Ok. I just thought that the political climate was partly responsible for fjet's withdrawal from the (as I remember) one of the supposed most lucrative routes?
I don't see how that could play into our hands.
Election result null & void ? Or am I on the wrong wavelength?
Oilguy What events are you referring to?
Doing test runs 2012 local Zimbabwe ops still only one aircraft with three hour delays
Could the events unfolding here ultimately play into our hands?
Today is the day that our parteship with Solenta proves it's worth, both our ERJ,s were tech last night , but by 0630 this morning it still remained the case, I can only guess Solenta did not have any backup aircraft available, fastjet responses to customers both in Zimbabwe South Africa and DAR indicate technical difficulties, to have had such an amazing six month clockwork operation and to be hit hard at both bases in one day is a great shame, on a positive note Fjet twitter are responding in a timely manner
The HRE flight is still scheduled to fly tonight and all tomorrows flights seem ok. Hopefully it is only a technical problem and they are bringing in a replacement aircraft or ours will be up and running again in time. Bad luck after such a good run
Very strange. The schedule ran like clockwork yesterday, but today, 1st September, nothing. I do hope it is a technical problem with the aircraft, and not some licensing or other administrative situation, which terminated on 31st August, disallowing us to operate as normal from today.
No flights out of DAR today
Looking like she's out of action MWANZA x2 JRO CANX,, LUN HRE still planned to operate.
https://twitter.com/110587/status/903473475255320578 --- DAR JRO also canx We have had an amazing run of realiability, not sure what the issue is with FJD
What a pity because we had been doing so well recently no delays or cancellations
We have a canx service this eve and late flight couple hours late , all four services tomorrow North and South chocca
Departed trade beyond the grave.
That's a bugger!
Not down to the airline but its main shareholder the Government.Good news for Fastjet as ATCL expansion has been slowed down.Great pity that the Tanzanian Government got so involved in running an airline
It is not necessarily operating exclusively for fastjet Zimbabwe
from JNB to Gaborone and then onto Capetown today ?
Grayking, report for H1 2017 should be published by the 30th September (ie within 3 months of period end) so not too much longer to wait.
I remember suggesting FastHovercraft and FastSeaplane years ago. Noone took the idea seriously, but then again, that was in the days of large aircraft, the days when quite a lot of people piled into this company.
graking, Right Sizing basically means having the right type/size of Aircraft to suit the different variables of runway length, distance, number of passengers and frequency of out and back capability for Business Travellers avoiding overnight stay. In using Airbus 319 we had to reduce frequency, so as to not fly with too many empty seats, Whereas in Zimbabwe when we changed to ERJ145 we can now manage 4 rotations a day which is ideal. As it gets busier, having achieved good number of rotations, right sizing would then in this case mean moving up to a E190. Right Sizing might also mean using a Turbo Prop or small Jet which can land on a busy but shorter runway or Airports that we currently cannot service with 319's. So Right Sizing means getting the closest match between requirements and capability.
