Just ordered a Sloth. That should put some pep in the SP on Monday morning!
I'm reeling from the admission that Bermondsey bought an Emma..
Regarding website traffic, is it updated regularly do you think. Maybe wait till the end of October (and add a day or two) before drawing too many conclusions?
This is a headline from the Independent, yesterday. Maybe people are going to wait for Black Friday from now on, and it's affecting October (I'd wait myself – yes WAIT)
Best Black Friday mattress deals 2020: Offers to expect from Emma, Simba, Eve Sleep and more Don’t miss a wink (or a bargain) with the biggest shopping event of the year. Louise Whitbread https://www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/black-friday/best-black-friday-mattress-deals-emma-simba-eve-2020-sales-offer-b1199959.html
'In previous years, leading mattress brands such as Eve, Casper and Emma, have offered discounts of 30 per cent, sometimes more, with the same expected this year, if not bigger savings..........Eve Sleep also saw some impressive reductions, its original memory foam mattress super king came down from £606.94 to £426.99 and its original memory foam mattress small double was slashed from £324.99 to £259.99.'
Agreed! From recent results it looked like the effectiveness of marketing is improving - I'm just surprised not to have seen anything whatsoever. In such a fragmented market I would have expected more visibility - early days.
As you say, she has a very impressive marketing CV so I trust that she knows what she's doing. Results will hopefully reflect that :)
I suppose this is Cheryl's strategy - tactical marketing. Maybe youtube ads just don't deliver the profitable return on investment EVE is looking for. Cheryl has a pretty decent marketing cv, I saw in an interview this is the first role she's taken which doesn't have 'marketing' in the title. I would take a £100 reduction in sales for a £20 improvement in gross profit any day of the week, we just have to assume she knows what she's doing until we see more results
I seem to be getting A LOT of Simba adverts on Youtube videos. I think it's because every morning I google Eve share price so they think I'm interested in buying a mattress.
Very disappointed in the lack of Eve marketing - I haven't seen anything. I understand there is a campaign in the works as per the most recent update?
Are you using traffic estimation sites such as similarweb for this data ?
ÈVE seems to be using affiliate schemes rather than paid ads or remarketing.
Perhaps they see better ROAS and visibility via affiliâtes to grow reach rather than paying to push to convert people that may have already bought.
I've been getting Simba ads on youtube all the time. Perhaps because I've been reading reviews of the mattress companies on trustpilot.
The lower web traffic this month seems to be consistent with fewer Trustpilot reviews so while its not scientific it does all seem to tie together. Negative reviews seem to relate to either degradation of mattresses bought over a year ago or customer service issues. My impression is that Eve were operating at capacity for August/September which could explain service complaints. I guess a lot of supply chains and manufacturing capacity have been rigorously tested by C-19 and these types of challenges are expected
I get plagued by adverts for Emma (possibly because I bought one). Haven't come across any marketing from eve whatsoever in some time.
That’s interesting on website traffic.
One related question (as I don’t watch much tv); has anyone seen any adverts related to the eve tv campaign they referenced in the interims as of yet?
I’m long on Eve. Website traffic for retail looks slightly lower than last month. Eve is down 11% traffic organic compared to last month. Paid traffic is up. There was a spike last month but traffic seems consistent from the last highs in May. I’m a little bit on the fence on sales at the moment unless there’s a big uptick in traffic. Not exact science so could be wrong!
Hi HedgeHogarth, seen nil contribution from you on this board recently. How about sharing some analysis rather than complaining about the quality of the content. This isn't a newspaper.
I don't see an issue with exchanging a couple of slightly off topic messages with some of the regular contributors for a more rounded discussion.
If you don’t like a post then filter, skip to the next or go skulking around another board. It’s easy
On eve. I see that certain if the bed frames that were out of stock such as the ‘Storage’ are now back in stock. I’m going to make a couple of assumptions on that a) sales are good as items are selling out (and good to see that includes big ticket items) and b) eve have a good handle on inventory management as saleable stock seems to have replenished relatively quickly.
Out of interest, would anyone care to make a counter argument as to why eve should not have a v good Q4? They’re in a buoyant consumer area in homewares, they are predominantly online and they now have a broad range of products both for core market (mattress, bedding etc) and holiday season small item gifting (ie the well slept range).
Can we get back to EVE please
EHum, I doubt many will be interested but I recently put a couple of £K into Snowflake Inc (snow) in the US. It's a very long term hold for me but I have the expectation it'll serve me well. I've made 7% in a month or so. I just think cloud storage is going to get bigger rather than smaller. It won't double in a few days so not for everyone.
Thanks for the suggestions, trading in ANG is certainly light (!). Looks like everyone has gone fishing.
@ErrHum I have a couple of companies with decent eCommerce propositions on a watchlist list. My top pick would be ANG: leading online fishing distributor poised for a resurgence in fishing from the staycation. It has a growing European presence, is turning into profit and has a very large net cash balance (almost half of Mcap in cash). It's in a very similar financial position to EVE. It took a beating after the recent in line trading announcement. I have a small amount of BWNG, seeing where that goes. Others on my watchlist with an interesting eCommerce proposition but which I don't currently hold are SOS, CBOX, HOTC
Errhum - there seems to me surprising few like eve around in this market. I did look at G4M but too late and they’ve moved now and look fair value to me. So, like you I can’t see anything else comparable to eve re: an online retailer substantially undervalued with real ‘new normal’ growth potential.
POLX offers enormous potential at the moment DYIOR
got a few more - I keep looking for other companies debt free, with cash in the bank and set up for online transition.
This is the best one I can find - anyone know of others I should look at?
EVE must be keeping an eye on the share price, they normally email marketing on a Sunday. However during this dip they have emailed regarding Sloths back in stock.
