We don’t know who walker away on the American thingy — it was reported as initially being an interested investor which morphed into an offer - perhaps it was an unacceptable offer of a few pence per SP or something and EVE May have walked away in disgust - we just don’t know!
CC completely destroyed all sentiment.
The message she gave the market is sale or bust.
Also, sale isn’t likely implied by the American investor that looked in to it and decided to walk away.
With the current obliterated sentiment, by the time a sale happens, if it happens (big if IMO) the SP is likely to be at 0.1p or less … and 1p offer will look more than fair.
Continued silence will see to it.
When shareholders sell, which is their right, the SP will fall!
Bid down to 0.65p ….
Where to next?
I won't even try to predict but if an offer appears that seems too low it may well draw other bidders into the open; everyone likes a bargain.
Debenhams and Woolworth went bust and they were big names. I'm trying to understand why these big brands went under and no one thought to value the name. See if there are message for us. Huge debt was the obvious problem (doesn't yet apply to eve) and being tied to the high street, not keeping up with customers' desires and not evolving, being out manoeuvred by the competition – again not true for eve. For me it means that there is value in the brand (it's cost £ms to get to mattress brand number 5) and someone can buy that brand, harness the brand awareness, for a few £m now. Or they could start from scratch and spend £m's themselves, getting to the same place.

"Yes I am aware one can be forced to sell ones shares in a vote situation - but just highlighting I would not willingly sell for less than 10p as I see value in EVE ( even now).
GLA".
Sorry Dontgiveup but this will NEVER sell at 10p I'm afraid. 1p if you're very, very lucky. But good luck to you.
Correction ‘Lets’ —- it the auto correction thingy!
Lear’s just hope the EVE board will do all shareholders proud and be negotiating well into the nights during this FSP time.
Correction * everyone can remain civil
It’s good to have opposing views ( especially when every can remain civil). Obviously one set of views will prove correct over time - we shall see. But I’m optimistic all will be well with EVE and shareholders who hold on - but time will tell!
Yes I am aware one can be forced to sell ones shares in a vote situation - but just highlighting I would not willingly sell for less than 10p as I see value in EVE ( even now).

DGU we have DYOR hence the posts on here maybe we are all wrong and you are right but even you must realize it's not looking good for EVE regardless of a buyout it won't be a lot 2p i think if we're lucky
yes is a dilemma i'm mortgage free on both properties my rule of thumb is pay your debts first....then worry about other things can see the lure of the markets but not the AIM unless you can afford to lose...as we both know
Why does everyone sound to have given up with EVE when there is no solid news!
So we are up 7% compared to 2020. We started off with 4.5 million in cash out extra added into the normal stock holdings.
Management are trying a FSP to either find a buyer ( only if the buyer can acknowledge the value of EVE) or alternatively an additional investor - to raise capital so the business can expand quicker. I just don’t see the panic here!
As always DYOR to reach your own conclusions !
Soton, we sound like we have similar lives! (You and I are very similar ages.) Rental property too, still with some mortgage and the plan was to use my 'earnings' on AIM to pay off the mortgages in around 3 years. Fortunately mortgages are not large but will have to sell the ISAs instead, or get another loan of some sort. A lot can happen in 3 years though, and just maybe my AIM stuff will come good (AVCT + Angle; might just happen). The annoying thing is that, had I put the cash into paying off the mortgages instead of AIM they'd have been paid off before they will mature.
Still, if I didn't have the personality to take a bit of a risk I would never have bought the buy-to-let and that's what's allowed the foray into investing..
I still work have a rental property that is let with a steady income and a bit invested in the market i took a punt on this never again....big profits but a big risk on the AIM.....not 60 for a couple of years so plan to retire if i can afford to then so mainly go for high yield dividend stocks and reinvest have a couple of pensions as well how about you?
Yes Soton, if you don't want the sale at the offered (and generally accepted by 75%) price it's a bummer. A bit like compulsory purchase of a property.
I don't have any 'safe' shares. I have some tracker ISAs but wanted to have some more risky (also more potentially profitable shares) that I could choose myself. It was briefly a good plan (why oh why didn't I sell ALL on the day of the CBD spike?) but now gone horribly wrong.
My average here, on eve, is sub 4p, nearer 3.5p, so I guess I still have a faint chance of getting some back but I'm 70% down atm and it's my biggest % of my PF.
To get back to 19p for you is a tough one isn't it. I hope you're not down too much and sorry for not remembering if you've previously given a figure.
If I get out of this scrape I will definitely play things a bit more 'safe' and follow you away from AIM.
At least we both have 'diversified' which is a saving grace.
DG It's not good when you have no control of your money as to what a company does with it... think this is done read a piece from Michael2021 earlier today sez he put 7k into this at 30p a share i'm not that deep but have lost a bit 19p a share i paid lesson learned....have a couple of ftse 250 stock the rest are ftse100 GSK LLOY VOD etc all good divi payers and i would like to think a safe bet although nothing is certain in the stock market GLA
I agree Soton. Didn't know it was 75%. My rump of my Avast has had the same thing happen (I'd sold 99.9% at a small profit) but I only kept one share as a 'bookmark', intending to buy back in in the future. At least I will sell my single share without paying a fee, so suits me.
I think they'll be in radio silence till 7am one morning.
This made me laugh, on the eve site. https://www.evesleep.co.uk/products/the-sleep-away-mattress
Scroll right down to the reviews. They have one good TP review and a 1 star review to provide two opposing views. But the one star review is actually a good review, so visitor only reads two good reviews :)
I wonder if its been done on purpose or just happenstance
Hi all well us few.....DGU you posted...."I shan’t wiling be selling any of my shares for less than 10p a share.
And I have emailed and said this to EVE" I don't think you have much choice if 75% of share holders agree to sale say at 5p a share then sold they are i know i hold GLO google them anyway i brought in at 189p being brought out at 264p or there abouts gutted as this paid an excellent divi quarterly i don't want to sale but think i have no choice as majority holders are selling
Thanks for your continual research and also for sharing it to D-G.
I’m not finding anything to report at present.
EVE are definitely good at keeping things secret!
I wonder whether this really will be 'unused'. They aren't returning it to Argos anyway so that's good

I stopped reading them both dontgive, around a week ago.. They were always a lot less lively than here and ADVFN just hosts rows. I used to read occasionally and chipped in now and again but what's the point. There was a guy on Telegram, Andy? who is genuine, but I think he sometimes reads LSE anyway.
A long time ago there was a gem of info on telegram and I repeated it here – but it was a long time ago.
What’s the general consensus on the Telegram group D-G.
I do sometimes look at the ADVFN group but conclude it often seems a nasty attacking group!
Not sure what the Telegram group is or how to access it.
