This is what happens when you move to the wrong side of the Pennines.
Peckham, I defected to the North over 20 years ago. Got the dialect nailed now although still not happy with the getting 2 cups of tea out of one bag thing… still, the views are nice..
Power restored at 0300 Sunday morning.
Some people are still out. No water now also.
Aberdeenshire.
Some areas with small forests flattened.
Pity we couldn't get some of that wind in to the sails and get us a end result.
I'm thankful for the power cut because my recently delivered Russian bride has been becoming ever more sceptical of my reasons for her not getting to visit my castle. The "i'm fixing the drawbridge" excuse was wearing a bit thin.
Now that a big tree has been blown over and completely destroyed my castle I am very happy, and hopefully she will console me and not take the first flight back to Moscow.
1987 was a naughty one :(
Take Septic Lil for a night out to Velvet Mermaids Bar & Grill

We’ve just been to the Ivy Asia for my girl’s 50th. £261 it cost me. I need EUA to deliver.
I went out for pie and mash double double...that put 10k on me!
To answer an earlier poster, most people on here I think are from a place called the north. Ive found them quite friendly.
Sometimes they use a special coded language, the word grafting is an example and means laid back.
SO I’m told....
I was out for a 10k earlier and there are blown over trees everywhere, passed a blown over 40mph sign and an over head electric cable which had someone sat in a car stopping people driving down the road and the area coned off.
There are some people who have had no power now for 50hrs and are being told it won't be back on until 20:00 tomorrow. Destruction everywhere.
The workers must be struggling, i presume it's health and safety stopping them from working in the dark and in high winds that is causing the prolonged blackout for some. There's been a lot of road clearing going on, must be the council lads out clearing the roads of trees, signs, touring caravans etc. Just a lot of destruction and hard work for many at the minute, i've never seen this amount of blown over trees from a storm it's quite the eye opener!

Hope that everyone is all OK and any damage they have suffered is not too bad and soon gets back to normal
Nice of you Pete to think about the workers that have to deal with all this situation, I used to be on call a few years ago and having to go out to work when it’s heavy snow/wind is not the best but glad I don’t have to now
And even better when this lands
Hawk, palm trees still gently rocking in the breeze here in Norwich too. Sorry for those that took the full brunt of the storm, it’s not nice when everything goes off too. I do however spare a thought for the grafters out in the bitter cold trying to getting things fixed and working again.
ATB Pete
Don't know where you lot live, but haven't seen anything like that here. Must be very lucky.
Wow K7erg, that is a long time to be without power. I hope you're holding up well in it all, you realise how much you depend on certain things during these types of situations.
My social media feeds are full of blown over trees, smashed fences, things which have blown into their garden (trampolines, sheds, touring caravans), smashed walls, smashed roofs which have lead to smashed cars etc. It's caused a hell of an amount of damage in some places. I just hope everyone is ok, material things can be fixed or replaced, it's the people in amongst all the carnage that you wonder if they've managed to come out unscathed in times like this.
Stay safe, all the best to you!

Still off here. From 1641 yesterday. They plan to have it back on 1800 tomorrow. ??
Power back on here too Mac after 18 hours without.
Third world problem in the grand scheme but the extra wader layer helped somewhat with an extra couple of rums that I note the TG group are championing tonight. Maybe the stars are aligning!
