Fjetcrazy, there was another article / link I posted a couple of weeks ago, under the same heading, that also mentioned Francistown so it'll be interesting to see if either / both come to fruition.
Not sure what this means but no doubt the 6 months trading report at end of December will tell something. I suspect that a huge slice of Easyjets business in Europe is from tourists whereas in Africa, most similar outfits take business travellers who will be particularly demanding of service when travelling competitive routes. There again, will any airline in Africa become really big without large tourist/holiday business.
I don't recall the previous BOD ever informing us of the granting of that route, it will be interesting to see if it becomes a reality, I'm very optimistic that we are all going to be given an RNS with much to rejoice about regarding new routes
our Our Routes Map on our website needs updating to show JNB-VFA and also Harare-Lusaka as this will be available in November and will help pre-sell tickets.
Link missed off last posting - apologies.... http://www.mmegi.bw/index.php?aid=71235&dir=2017/august/25
Gaborone on the cards out of Harare???
Payment to easyGroup Holdings for the acquisition of all intellectual property rights associated with the fastjet brand has finally been confirmed. [RNS]. Another leap forward.
Not the one I was hoping for but at least we are flush enough to pay stell in full for our brand and he obviously was not going to break fjets bank to get it.
Thank you for that info on numbers etc
Two in Zim over 70 rotations per week Three in TZ we won't know rotations until routes for TZ ERJ are announced but the Two E190 in TZ have a busy winter schedule you can count them on Fjet website by typing in Nov departure s
"It has been statistically proven that air transport offers the fastest means of transport for business entrepreneurs across the globe" Wow cutting edge alright. Not including being fired out of a cannon....
All I can say on the view i watched this morning on flightradar is that the 319 went to Arusha and on the arrival and departure sheets for the airport was due to stay for 15 mins before leaving and going. I took this has a test flight for that airport, I could be totally wrong and the explanation given is correct but it defiantly dissappeared at that airport. On a separate subject I am a bit lost on number of aircraft we will have at the end of November and total airports we will serve and how many rotations any one out there willing to give this info
We now know that the original management of fastjet were, shall we say, optimistic. And many of them at least had a track record in the industry. But if you want optimism, just have a read of the Vule Airways press release; this seems to be some sort of prospectus, written as a school project, liberally using source material from "How to Set Up a Company", ""Random Facts about the Airline Industry" and "A Traveller's Guide to Uganda". My favourite sentence is "The Board of Directors believes in a policy of ensuring that Vule Airways continuously grows through ploughing back of the Retained Earnings but the Board also believes in rewarding the owners of Capital (Shareholders) for providing the necessary Capital and undertaking risks." Enjoy! https://vuleairways.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Vule-Airways-Press-Pack_August-8-2017.pdf
Skyliner Aviation reports the twinjet, which was previously in service for Fastjet Zimbabwe (FN, Harare Int`l), was recently added to the Tanzanian register as 5H-FJF ahead of its delivery in the coming weeks. It is recalled that two ex-Mandarin Airlines (AE, Taichung Ching Chuan Kang) EMB-190s are due for delivery in the coming weeks as well. -------- Nico registered this aircraft before it arrived, unlike previous BOD always crying fowl of regulatory authorities delay tactics!
It is a privately owned Airline, their own projected losses are 1.44 Million USD for the First 3 Years and due to be profitable in year 4. Good Luck to THAT. We know from our own experience that those start-up costs are a pipe dream. Interesting comment "Vule Airways to replace Fastjet Low Freight Fares " Perhaps we will have our own Dar-EBB service with the ERJ145 before they start that route and enable us to re-instate the Low Fastjet Freight service.

Looks like an entry problem in attaching the flight file to the wrong entry. The Flight that looks to have gone to Arusha did in fact to a final right hand turn to land at Kilimanjaro as scheduled, but the flght number was incorrectly attached , which indicated it was the Dar-to Mbeya flight number. Just an Entry Problem.
??
Flight to Arusha have this morning there for a short period then ?
Hi@rhmakota,we temporarily suspended the route as we are restructuring our network and fleet for efficiency. We hope to resume soon. CM ----- This is a response to customer requesting info on EBB
Perhaps they died of old age ?
fjetcrazy, that's very true as with the current programme / schedule the 2 E190s would be more than enough. It will be interesting to see how they are all deployed.
Fatherelmer, that remains to be seen , in my opinion there is no way Nico would add this third aircraft to two E190,s if they did not already have its work planned.

buxton1, I'm with you in that if the ERJ could be deployed on routes such as Mtwara, Dodoma, Kigoma and Moroni as well as possibly resurrecting some other 'old routes' such as Entebbe, Nairobi and Lilgonwe that would be good, and definite signs of improvement / forward movement and perhaps begin to be signs that this may be an investible proposition once more (along with continued growth / expansion in Zimbabwe).
