GFD I've got a friend who is a permaculture teacher and worked as a waste manager for Lothian council. He ferments all of his families bio-waste by leaving it in insulated bins, it gets to a high enough temperature to kill harmful bacteria and it makes very good fertiliser. The downside is ****ting in a bucket of spruce needles but it's free and literally anyone could do it for themselves
perhaps you should tell him how effing cold it gets there
Apologies for not replying to some erudite explanations concerning drift mining and washplants in the winter-been out with my friend whom I have known since 13 years of age. He said why on earth in this technological age, can no one come up with a solution for keeping the washplants working in the winter. I read that the solution was to urinate on the ice!!by other erudite posters.
GFD the Daleks were easy to defeat, all you need do is lead them down an uneveneny levelled paved or brick path then on to cobbles and finally
Gravel path, totally fooooked !!
This Doris (share) is definitely on the drag (behind on time ) but then that's Normal For Norfolk
Plenty of famous yellowbellies here gfd.

Indeed GFD, I did actually understand your perspective, but couldn't resist.
Me too Lincolnite.
Wouldn't want to be anything other than a yellowbelly.
Yellowbelly and proud GFD, very proud! ;-)
P.s urine (of the human variety) has a lower freezing point :-)
And if they replace all the hydraulic oil in the machinery with unicorn wee, they might be able to keep the Russian winter at bay for a few more weeks :-)
GAZA, water freezes......wash plant won't worky.
Real life or dramatised mining doesn't dictate the laws of physics......Google it :-)

It takes quite a bit of digging through their systems to find the relevant parts tbh. The other 2 could possibly be Pentlandite creek and possibly something to account for the green area south of Poaz on Richards provided overlay map.

"Conclusions and recommendations:
• as a result of the completed enlarged geological and economic assessment of platinum-metal objects of the Monchegorsk ore region, it can be argued that in modern conditions, the Vuruchuayvench deposit (with the Plast "330", Yuzhnosopchinsky, Arvarench sites), as well as the tubing ore occurrence and the site Loipishnyun in the general GOK can be worked out highly profitably and are of commercial interest; • the facilities include the Plast section "330" with simplified access to the ore, as well as enriched with platinum group metals section Vuruchuayvench (S [Pt + Pd] ˜ 3.29 g / t, in
including Pd ˜ 2.9 g / t), which allows us to expect fast payback of capital investments; • it is recommended to carry out additional exploration of the deep horizons of the Vuruchuaivench deposit with the calculation of reserves; • assess the condition of the exploration well, which was passed to the Sopchi vein massif below Plast "330", as well as the possibility of selective mining of this vein massif using modern tunneling and small-sized equipment; • carry out a separate feasibility study of conditions for ore occurrence Nittis-Kumuzhya-Travyanaya; • based on additional data from the exploration of the listed objects, taking into account new information on the Poaz ore occurrence to develop TPP for long-term development of Monchegorsk ore region."

Jees.
Have you not seen Gold Rush on Sky?
One mad rush to run the final pay load before the water freezes.
Rattle, it's not the type of mining that puts time constraints on the longevity of the mining season. It's the low temperatures that dictate how long the 'processing season' lasts.
When the temp drops below zero and water freezes the wash plant can't operate.
Eurasia have extended the amount of time they can work at W.K this year by clearing trees and soil/soft rock even before the wash plants were operational.
Just caught up with this incredible news. Now one question for the mining experts. IS there a possibility for a drift mine to expand the mining to a full year?
That is phenomenal. We are talking about a huge - almost mythical premium to where we are now.
I've just done the maths and all I can think in a Nicola Sturgeon kind of way is 'Fan Dabby Dosy'.
So looking forward to the future with my EUA holding.
Great work Ethio.
Respect.
Since the beginning of the year, 300 samples have been sent to the Irkutsk laboratory specializing in precious metals. Glimmers of sulfides shimmer in the core from the depth, and where they are, platinum should be nearby. Monchegorsk raw materials, according to geologists, are complex, rich, containing gold and palladium.
Vladimir Ivanchenko, a leading geologist at North-West PGO of the Rosgeologia holding: "Each gram of palladium now costs $ 50, 500 tons is 5 million grams, multiplied by $ 50 is $ 25 billion." (** woooooow**)
The drillers have done their job, but must return in the fall. If the laboratory gives the go-ahead to drill and drill, at least a decade will pass from development to production.(***meaning the place is full of it ?? ) But the resource, no matter how pleasant it is to listen, is still only predictive. The investor will show up if they prove that the object is really worthwhile and large. ( This is where EUA step in. now you see what Firstove is with us???? )
Leading geologist of North-West PGO of Rosgeologia holding Vladimir Ivanchenko: "Are you pinching your fingers? - Yes, pinching your fingers and hope that the city will heal a new life - literally."

