As per the mining.com article I posted the other day the only mineral that there is more of than zinc in or on a wind turbine is copper.

Could any one possibly tell me what product could possibly galvanise the turbines and store the battery power??
Green Capital Development will invest 111 million to create two new wind farms in Igüeña and Noceda del Bierzo
The Industry and Energy Area of ??the Government Sub-delegation in León submits to public information the request for administrative authorization and the environmental impact study of the Acario and Tureno wind farms, which the company Green Capital Development plans to build in several municipalities in the region del Bierzo. Both the wind turbines and the associated evacuation infrastructures affect the municipalities of Igüeña, Noceda del Bierzo, Toreno and Cubillos del Sil. As specified in this Friday's edition of the Official State Gazette (BOE), the joint budget for both actions exceeds 111 million euros.
Both parks will have an installed power of 54 MW and will be made up of 13 and 14 wind turbines respectively. In the case of the Acario park, the evacuation of the generated energy will be carried out through underground lines that will lead it to a transformer substation. From there, an 8.5-kilometer high-voltage overhead line is intended to be created up to the junction with the branch from the other wind farm.
This other infrastructure, baptized as the Tureno wind farm, will also have its own transformer substation, from where a 3.5-kilometer overhead line will emerge to the common junction. From this point on, the energy generated in both parks will reach the Compostilla collecting substation through a new 17.5 kilometer long evacuation infrastructure.
From now on, it corresponds to the General Directorate of Energy Policy and Mines of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge to dictate the resolutions of prior administrative authorization of the facilities, while the General Directorate of Quality and Environmental Assessment of the same Ministry will will be in charge of formulating the environmental impact statements. Those interested have 30 business days to examine the file of the facilities and submit allegations on the website of the Government Delegation in Castilla y León, as well as in person at the Industry and Energy Area of ??the Government Subdelegation in León, with appointment.
ZINC might be the answer here??
TOD-33, blimey we're cracking on! Been wondering if these press articles and the silence from our own corporate development might be pointing towards a hybrid 50-50 public-private funding initiative, each half of the deal requiring the other? Just a hunch.

Once crushed, the ore will be transferred to the flotation process, whereby "first lead and then zinc, they are separated from the rest of the ground material, concentrating from an initial grade of around 4% to a grade of about 61% in the case of Zn concentrate and 70% in the case of Pb." The process ends with the processing of the waste to dry deposit it in a rubbish dump on the surface and wet back to the mine.
The product is transferred by bulk truck to a foundry, such as the one found in Castrillón (Asturias), to obtain high purity zinc, lead and silver after refining.
Currently, the Europa Metals project is in a time of Exceptional Extension for three years to maintain the research and has already been presented to the municipalities of Sobrado, Carucedo, Toral de los Vados, Carracedelo and Borrenes. Until November 15, 2023, Europa Metals will continue to design its mining project in Toral to submit the application for the Grant of Operation in the shortest possible time.
The consultancy Bara Consulting has been developing its conceptual study of the project especially in the areas of metallurgy, resource estimation and geotechnics something that will be announced to give birth to a Pre-Viability Study (PFS). Within that study, the company Probes and Industrial Drillings of Bierzo SA (SPI) is carrying out a new drilling campaign since the beginning of this year.
With the data from that survey, the data will be processed to develop software "that corrects the deviation of the boreholes carried out by drilling with core recovery," the company explains. At the same time, the company seeks support for its project as an R&D focus.
In this sense, he assures that professors of the Faculties of Biology or Geology of the University of Salamanca, of Biodiversity at the University of León, as well as of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, and researchers from departments such as Biodiversity and Environmental Management, through departments such as Ethnobotany, Taxonomic and Plant Conservation at the University of León or the Mining, Petrology of the Complutense of Madrid, contribute from the academic field their technical solvency to contribute to the technical, social and environmental standards of the so-called Toral Project.

