As much as I have referred to dividends in the past, I agree with you hitman1a - refinancing those bonds should be a priority.
We seem to have a similar debt level to Thomas Cook. Best to deleverage and forget dividends for a while. Get our ratio reduced from 1.8 to nearer 1 before considering a dividend. But its the interest rates we pay that will also determine when it happens, which will definitely be after some sort of refinance at lower interest rates.
A small 2.5p dividend next year would be fine by me. Would probably double our SP instantly if announced at current level
In other words in 12 months time
2018 Report
At the
end of 2019, the Group expects overall
net debt to EBITDA to be approaching
2x, with the Group intending to operate
between 1x and 2x in the future.
Longer-term development
In the near term, we remain focused on
delivering on our plans to reduce our
debt. We also have the opportunity for
material growth where our portfolio
has significant potential for near-field,
short-cycle development, particularly
at Magnus, PM8/Seligi and Kraken.
After we have reduced our debt to
sustainable levels, and dependent on price
conditions and company performance,
our capital allocation will balance
investment to develop our asset base,
returns to shareholders and the acquisition
of suitable growth opportunities. The
application of our proven capabilities
in enhancing hydrocarbon recovery
from mature and underdeveloped
assets means we are well placed to
pursue long-term sustainable growth.
The Board regularly reassesses the existing dividend policy to ensure that shareholder value is maximised. Any future payment of
dividends is expected to depend on the earnings and financial condition of the Company and such other factors as the Board
considers appropriate.
Haha, thats right!
Dividend H2 next year 100 mill! Debt/EBITDA around 1 by then.
KGB better sell out and find another share without dividend or give dividend away to anonymous Iranian tanker watching assosiation.
Dividends Dividends Dividends ....... I’ve got it bad
:-D
Well Neil, like Kraken already stated their were zero casualties with the previous strike. No one wants casualties, fffs
Neil
We are not here to be nice - we are here to make money - alright!
Well that's the plan anyway.
Gkb, I agree with Pelle on the D question. Regardless of size, it will send a signal that the company has been finally normalised.
Neil, didn’t realise you were so sanctimonious, shame the KSA don’t share your humanitarianism.
Andy.p - no one got hurt on the last bombing, another one won’t matter, Neil I don’t care what you think anyway, your just trolling this bb. Bring on $100 oil for 2020 give us a 100p and dividends end of next year.
Enq need to get back into a position that enables the payment of dividends, then the market cannot ignore us. That can’t come quick enough for me, came on Iran bomb another oil plant. We want higher oil prices $100 will do.
Enquest in any other sector with its debt and profits and furture earnings would have a mcap of around £2b now !!
That's how hated this sector is and normal people being brain washed that the world.does not need oil.
But the fact we will need around 110mbopd in the next 5 years is just ludicrous.
The sector will have its day and will probably over shoot on mcaps and all the silly nonsense that the market does.
And that's reason we are all here because we don't know when that is going to happen ??
But riches will come one day ..
All points I’m in agreement, oil’s stock are just unfashionable to own, hopefully the table will turn and investors will realize the huge profit to be got and all will be forgiven in this dinosaur sector.
Energy stocks have been out of favour for 6/7 years just look at the charts ??
Most have dropped 90% and more and a few gone pop ..
We are all hoping on change in sentiment but it's not going to happen this year .
I agree partly but energy stocks are rapidly becoming unpleasant to hold with all the climate change activists. My kids hate me.
There are worse shares to hold as for example the Whitby miner.I sold mine at a huge loss because with no sensible government or one in waiting each day it is getting nearer to a TCG. At least this is not looking the basket case it appeared so happy to hold... Funny old world
