Thanks for that Big Dano. I do read the Avacta board but currently decorating 3 bed house with a deadline, and miss a lot. Very helpful thanks.
D Geeman - In the interest of being helpful you should read my posting history as I have shared my views on SKIN on the avcta BB. In brief I'm familiar with some of the snr mgt team in SKIN and I would not put a penny in the company because of their presence. Just like I'm invested in Eve I'm familiar with our chairman here and that's one of the reasons I invested here..
Thanks Wyndrum. I knew of your interest in skin, and Avact of course; I was wondering whether you were waiting for skin to become a bargain or already had some. I have a very very small amount of cash available to may pick some up this week. As you say, it’s a good price. It’s a shame the avact and skin BBs are so bitter. We are fortunate to have helpful posters on Eve I feel.
Morning DG, Skin was weird one, shares have done well over the last few months on the back of expected good news, the good news comes and the shares almost collapse...
I think they are a good buy at these prices because there is more "good" news to come. I had bought in at good levels but this time I could not move quickly enough to bank those profits. Personally, although this is on no import to anyone, whereas I have almost everything in AVCT now, I had a very small position in Skin, so I have taken a loss overall, but I my get back in on Monday. But then again AVCT are reporting on Monday and it will be dependent on how the market reacts to that report that will determine my actions from there. The only other stock I have is BooHoo which did well enough and I would expect the press, although doing their best to hinder SP rises, will go to all time highs on the back of their results on the 30th.
Wyndrum, you mentioned you were musing on Skin, waiting for news on Thursday. May I enquire whether the skin 25% drop yesterday suited you? Sorry to be off-topic but it's the W/E.
another thought.. don't assume just because you're a CEO that you're loaded. I've got a feeling much of CC's take-home is in shares and share options. Not exactly the sort of thing you can just sell a few to go shopping as that would startle investors ;-)
Any quoted company will likely have a formal window that opens and closes when insiders can buy. This probably won't count all employees. After formal H1 results and before the run up to the next update, there might be a month or two? window.
Now if you had £5k kicking about, and knowing what you know, wouldn't you want it to be invested in Eve?
Especially if the company investment in growing the market share and the market works out as hoped later this year and next. You'd kick yourself if all was on offer what 9p and people chit-chatting about how long it was taking to break 10p
CC might have her existing shares in a ISA and then has added to reach the 20K limit for this tax year. GLA
Well that rules out any bod sanctioned merger / takeovers for the foreseeable
You never know DG, you never know! anyway I am just musing while I wait for some news on SKIN. As I say its not bad news, just seems a bit odd that's all.
Hi wyndrum, I like to think the token purchase might be one that CC can quote in months (years???) to come. I don't think it can be seen as a gesture to support the s.p. ( if it was, then it's hardly done the job today! )
CC has a mountain of share options at extremely attractive exercise prices anyway. But perhaps in time to come she can say " I bought some myself for 4.85p, and what a good investment that turned out to be..."
DYOR !!!
It’s a signal and perhaps she’ll do the same every couple of weeks. We’ve all bought (probably all anyway) and seen a drop so why should she be different. Maybe waiting for 3.6p too!
Hi Ga, but what point? And Max, £5k to a CEO of a listed company is not likely to have the same meaning or worth, compared to a J.A.M family or individual.
I agree its not "bad" news, but had she put in 20 times that amount then that's a better sign of confidence. I don't know, it's just such a silly amount that to me, raises more questions then answers.
(A possible negative explanation, which I don't at this stage think is true, could be the small amount will get forgotten and the "headline" will be "CEO buys shares in own company" thereby giving the SP an artificial boost. and before you jump all over me Its been done before, directors buying their own stock to support the SP rather than buying them for expected growth)
I assume then that she cannot exercise any of the 4.3m options she holds at this point in time (or are they potentially underwater?). Maybe there is more to come here. I any event I like it.
Only a token purchase, but could be making a point.
A bit of pocket money for her, true...but I never known anyone throwing 5k away....
Make of it what you likes but bad news it is definitely not...
hmm... that's weird... why would cc buy such a low, low amount of shares. It, to me, has the opposite effect of confidence. I imagine most share holders here have the same or probably a lot more. Plus she must have options. What a strange thing to do... Any ideas anyone?
Always a good sign when directors and CEO dipping into their pockets to buy shares....if good for them(with theirs inside knowledge....)then I am comfortable myself to follow....
GLA.
A few anyway.
