Thanks for doing that D-G and sharing your findings too.
Yes it’s a lot more reassuring news - but maybe if EVE mentioned things like this without prompting it would allay some fears and hence not so many would have sold shares these past few months.
This is a small share of 274 million shares and at under 5p I would imagine most shareholders would have maybe 100,000 shares as a low average?
Nice one Geeman, thanks for the update.
I just had a reply from eve regarding their deliveries. It was actually very reassuring and makes the point that eve chose DX as they are capable of meeting the new (higher) level of sales that eve expects, and many of the challenges was because they were a new supplier just this summer, to bed-in for the busy period ahead. That's the gist of it anyway. Certainly makes sense so happy to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
Good point D-G.
If shareholders can just have patience. This should not have halved in SP value if they didn’t! But as always DYOR to feel if you can believe in EVE as I do. But a little bit more communication from would be welcome!
We should soon be moving in to the 'gravitational pull' of the next TU so hopefully you're right Yanis and this is more or less as low at it will go. I know some people are despondent but there will be enough who will take CC at face value when she says 2022 will show a profit. We've never been closer to 2022 than today!
Geeman, the SP is holding quite well at this level ands there aren’t many sellers down here.
Today, with the Ask at 3p I did some dummy buys and was quoted 3.09p for 50k shares. Had to go down to 10k shares to get a quote at 3p. If I had more spare cash right now, I will be buying.
Pictland, we got Brexit to thank for this. Yes, there is driver shortage world-wide but no problems with deliveries in the EU or anywhere else. The problem is here in UK.
I notice the price peaked +6.7% for a while, then a sell for a higher price (2.96p) than the previous sell, which brought the sp back down a bit.
Could there have been a large 'buy' that will only show later?
You're right Pict. And there'll be a contract that can't be ditched overnight (and who'd pick up the slack anyway?).
However, and it could be because they are rushing, some of the vans are driving near houses without stopping (people are tracking the vans these day!) and things are arriving damaged and abused, which is inexcusable.
If eve and the couriers just give accurate info (even if things are going to be late, by several days even) then at least people get the choice on whether to order or not and don't get cheesed off, cancel their order and send back damaged goods, and finally write a damning review which just puts someone else off from buying.
The courier problem is widespread and seems to be worse in southern England. The imposed lockdowns resulted in non UK drivers heading home and many have not come back. On top of that, enforced staff absence due to positive Covid tests is high just now. I don't think this will change or improve in the near future and will probably get worse as Christmas approaches. There simply aren't enough drivers or people willing to do the job and this combined with increased online ordering is a real problem. Hence, changing couriers will make little or no difference. It's more or less a case of like it or lump it.
If the couriers are letting the side down something should be done - like change couriers of new agreement with present with a financial penalty clause for missed deliveries by said couriers or as maybe there are presently industry wide difficulties better and clear communication with customers explaining the issues — and if necessary delaying delivery times but to a guaranteed realistic delivery date - no one wants to be waiting for a delivery ( maybe had had to take a day off work) and the delivery not to appear!
Very disappointing if EVE sales are being let down by this!
Dontgive, I agree with what you say except on the profits side where they did say ‘consistently profitable in 2022' quite often and haven’t rowed back on that (haven’t said anything in fact!).
There was a very good post on another site on Tuesday. This is what Sarahstevens mentioned, which could apply to eve:
'I’m not a regular AIM investor but I do work in venture capital so invest in lots of early stage business (admittedly usually pre-product or pre-revenue) so have some experience in assessing high-potential businesses. We usually look across 3 key areas, product, market & team.'
'To my mind he (in eve’s case, CC) has no obligation to go above and beyond the standard AIM disclosure requirements and has only disclosed information when required to. A CEO should act in the long-term interest of shareholders and stakeholders – not in the interest of bumping up the share price on any small piece of news.’
I don’t expect a running commentary from CC and think she is going to make eve a success. The fact that there’s no news on gifts at Xmas isn’t something she’s responsible for as it was something we just expected after last Christmas rather than were told was coming. The CBD is rather different in that we were told it was coming. Having said that we were also told it was a licensed product more to get the eve brand some publicity and test the market rather than be a big money-spinner. It probably just falls short of being particularly news worthy though we should hear in December with the mini TU announcement.
I am rather worried by the couriers. DX are defo losing sales for eve. The reviews of DX are terrible, both on the eve TP page and DX’s own TP page. I did drop a quick note to customer services this morning on the subject and should get a reply in 4 days. The auto reply asked for patience from customers with deliveries as the courier is stretched.
What are eve and DX going to do when Black Friday comes along? People stay home to receive mattresses and the couriers are just not turning up on occasions. It’s a big deal if almost everything you sell is delivered by courier.
We should be getting an update early December but If they are winning awards they should be announcing them when they occur. Also, new product launches, including CBD should also be announced - it doesn’t have to be an RNS, a tweet will do. We should suggest this to them in next investor meeting.
Seems EVE are winning lots of awards whilst they appear to be very lacking in communications to shareholders!
The Christmas range?
The CBD range?
The possibility of profitability?
The share price has tumbled to 1/2 what it was a few months ago.
What’s happening EVE?
Silence!
(This relates to last year's Well Slept collection I believe, which makes it more surprising they haven't done it again – so far. Surely can't be stuck in containers in Felixstowe?)
