Hope2. Don’t disagree with your comments but most of those problems were with us before the virus. The virus just exacerbated the problem. The sooner we can eradicate it the sooner we can get back and solve the problems you raised.
Hi Ian, we have to have balance, my very deep concern is that there will be an unprecedented increase in anxiety and depression, people already on the edge will be pushed over it, people are now being denied actual physical human contact outside of your own home, if you live alone you get zero. There will be incredible strain placed on troubled relationships and even the commons is concerned about an escalation of domestic violence. Older people need exercise more than the young especially once arthritis sets in, I speak from personal experience, swimming was one of the few forms of exercise I could do. If we are not careful the fallout from all this could dwarf the effects of the actual virus. If you have a big garden, not so bad, if you are stuck in a tower block with young children, well you can imagine the stress. Provided people keep a good distance from one another when they are outside, which everyone in my neighbourhood is doing, then great, if plonkers gather in groups, not good. I want a society left to enjoy when EUA finally comes good. Stay safe, keep as fit as you can. Cheers and the very best to all at this strange and slightly scarey time
If I may, we never see mould spores, but they are all the time in the air we breathe and can lie dormant until the right conditions of moisture allow them to multiply as in a bathroom, they are 4 to 5 microns in size, the Corona virus smallest particles are 0.06 microns, and the largest are 0.14 microns in size and are just a simple DNA strand with a coating, If it gets into you the host it mutates your existing cells and replicates itself, and as you are now infectitus and cough you emit thousands of new virus particles. You could have also come into contact with some Corona virus particles and be carrying them around on your clothes etc, without you having injested any and so you are well but still carrying the virus about you, if you now bumped into somebody you may shed the virus molecules onto their clothes, we think that the virus can stay viable for up to 12 hours on cardboard and 4 days on stainles steel. I feel the governments are changing the rules as they go as they find more out about this new virus. It already appears that a dust type mask is as useless as a chocolate teapot as I believe it was stated on the news that 5000 nursing staff in Italy have contracted the virus and they have been using normal surgical masks, the only sure way is a full hazmat suit. So the only thing the governments can say to us as citizens to protect us against this deadly virus is to stay at home, and if you have to go out, stay at least 2m apart so you do not cross contaminate one another. Just my thoughts and understanding.
Also you may go out and make contact with someone who has ignored advice and has the virus and pass it to you. Symptoms will not show for about seven days but you will be infecting others etc etc and ad Infiniti’s. That’s why we need to heed the advice.
Sorry Jester you are completely misguided in your observations. It is the actions of selfish morons who are putting at risk many thousands of people. For the sake of the nation PLEASE advise everybody you know to follow the Government guidance. I have self isolated for 22 days and have 12 weeks to go. PLEASE PLEASE take notice and do the right thing.
Hi Jester, apparently you can be a carrier of the virus and have NO symptoms at all and you yourself may never get sick, but others may, and that is exactly the problem we have where people THINK they are OK and go on outside spreading this virus to others, and why the government is saying stay at home, it is going to cost you and me as taxpayers a lot of money to repay the cost for all this self-isolation and associated cash handouts, the world is now in recession and with luck, it can be turned around, but, only if people self isolate and stop the spread, It is not a public holiday as some seem to think..just my view..
"More than 100,000 people have been caught defying Italy’s lockdown and fined "
And in Toronto -
" At a press conference on Saturday, Toronto Fire Chief Matthew Pegg announced the fines for those that violate provincial orders: up to $100,000 and one-year imprisonment for individuals; up to $500,000 and one-year imprisonment for a director or officer of a corporation; and up to $10 million for a corporation "
If fines of that magnitude do not help to enforce the rules, what will..
Everyone's going mad if your out and about and you have no symptoms in other words ill what's the issue the only ones that will spoil it is people who have the symptoms and are walking about in the open air not quarantining themselves but you'll soon spot them theyll be coughing like mad one of the first symptoms. At the moment people who I know and that's a lot of people havent got it and havent heard of anyone who's got it I hope it stays that way. People need to get out and walk about otherwise theyll go insane. People have to go to supermarket do you seriously think you can adopt social distancing... the girl at checkout is not 2 mtrs away.. gla
Disease, apols again. In south birmingham it's like a post apocalyptic world, shopping centres deserted, roads very quiet. People complient. If there are small pockets of idiots then be tough on them but dont punish an entire nation. Back to Eua, really hope we get some kind of update soon.
Morning Hope, I do agree with you, But, unfortunately, some idiots yesterday, because the sun came out all congregated in Southend high st, even though most of the shops where shut, and then on mass went for a walk along the seafront... These are the people who will spoil it for everyone by not observing the virtual rules and the government may have to intervene and enforce a total lockdown...
Arrested???. Just for being outside?. Do you know what prolonged isolation can do to people who are already anxious. I hardly see anyone now, I ho gor a walk for physical and mental health reasons people dont come anywhere near me and I give anyone a wide berth. Non ones spreading decease if they observe simple protocols, but to criminalise someone in the manner you are suggesting is a frightening idea.
