A very positive outcome that will set a precident for gassification planning and almost no opposition. With incineration now almost impossible to get planning for and most plants being phased out in time gassification is well suited to fill some of the void. Definately Eqtec are onto a global winner and they just need to ensure they get access to the money they need to roll these plants out at scale as it does appear the big money has not yet reached the doors of Eqtec. That i hope will change post Cop26 as Eqtec needs to speed up converting its pipeline, as much as 100 serious projects and start to make decent steps towards its billion pound market cap that just seems a waiting game really, possibly 2-5 years depending on the weather :)
Aputure, thanks for the update. Whilst I rarely post on this bb, I do read every post (likewise on Telegram) and despite the ludicrous efforts of some ill informed and frankly daft scaremongers, I continue to hold. An opinion, not advice, but there’s no drama here. Cheers.
Deeside - On my count, 12 approved, 3 abstained and 1 was against (the person representing the chap who thinks Eqtec's plant is an incinerator; so discounting that ignorant person, there would've been no-one against it. Very good explanation by Gary, the member of the council who was in charge of this application as he highlighted the fact that 4000 fewer trucks would be on the roads as a result of this scheme and that this was an advanced, cleaner energy from waste technology, distinct from incineration that would produce negligible emissions. It was interesting listening to it as many of the councillors tried to sow a seed of doubt about emissions and transport but all the concerns were dealt with by Gary.
Deeside has just been approved by the Flintshire planning committee.
Aputure, cheers. We might get official confirmation tomorrow. If, as it looks, planning is granted.
I will be listening in on the Deeside decision; the only complaint is by one person who erroneously conflates incineration with gasification...given that all the information was provided to the councillors in advance, it is most likely a deliberate act; I can't see it having any bearing on proceedings. Their gasification plant will be sited in an industrial area located adjacent to an incineration plant that is larger than the one Eqtec are proposing.
As the planning application for Deeside will almost certainly be approved this week, here's a link to info gathered together about the project,

More to come for all projects...
When a council recommends planning 95% of the time it will go that way so its almost a given. There would need to be a massively well organised group to overturn that position. I am expecting several more project closes in nexr few weeks to keep track on the £15m revenue that DP seems confident on and potentially a maiden profit. Could be some good traction if that happens and takes more seriously the future revenue guidelines. Certainly a train you want to be on as we go past COP26. Could be deals lined up just for this period to help Eqtec get some press coverage as a win-win-win strategy that thw government should be paying more attention to.
The Planning Application for Deeside is going before the Flintshire CC Planning Committee at their next meeting on Wednesday 27th October at 1pm.