Europa Metals is preparing to produce zinc, lead and silver in Toral since 2023
COMPANY The multinational has already invested in the Bercian project, which is currently under investigation, 5 million and plans to hire 200 employees
Europa Metals Iberia SL, a subsidiary of Europa Metals Ltd, a company registered in Australia, intends to land in Toral de los Fords with a project to produce zinc, lead and silver in Bierzo, an idea that is under investigation and could start operating in three years.
Under the name of Proyecto Toral, the multinational frames in Bierzo its most important business activity in Castilla y León. Since 2007 he has studied the recovery of an enclave that has taken advantage of previous studies from the 1980s. Building on a previous mining operation "drastically reduces the visual impact of the project," explains the company.
After mapping the exploitation and examining the geochemistry of the soils, the work has determined "anomalies in Zn, Pb and Ag whose extension has been verified with surveys. In total, more than 100 mining research surveys have been carried out, with depths of up to 1,285 meters." These works define a "mineral deposit of about 3 kilometers in length and thickness varying around 3 meters. The recognized depth is about 900 meters although the deposit is open in depth."
15 years of activity and 2nd jobs
The deposit contains the order of 16 Mt of ore, according to the first studies and an extraction of 450,000 tons per year of ore is expected as a base - with the possibility of expansion. That offers a life to the project of about 15 productive years but it will take between 2 and 3 years for its construction.
Annual production is estimated at 16,500 tons of zinc, 15,000 tons of lead and 8,000 kilograms of silver. As for the employment you will need to carry out the project, it will be 200 workers directly.
The investment that Europa Metals has made so far exceeds 5 million euros. The idea is that half of the sterile generated returns to the mine and it is expected that the surface deposit will be about 2.6 Mm3. The method of exploitation takes into account that filling of the interior of the mine with the sterile generated.
Access to the mine will be through a ramp and well and the method that is being evaluated as the most appropriate is that of mechanized cutting and filling. Once extracted, the ore will pass through a ramp to the crusher on the upper levels. For most of the deposit the ore will be extracted by well, which will give way to the tape that reaches the processing plant.
Jobs created
El Bierzo receives 1.4 million for the creation of jobs in 11 mining municipalities of the region
The Governing Council approved this morning, on a proposal from the Ministry of Employment and Industry, a set of subsidies, worth 3.6 million euros, aimed at hiring the unemployed in the municipalities of the mining basins of León and Palencia. This aid is part of the measures included in the Economic Revitalization Plan of the Mining Municipalities of Castilla y León that seeks to favor the diversification of productive activity in the mining basins of the Community, so that, after the end of coal mining, these territories have alternatives for their economic and social development and can fix population.
The incentives approved this morning are aimed at the 31 municipalities of the mining basins protected by Royal Decree 675/2014 of August 1, 24 of them in the province of León and 7 in the province of Palencia. The aid will allow the beneficiary municipalities to finance part of the salary and social security costs derived from the hiring of people registered as unemployed with the Public Employment Service of Castilla y León (Ecyl) for the realization of works and services of general and social interest. In this way, in addition to favoring job creation, the subsidies will allow local entities to improve public spaces and services of their competence. The Junta de Castilla y León will also advance 50% of the amount committed, in order to facilitate the management of the program at a time of economic difficulties for all public administrations, forced to face extraordinary expenses to respond to the emergency generated by COVID-19.
The subsidies will serve to finance a maximum amount of 10,000 euros per worker by facilitating the hiring of about 360 workers, over a period of 180 days. Employment contracts should preferably be directed to surplus unemployed in the mining sector and, in their absence, to young people under 35 years of age - in particular, without qualifications - long-term unemployed, unemployed over 45 years of age, unemployed women (especially victims of gender violence), people with disabilities, people at risk of social exclusion, immigrants, returned migrants and refugees or asylum seekers and other ethnic minorities.
Post not poet!!!
OMG Bobby I don't know you personally but your poet has really made me smile!!!! Maybe it's my turn let's not get to excited as it has happened before awaiting Mets results, we all thought we were going to be minted!!!!!! Good luck to us all though!!!!
Luckily I ordered some smelling salts after the 'not expecting a placing' post earlier so I'm just conscious thanks. When you think in terms of mcap £2 isn't loony at all IMO, that's the SP by the way :) If we were to get some more local help and delay having to dilute the asset with a partner or take on the burden of bank debt then really the discounts you have to apply to the NPV due to not being funded start to diminish drastically. Let's see if we've got something before getting the calculator out, certainly an intriguing period approaching though.
Shed has just read your post and has fainted Bobby!
By the time he or she wakes up, hopefully we will be above 50p!
Europa Metals is on the verge of graduating to a producer imo. Good things come to those that wait and lth's here fully deserve their reward! GLA.
I would take the $79,000,000 to build the mine it’s got to be happening otherwise why would they be showing a slide show of job and supplier types that a Toral mine would need? It’s going to go just need the ink on the paper work from Government. Tweets are there from Europa Metals
A Deliverable mining project...Can’t wait for the results from that TOD 029 hole
Blimey Stevenc. Are you in my house! That's exactly where they're kept.
Quite, and they've nurtured the local engagement meticulously for years. By taking on the graduates from Salamanca Uni they have demonstrated just the tip of the iceberg of what Toral could do for the region. Reading Bricks' post it's difficult not to get carried away, it could have been written for us! Right it's about now we normally get royally kicked in the n*ts! :)
One of your sandals is on the EDL board...
Shed, the Junta's have serious clout. It's a major positive they are continuing to engage. If this was a no-go, they simply would not be bothering IMO.
With that kind of money they could nationalise us! Sounds bonkers but the world has changed. Still highly unlikely of course but just read on Wiki that Spain's regions operate with the second highest level of autonomy from central government in the world (after Germany) so the Junta has clout.
Grappa, Are you a modern-day Lady Godiva?
Your sandals are under the stairs.
If we get 100m grant, I'm buying the biggest Spanish flag money can buy to go with my EU flag and running down the street naked. I just need to find my sandals.....
Ha ha yes lucky I didn't say €100m for the paella catering concession :)
