRE-VFA not showing or is it a different aircraft ?
Excellent sources, Carbonix. Thanks.
For those interested, here's a picture of ZS-BBM: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/8643370 So now we appear to have two 50-seat fastjet-liveried E145s operating in Zimbabwe, both leased from Solenta (and apparently access to others of this type also owned by Solenta). Full details of these two are: https://www.planespotters.net/airframe/Embraer/ERJ-145/145607/ZS-BBH-Solenta-Aviation https://www.planespotters.net/airframe/Embraer/ERJ-145/145597/ZS-BBM-Solenta-Aviation Of course, the next interesting fleet changes will be one or more 100-seat E190s for Tanzania in the autumn, to replace the last remaining A319 5H-FJD, which is still doing sterling service.
So this could be our second Fjet Zim based aircraft,it's a former Afric Aviation aircraft ( Afric Aviation is a regional airline based in Port Gentil, Gabon. Its main base is Port-Gentil International Airport. Wikipedia Headquarters: Port-Gentil, Gabon Parent organization: Equaflight )
ZS-BBM sporting our logo is operating today
I thought it was the new one guys , sorry for duplication
Fjetcrazy: Thanks for providing the actual the link, and to PJMInvest for elaborating on his post of an ‘advice’ on 30 June but that was just for access to Places on the website Blog, so I did get to see it then. Let’s hope they’ve got it all sorted out by the time of the next issue, due presumably on 1 August, so not far away now.
...and what's a "blog area"?!!
Fjetcrazy, No One is saying that the Places Magazine is not able to be viewed online for someone in the know who happens to know that if they go far enough in the blogs it can be found. What we are saying is that for nearly 5 years you have been able to access the magazine from the home page at the bottom in a dedicated hotlink. That Hotlink still is there erroneously displaying a non functioning link to a former magazine. If you are just a regular customer and not Fastjet Geeks like us, and you logged on for the first time, you would probably not go further than clicking on the erroneous link and give up think we no longer had that availability. I extremely doubt that they would suddenly think to themselves, Oh I know what I will do, I will log onto the Blog area and see if there is a link to the magazine that does not work on the dedicated area. I Think Not.

Ditto with the Cancellation and Delay information Update panel on the front page, as I've been banging on about for weeks. Latest situation still showing as 11 April. It would be wonderful to think there have been no delays or cancellations over the last 3 months but there have been times when our FB pages suggest otherwise. Like the Places update, it would be so easy and appear far more professional to have that panel simply stating "There are no delays to, nor cancellation of, any of our services today..." but crucially, ensure that that is amended the moment delays etc ARE reported.
It is not a big job to edit the front page which still has a dead link to the old Travelsmart magazine, and make it read Places Magazine and divert it to that from the front page. People will not remember to go to the blog and scroll down to view it from there. This would only take minutes for someone with access to the program.
BBD , already in our logo but still not Zim registered which I believe is in process, BBD I believe will be the addition which currently is in Solenta logo
Happy Birthday from me too Marksman. Is the rise in sp a precursor to a brilliant RNS tomorrow? We shall see.
BBD , already in our logo but still not Zim registered which I believe is in process, BBD I believe will be the addition which currently is in Solenta logo
Thank you all, oilyguy, B787 and PJMInvest, for your kind birthday wishes.
