Yep never been happier for all the US citizens descending on there round trips around Europe
Just 2 days of the selling of rights to go and once that selling pressure stops the sp will rise imv. We shall see.
All the indicators and sentiment points towards this continuing the rise tomorrow. Another 5% will keep things ticking along nicely. At this rate, Smithy might end up holidaying in Skeggy this year, after all! I don't think he'll quite have the funds left for St. Lucia... WHOOPS!!
Just not sure how far EZJ flies to those southern hemi countries. It is still largely a 'short haul' carrier.
"Most places are getting cooler now with fewer hours of sun". Don't forget the world is a sphere and there are countries where summer is just starting. Maybe you've not travelled into a place called the Southern Hemisphere?
Good little rise last week however most of us have ruled out holidays this year as still not clear if further lockdowns could be on the horizon. Most places are now getting cooler with fewer hours of sun . I expect the value in holidaying for a family has been eroded . It will be a very difficult winter for EZJ. Imo.
£7+ soon would be nice and might be achievable.
Might indeed get over £7 this week. Love your optimism but £12 by next summer seems a bit fanciful. That's equivalent to a pre-RI price of nearly £15. Would be ecstatic with this but also very surprised.
Go away Smithy, you talk so much rubbish..
Porsche- no surprise to me that Stelios has sold his rights - he has been challenging the current board over the last few years because they were 'investing' in a new fleet which he saw as wasting shareholder money. Don't think this is a dead cat, dead duck or dare i say it a dead parrot. Its very much alive , unlike the norwegian blue!
Luckily it seems to be playing out somewhat different to this and for a dead cat appears to be bouncing very vigorously.
At the time of writing the sp has now risen above the theoretical ex-rights price of 638p. This basically means that anybody who has taken up the rights is in a better position financially now than when the RI was announced. Quite unusual for an RI as sentiment usually goes the other way. The easing of travel restrictions has obviously helped and the rise may not be sustained but I for one am pleased that as it stands the RI has strengthened the balance sheet without reducing my investment. Very promising for the future.
LONDON (Reuters) - EasyJet’s biggest shareholder, the family of founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou, has decided not to participate in the British airline’s 1.2 billion pound rights issue and has sold its rights to buy new shares, a source familiar with the situation said.
That para tells you all you need to know, dead cat bounce over, 450 by Dec. Terminal.
Welshy, if you set aside sentiment and set aside the government easing of restrictions and just consider supply of shares and demand for shares , then a rights issue depresses a share price as more shares are released onto the market. In my experience that takes place over the first few days after the announcement and potentially again if there is a poor take up of the rights. My response to that is to buy the dips. I then try and factor in things like the easing of travel restrictions , which in this case I believe will have a positive effect . My guess is the shares will move with the market plus add around 5% next week. DYOR and good luck with whatever you decide and keep your eye on covid!
Good to see same healthy banter ....
I’ll throw it
Out there but what’s the consensus on taking up your rights?
Government announcement looks like the kick up the A@s the travel industry needed ..
B4 anyone chips in I know it’s my decision, but there appears to be a few knowledgeable people here
Smithy. You clearly know very little apart from how to massage your own fragile ego and belittle others. I'll pass on engaging with you and your trolling. All the best. You sound desperate.
Smithy if you can “read” I was referring to the average person (which actually impacts the company) not myself but no point labouring my point with someone with blinders on like yourself.
You mentioned Skegness not me so no point bringing up St Lucia now you already set the bar low.
"Travel is still filled with restrictions, red tape and uncertainty" - True but a lot less now than 24 hours ago. The SP has already recovered to nearly the equivalent of its pre-RI share price (638p is the new 789p) and though some of the news will be priced in there should be enough that isn't to push the price up from here. But like any sp nothing is certain and anybody that says otherwise is not worth paying attention to.
Smithy you miss the point the average person won’t be able pay for PCR tests as part of a cheap weekend trip abroad as it costs as much as the plane ticket. Some of your other points are fair but this 1 is nonsense.
I am doing ok just good to have an extra weekend trip alongside plenty of others so will leave Skegness to you (not heard anyone mention this to me since the 1990s)
Or people who missed out on a summer holiday take mid year breaks instead? That's what I am doing and friends and colleagues are similarly minded, sir.
Hi folks. Best of luck to Easyjet this week. I'm invested in IAG and we have very similar personalities on both threads. The haters/negative guys are however notable by their absence today. IAG I think will go on a bullish run but the big block now for BA is the transatlantic route. If that opened then it really would start burning rubber.
Best of luck
Should see a rise in bookings now. With the cheaper lateral flow after arrival. Obviously depends on the outbound requirements to a degree but people can pick and chose countries that allow entry with full vaccination and no testing. Yes the cost of PCR made a difference, but I think for a lot of people it was the hassle of it and the fear of testing positive abroad.
Yep saying PCR tests didn’t stop ppl travelling is nonsense. Just logically put yourself in that situation and it is clear it did and actually me and my wife are now going for a long weekend to Switzerland in Oct as we don’t have to pay extra money for PCR.
Got to love a bit of desperate trolling about all being priced in. It's clear that EasyJet is going to enter a bullish period. Many will see the announcement from Shapps this weekend and buy shares.
Sometimes investing isn't complicated. The bit that is priced in is the rumour. The bit that isn't priced in is the surge in bookings that is now happening and most importantly that's the bit that brings in the cash that starts the bigger turnaround. EasyJet is now cashed up and ready to be aggressive.

Smithy wouldn’t know what the bvi ‘s are like if they slapped him in the face . Still not said what his position is and to me comes across as a disgruntled former employee. My opinion
News already announcing there has been a sudden surge in holiday bookings since update.
Everyone trying to get the last bit of European sunshine and / or winter holiday.
Have a good weekend all
