Up4Anything - Agree, I did miss the patents, too much early evenign beer.
Not being an expert, it looks to me like Apple have positioned themselves to take on Facebook and Oculus.
Whereas Melody have always been about the content, not the hardware/software.
Do Apple want to be a publisher or just provide the platform/viewer is a reasonable question.
Maxda, think you may have missed out the patented technology that upscales video streams!
There could be a mad rush for shares in the morning:
Investors buying shares to go in their new ISAs before we get some big news. Hopefully both tomorrow!
So what have Apple bought
Some cameras
The right to broadcast NBA games in VR
A production team suited to the NBA stuff
Have I really missed anything of importance ?
PLUS, their timing was all wrong. They ploughed all their resources into a market with very little VR uptake. Apple know that NOW is the time to be marketing and pushing VR and I’m sure they will think they’re competition for Oculus/FB/EVRH going forward. This can only be a good thing as the more companies that promote VR live events the better - WE have the licensing agreements and content all ready to go
The problem Next had, although they didn't realise it was that they tried putting their VR into 'old-fashioned' headsets which only ever really appealed to gamers. At least Facebook with the stand-alone Oculus have made some headway, so Melody's timing was far more fortunate.
They failed to secure funding (something EVR have never failed to do). So half the staff had to go , their VR music efforts were cast to the four winds, and they were left with just minority sports.
Next are dead in the water and are not much more than a shell for Apple to use as they want. Personally I never did think they were any sort of competition for Melody
You should see me at a football match Denzal,
Even if I sold Ferrisc I would give you no respite Ferrisc.Basically I don’t like what you represent.Your a starry eyed moonie.
Last NextVR fund raising was when they raised $200 million from chinese investment fund. Back then the company was valued $1 billion. They also had a well presented venue of sport events that one could purchase. If $100 million is the current price tag, the Chinese investment became smoke on the water...let’s hope that EVR will turn into fire in the sky.
OPPTIMIST, never known anyone to be so negative in a stock they supposedly hold!!Hmmm
In which case Optimist you really should sell first thing in the morning. Then you can give us some respite from the tedious tripe you continue to post. Or are you looking to top up with your new ISA allowance so you want to post negatively to (in your imagination) drive the SP down? We all know you've done it before; sl*g the company off while you are loading up. Nasty, low and nasty.
I'm expecting good news this week, quite possibly blow your socks off news. It's been well telegraphed if you genuinely follow the company. You just have to put the pieces together.
Anyway, do us all a favour, sell and trot along.
I meant tomorrow, today is a time to pray.
If true it is vey bad news for Mvr.Nextvr could easily be turned in to a formidable competitor.Dont think licences or patents will be problem as money talk.If Facebook pull the rug out from under our feet we could go the same way.If there is no news today the sp is in for a rough ride. Its now or never IMO.
