It is dreadful to see us being wrong footed so badly. It is clear 1) the contingency plan should A319 FJD fail was wholly inadequate, and betrays a worrying disregard for reputational risk, 2) communication to the affected passengers is woeful, and 3) communications generally are poor, for example the website currently displays the date as 16 October, and irritatingly There are no disruptions at the moment. Any pretence we are bringing European/North American standards of a low cost model is destroyed at a stroke.
for some !... Good management should get this under control quite quickly.
It Looks like FJH E190 did a test flight/Demo on 22nd From /To Dar
I just hope Nico is got good news for us to increase the so if not this is going down guys. I can't just keep topping up, I like I'm putting my in hole. I just need to careful for now. I can feel your pain that crazy this share promise after promise hopefully 1 day.
The ( FFU) FIELD FORCE POLICE were called in this morning to maintain order , Im going to take a break from this its doing my head in , all this while the higherarchy engrace themselves in raising funds and wearing three piece suits at award ceremonies Fastjet should get an award soon for not being able to organise a P up in a brewery!
This morning s flight was cancelled and left 70 pax stranded and 100 in opposite direction, on top of this last nights hre Also canx and todays JRO departing @ 2320 Todays ops consist of three flights
Dreadful I think Dar -Mbeya flight has been cancelled the evening. flight to Mwanza is still scheduled This will be an issue for any airline which has a fleet of one Really this has set Fastjet back big time with Tanzania where we have serious competition No chance of breaking even this year Also no update on the website about delays
Local papers over this like a rash and high profile customers asking questions while Fjet remains tight lipped and reneges on all that they said about their pledge to keep customers better informed https://twitter.com/dr_makame/status/922755777923878913
Where is the E190? I presume if it is in Tanzania it hasn't got clearance from the authorities. This is like a old record we had the same problem with Air Bulgaria this time last year The future is not good when we continuously shoot ourselves in the foot Of course it has been said we were unlucky that the A319 went out like it did but I think we were lucky that it lasted as long as it did
the new plane we start operate on Friday but lack of information is the problem for Nico.
Blimey!! That is just unbelievably scary that were actually flying on such a tyre. Isnt that surely way beyond legal safety limits?
Usually last minute cancellation, which happens, BUT NO INFORMATION FOR CUSTOMER S
ATCL PRESICION AIR LAPPING it all up so Nico if you do indeed look at your shareholders chat, its about time you or your head of commercial put out a humble pie statement, hiding behind a clapped out 23 year old B737 IS NOT WORKING, give our customers some reassurance!
https://twitter.com/my_jk40/status/922667940226486272 Problems with this morning flight
They are playing very hard ball and.also with the JNB LUN possibility. They see these routes as.the remit of the proposed new.state airline. However, the reported purchase of Russian planes to fleet Zambian Airways does.not.seem to have much progress so there is hope
i hope things will change in Africa hope they do business. its sad to see sp is down this low, but i hope Nico will change all of this. what does everyone think about Fastjet next move will be, in terms of route expansion
Morning Carbonmix , the status quo re LUN HRE and visa versa continues and they appear on and off sale on regular basis, as far as I am aware it will not be happening anytime soon as Zambia 🇿🇲 is playing hard ball and this route is now being eyed for the to be launched Zimbabwe Airways will delivery of their ERJ,s, same with Bulawayo, so much for OPEN SKIES!
This is launch day for our first E190 and resumption of the delayed increased schedule on 30 Oct, the 737 from Star will continue with us until mid November when second E190 comes into service, the cost of subbing this aircraft will no doubt put back our targeted TZ cash flow positive last quarter into next year IMO , we have had full flight s to Mwanza and Mbeya over the weekend, now I just hope all our paperwork and permissions are in order for E190 operations!
interesting I know Elton shango lol lol. thanks fjetcrazy.
Fjetcrazy, I stand corrected about the ability to book this route - I've just tried and failed. However I promise you that the booking worked two days ago! I do appreciate your contributions on this board, more factual than many, and we can only hope this route goes ahead. And re eltonshango, the only Elton Shango I know of is British, but no doubt we will be told; in the interim I am happy to air [sic] on the side of caution...!
Carbonmix , eltonshango is indeed CORRECT, this route can not as yet be booked, I assume you have not taken into consideration eltonshango with regards to his typing English may not be his first language in which case one should air on the side of caution before criticising?
...Fastjet Zimbabwe an airline which flies when they say they do will be watching closely what next step the regulators will take and so will this correspondent... How heartwarming to read that from Wolfgang, IMO an enduring fan! In the context of comparison with the floundering FlyAfrica, I have to suggest again that it is imperative that fastjet makes every effort to maintain whatever reputation we still have (no cynicism intended), especially for reliability as a top priority (safety and maintenance are givens I am sure.) It is rewarding to be fairly confident that potential passengers already trust us to know that our schedules can be relied upon. Increasing the fleet early next month cant arrive soon enough and should only reinforce such trust.
