Lo and behold, all is not well with Zimbabwe Airways... From News24: "The price of planes bought from Malaysia for a new Zimbabwe airline may have been inflated by up to $140 million, prompting a probe by President Emmerson Mnangagwas government, a private newspaper claimed on Friday. Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa and Transport Minister Joram Gumbo said on Wednesday the government had paid $41 million for two Boeing 777s and a smaller Embraer aircraft from Malaysia, to be leased to a new airline: Zimbabwe Airways. But the private Daily News, citing "highly-placed sources" said $140 million couldn't be accounted for, prompting a probe by President Emmerson Mnangagwa. ...Questions have been raised as to why the government is supporting a competitor to its own national airline Air Zimbabwe. One of the reasons for this is probably the range of airlines flying in....if only this could be repeated for other cities in Zimbabwe....

They have not flown for a week now
Not sure they are even flying at the moment there website seems to be down
Current President and owner of Flyafricaclub are related not that this would suggest reluctance to open up Bulawayo to a third carrier , and not to suggest CAAZ hands are tied, it stinks
I guess it may come down to post-Mugabe politics. Mugabe has met Farai Mutamangira to discuss the leadership of the NPF and to possibly mount a challenge to Mnangagwa. I think Mutamangura is still a local director of FJ Zimbabwe (but stand to be corrected by anyone with more detailed local knowledge)
Its very simple, CAAZ have not granted Fjet permission yet, only Air Zimbabwe and flyafrica, it remains to be seen if they will grant Fjet permission to fly the route, rumour is that they will, Fjet have stated they are ready to serve this route
Fjetcrazy what is the delay with Bulawayo surely it is in everybodys interests that we start this route with better frequencies and prices

.@Tourism_Update: travel news for southern Africa. @RAM_Maroc may be interesting for future travel plans to Malawi as @fastjet provide very economical internal flights within each of Tanzania & Mozambique that get close to Malawi border. #Tete #Mbeya Seen via @UlendoSafaris
Always good to see, but they really need new routes - especially with the incoming ATR72's....

New increased schedule
The problem here is that Zambia has quite rightly protected Proflight, Air Zimbabwe will easily get reciprocal rights to fly the route should they wish, Fastjet not granted fifth freedom rights , i guess they will keep trying as its still available in drop box showing as sold out, apparently they were very close to getting go ahead until Proflight objected as they wished to serve the route, its only a matter of time before Proflight serve LUN DAR under reciprocal agreement
Traveller dream delivered again....after @flyafricacom let down over 60 prominent bankers yesterday we managed to organise a charter plane in less than 3 hours a big thank you to @fastjet for availing planes at such short notice
Both Aircraft back in service this evening
Fastjet recruiting cabin crew for TZ
Good to see - well done FJET!!
Tonight will be interesting as the Mwa and HRE are due out same time, Im hoping FJH will be back in service tonight, last nights MWANZA landed at 0259 , FJI worked flat out yesterday with six rotations
Fastjet urgently scheduled 2 charters for the stranded passengers to VFA this morning. Flyafrica left bankers stranded at HRE yesterday when its flight failed to materialise,Fastjet were chartered with two extra flights to accommodate the group for its convention
Can't say this is in anyway surprising. I guess any Zambian ambitions are now firmly kicked in to touch and the chance has been missed / passed....to think there was once a Zambian registered aircraft within the fleet...
