Fastjet resuming flights on the 30th June.
Flights did not resume today
Following the latest updates from the Zimbabwean government regarding the continued COVID-19 related travel restrictions, Fastjet Zimbabwe will extend the suspension of their schedule flight network until Tuesday, 30 June 2020.
Given the unprecedented nature of the external factors that the travel industry is facing, our management team continue to assess the situation on a daily basis and remain committed to resuming flight services earlier than the revised date should there be any easing of the current restrictions on the movement of people.
Vbeckers,
From their 7th April Rns;
"fastjet Zimbabwe expects that the significantly reduced global oil prices will help to cushion the financial impact of the forecast lower passenger demand when operations restart. The April 2020 fuel price is 35% lower than it was in January 2020, at which point fuel represented 23% of total operating costs."
I can only presume the Bod have the foresight to stock up on fuel, as it's clearly a huge cash burn.
If they do buy fuel and stock up during the low prices, and they resume their flights, for the short term they will be more profitable on costs.
And, I wholly expect flights not to be filled during the initial phase when flights return, which means less revenue on a full plane - but the reduced fuel costs may cushion that initial phased return (especially if the middle aisle seat won't be sold to assist with distancing).
Who knows, but if they can ride this horrendous time out, we won't be at the share price we are now.
All in my humble.....
Excellent,thank you.
1st June flights available to book at the earliest both HRE/BUQ to JNB
Try booking a flight to JNB...not available on the 20th.....
Things are all going good with fjet board are on top of things nice positive fibs and Iam still topping up on the shares
With Zimbabwe in dire straight at this time so looking for any income from any source I can see them opening up the skies to allow business people in and brave travellers, also Fastjet needs income to refill their coffers as well so the 20th might still be on, keep safe folks.
20/05 is probably ambitious, and I can see it being extended for at least another month.
The COVID cases in Africa are largely lower than ours, which is great on a human level, but on a business level for internal commutes - hopefully Fastjet starts to fly again.
Obviously precaution and hesitance will play it's part with any commuters, but if businesses slowly begin to restart, then so will transport links.
Ryanair have thrown down the gauntlet and said 40% of their flights will be running by the start of July.
ATB.
who is going to want to fly is the thing
What is people honest opinion on the above date, start flying again or still on lockdown?
Definitely time to get back in here.
GL to all when I said strong buy at 0.00055! You still owe me an apology(you know who)
As a general rule. it is not advisable to keep buying shares in a small, risky company when the price keeps going downhill. A 50% gain in this company’s share price recently is little solace to those still holding at a pound.
There is absolutely nothing i can say to help soothe the pain of losing / being down £80k.
All I said when I was £30k down was; it's gone, but I have a roof over my head, a beautiful girl on my arm (she's now gone....) family, friends and my health.
Yes - I've made mistakes.
Personally. Financially! And certainly physically but, we are all human and we all make mistakes.
Be kind to yourself.
Undoubtedly, it's a princely sum of money but focus on what you have. I'm sure you're an incredibly rich man.
Good luck, Sir.
Should be able to get back in at this rate before they go up. Fingers crossed
Vbeckers,
Mate, I feel your pain.
I was invested in LGO many years ago and had an ugly share average.
I had £30k invested, but it was worth around £3k at its lowest ebb.
I took a chance after new management came in and bought another £5k worth.
I had pretty much written off the £30k so thought "it's a new £5k and worth the risk" I was lucky and it paid off.
I managed to recoup my cash. It does not always work! Remember that!
But Fastjet has been hit really hard and the share price has plummeted far lower than where it should be.
If you have some faith in this company, a £1k investment at 0.10, and IF, it rides this storm out, I'd fail to see how 0.5 can't be reached. That x5 your £1k investment.
Of course its not the steady-ish 1.5 p it had been but you will recoup some cash.
I do not like to hear or see anyone down on their hard earned money.

As announced on 12 March 2020, with delays to the Disposal the Company had engaged with its main creditors, following which several creditors had agreed to defer due dates for repayments and/or have agreed to settlement discounts to current carrying values of their liabilities (the "Creditor Discounts"). The Creditor Discounts have reduced the Company's total liabilities by US$0.6 million to date.
Management remains in discussions with certain creditors and has identified additional discounts of between US$1.0 million and US$3.0 million (the "Additional Creditor Discounts), which would require additional capital for these to be realised. Such Additional Creditor Discounts would relieve significant pressure on the Company's current balance sheet obligations in the future
The BOD borrowing another $600k at 10% interest "suggests" that they think the Zimbabwe sale is going to go through and that they need to cash because that has all been delayed .... probably going to be 2 months later than they originally hoped
The buyers are also no doubt buying for that outcome
The sellers were just doing short term trades and took their profit
The question is - what will the end sell price for Fjet Zimbabwe be ?
Break,
I was in this years ago but not in a big way. Got out eventually at a loss but monitored events since. Decided to buy in a few days ago, and , like you watched the little pull back and thought it would continue. Clearly not going to happen so back in for more today.
Best of luck.
UR
Well that’s burst my bubble. Was hoping some negative chat would pull this back so we could get back in for more. Seems the new bottom is going to be at a higher level.

'Same people just try to be the focus of attention and talk absolute crap.'
I talk abolute crap but I don't try to be the focus of attention. I haven't managed to gell those two 'attributes' together. You have. You have a knack.
Same people just try to be the focus of attention and talk absolute crap. That’s the problem on here most good investors and contributors. But we have got some that try to sabotage the site dragging the chat of into insults. For my part I was asked to copy in my info sent to me from a pal in South Africa..... what to tell the idiots on here that set fourth on cheap attacks on others???
For my part I will be buying in more Monday, i hope the idiots drag the price down.