“In the last field season, our geologists have coped with all the tasks set. Geochemical works have been carried out to identify anomalies of precious metals and associated elements, a large amount of drilling work has been carried out to verify the nature of localized anomalies and to reveal the alleged ore zones, ”said Konstantin Firstov, head of North-West PGO JSC. “Based on the preliminary assessment, good results have been obtained, which are now undergoing final examination by the customer.” (*** and who is this guy Firstov talking about final examination by a customer? that would be our new CEO – you do the maths ??) Good luck all !

WILL MONCHEGORSK BECOME A NEW "PLATINUM CAPITAL"? GEOLOGISTS, SCIENTISTS AND INDUSTRIALISTS ON THE VERGE OF DISCOVERING A PROMISING DEPOSIT OF STRATEGIC RAW MATERIALS
03.03.2020
Today, on the eve of the start of the International Arctic Forum in St. Petersburg, Rosgeologia presented a report on geological work in the Arctic zone. We are talking, in particular, about the object near Monchegorsk, where within walking distance is a possible promising platinum deposit.
The drilling near Monchegorsk has been making noise since the new year. Specialists from the Pskov region, Novgorod, St. Petersburg are making their way into the bowels of the earth around the clock - they are looking for strategic raw materials - precious platinum. A dozen of wells have already been drilled. This one is literally on the sidelines of the "primer". Unprecedented luck - the logistics are perfect. Nearby there is a city, a railway. Ready infrastructure "at hand". It will not be difficult to organize production and processing at a minimum cost.
Oleg Orlov, head of the party for exploration of solid minerals at North-West PGO of the Rosgeologia holding: "The deepest well I have is 530 meters, can you imagine - half a kilometer deep."
The North-West is considered to be a highly studied area, the search is an expensive history, and there are many risks. It also managed to secure federal funding. The object is promising. Monchegorsk - the firstborn of copper and nickel metallurgy - now has every chance to become the capital of platinum. "Outperform" Norilsk and South Africa. Preliminary conclusions - the content of platinoids is high, the thickness of the ore horizons is up to 50 meters. Dig up the precious ore and here it is, "under your feet", practically on the surface.
Vladimir Ivanchenko, a leading geologist at North-West PGO of the Rosgeologia holding: "Now it stands on the balance sheet of 150 tons - already a high category that can be mined, plus our 163 tons, that is, 300 tons of predicted resources in the Monchegorsk region."
Oleg Orlov, head of the party for the exploration of solid minerals at North-West PGO of the Rosgeologia holding: "We can already find 1.5-2 grams per ton for platinum, now we are waiting for an analyst to confirm the results."
Geology is a capricious "lady". Geologists are in no hurry to give hope to themselves and others. Forecasts are given with a sparkle in their eyes, but in words they are extremely careful. Laboratory tests should confirm or deny how justified their expectations are. The conclusion is almost finished - we are waiting for the end of April. (** remember peeps this article was posted on 3rd of March 2020**)
