Three x weekly SAT TUES THURSDAY $55 one way lead in fares
Marksman, this has been talked about for so long I wouldn't hold your breath (I suspect the 6 months quoted is wishful thinking!). Note also the 23 doesn't include either Tanzania or Zambia (or Uganda and Malawi for that matter). Nice to see Nico quoted in the article - shame the poor long suffering shareholders don't get to hear from him....
At last! Let's hope it proves a positive for fastjet as has been anticipated by many of us waiting in the dark so long for this to come to fruition. But several months still before we'll know.
PJM, an ERJ145 would probably be a better fit than an ATR72 ( ie 50 vs 80 seats)
I also Wonder when starting to use the new ATR, if we will try for the 3rd time flying to Zanzibar with a more right sized aircraft ?
Kigoma would look like being a good geographic spread move as it will be our first community on Lake Tanganyika and is close to Burundi and the DRC is other side of Lake. There maybe could be a similar fishing dynamic like Mwanza on Lake Victoria
If this reflects the introduction of the first ATR then Dodoma and Mtwara would also be good additions to the schedule to keep her busy!
Booking website showing Dar to Kigoma on drop down menu but no availability. Could this be a new route to be announced?
As according to FlightRadar24 operations on FJH have been erratic ?
shocking choice of words given the situation meth...but seriously - where are fjet going ? sideways for a while longer I think. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2018/01/24/cape-town-prepares-to-run-out-water-as-severe-drought-worsens-ahead-day-zero.html
PJ invest. . It was an unfortunate choice of words, that's all. and if you knew me you'd know I'm an expert in saying things far worse than that.. More importantly, where do you see this company going? I was in Lonrho a while back and they got bought by SF Africa. Quite a lot of of smaller African companies have been absorbed.
I apologise to anyone who may have been offended by the innocent use of the word. No Offence Intended.
I think that is a very inappropriate word to use.in the context of this airline.
Nice and Clean and a big improvement. Only problems are still no Ancillary income Cross selling elements, ie, Car Parking , Hotel deals etc. One further issue seems to be the lack of a back to the home booking screen on each page, making it difficult to go back to where you started , the home page. This probably at present means having to log off and back on again to get to the ticket ordering screen.
PJ I dont believe there is any news to furnish us with.
Fast jet are Starving us of new news, as their has not been any for a long time.
fastjet signs LOI to lease three ATR 72-600 aircraft October 3, 2017 DAILY NEWS BRIEFS EUROPE/MEA fastjet signed (29-Sep-2017) a letter of intent (LOI) to lease three ATR 72-600 aircraft, with an option to purchase with Abric Leasing. The agreement entitles fastjet to use the three aircraft for 10 years. fastjet plans to deploy the aircraft over the next six months in South Africa, Tanzania and/or Mozambique. [more
I think they have learned from the last mistake. Until have go ahead don't sell any ticket and that is a good move because you don't let the customer down when things change.
ERJ re registered under Fastjet Zimbabwe, above reg.
It has gone quiet on delivery of the first ATR and you would have thought we would have announced routes and be selling tickets to minimise downtime after delivery.
Ethiopian have the management contract. Similar to the arrangement with Air Malawi. With domestic routes the priority Ethiopian will be able to feed PAX on to their international flights.
This is the reason... http://avherald.com/h?article=4b3cb9b8
In That case it will be the controlling 55% that will make it go pear shaped in time.
