"you thinking the most logical reasoning is incompetence by the company is frankly the reasoning of a madman."
Everything about AGM has strict rules. If you miss sending out AGM notice and have to move AGM date, this is sure sign of incomptence. Alternatively they did not send out notice since they knew it would not take place 19/5. But then they are incompetent due for a bunch of other reasons.
I agree that **** happens. But it happens alot more to incomptent people. Which Enquest is proving over and over again.
Banana I don't know the reason for the most logical date change,I haven't given one, frankly I don't care, you thinking the most logical reasoning is incompetence by the company is frankly the reasoning of a madman.... You need to have a chat with Spock, hope your not as crazy as your views on this subject matter make you seem ...... I sincerely hope you're just missing the points made by other people on this BB due to translation,if not get help, monkey
NortherMonkey.
Multiple persons on this board have brought up annoucement or deal being the reason. Did not see you call them out on that.
You only have problem with the person pointing out the most obvious and logical reason.
Are you also a Spurs fan? Would explain quite a bit.
What was your logical reason? So many ridicolous reasons being brought up so you please forgive me that I have hard time separating you guys.
Banana I've never said anything about a big deal or announcement, all that stuff is getting muddled up in your head,,,,,your fixation about the AGM being moved is frankly worrying,I've asked my mattress doctor to send over some medication, should arrive by Tuesday...ps if it doesn't arrive on exactly Tuesday it's because sh.t happens and things sometimes get moved to other dates....lol hope you have a fantastic day and relax a little gla monkey
GOPci.
So you do not want to be invested in an incomptent company. But do not care why AGM moved. That defies logic.
Northernmonkey.
Yes, I am ok investing in an incomptent company. My bet is that not even such incomptence that Enquest have shown over and over again, manages to screw up completly with oil over $100. But I would not be surprised.
But to be invested because AGM moved must mean that a big deal or announcement is comming sounds comletly sane to you. Thanks for the laugh. It is nice weather ask your doctor if you can be allowed out of your matress room today.
Hello Monkey - point taken that I wouldn't want to be invested with an incompetent management. I dont really care about the reason why the AGM shifted - that really wont move my investment thesis needle with Enquest. There's a high degree of certainty that I cant make the trip to the AGM, but beyond that, I just need Enquest management to operationally execute and deliver the numbers. I won't be getting emotionally entangled in this like BJ has - doesn't help him/her and certainly not this board.
We'll just need to look forward to the ops update.
Madman alert, madman alert, seems bananajoe is not all there,oh well, at least he's happy investing in an incompetent company lol gla monkey
Ronaron thanks! Received payment for a brooklyn bridge
I also heard there is no need for oil next year. Since you are so gullible better sell your Enquest shares first thing on Monday.
I think most here are missing the point regarding the AGM. They are important as are getting the accounts in on time and signed off. EnQuest has been a stickler for governance since I have been invested and would not have changed the date on a whim or holiday clash etc...
Pelle is closest at 13:42 imo. Throw in the present market turmoil and our uniqueness it wouldn't surprise any of us if another deal wasn't being worked on. The AGM, for whatever reason, was inconveniently timed and it was thought best to rearrange. There is less negativity regarding the sector and we are now going through yet another transition. From being the devil's spawn to a very investible company.
My initial frustration was because it creates speculation and in the oil business that is generally viewd as bad. However, that was in the past and with so little analyst coverage of the sector I am not surprised that it attracted little attention and had little impact. I expect the reason to be good news. I also suspect that JS has left because there was no room for him in the new set-up. All guesswork on my part but AB is not your average CEO.
*You can go bankrupt Two ways "Gradually, then suddenly". That was the view on this sector for many years. The yin and yan means that where there is failure there is also success. We were threatened with insolvency imo in the recent past. So you can make a profit "slowly or suddenly". I think we're heading for a big profit. We haven't seen anything yet. Other sectors are struggling and their PE's and EPS's are showing what happens when the tide goes out.
I expect funds to come under even more pressure to adjust their ESG stance. Governments are already pushing for more production and as Jim Buckee says "Countries trump companies".
Higher.
You have made your point banana. Is it really worth getting your panties in a bunch over? If you are that upset and lost trust as you seem to have then you could always sell??
Chilting.
Does not explain why no proper notice was sent as required by Swedish listing rules.
Or why the would not have informed the market earlier.
Here is the notice from 2021:

I guess an alternative is that the knew AGM would not take place 19/5. Keep it financial calendar and write in AR about the venue and date.
Not sure what of the versions is most incompotent.
its very likely that romaron is correct.
Davos was scheduled to take place in January but was cancelled because of Omicron.
AB always visits Davos.
I disagree banana, the tiresome bit is you moaning on and on about a change of date, even though you don't know the reason for it,give IR an email and find out yourself and stop the constant moaning about it,you told us your view a week ago and keep bringing it up... My glass is always half full , obviously nobody has started pouring yours, gla monkey
Banana - you say incompetence - I agree…Maybe IR or some other back office function screwed up. Things happen. Certainly communication has not been good.
You seem to be assuming that this isolated failure is symptomatic of a company culture of incompetence. I see no evidence for that.
I think you need to get some perspective. The oil is still flowing.
Sipp10.
What is tiresome is to hear one ridiculous "valid" reason after the other.
If you seriously think that the AGM moved so AB can give a better update. Then it looks like i have a whole bunch of buyers for brooklyn bridges.
Please send your checks to
Gullible_sod@gmail.con
The deeds will be in the post after recieving payment.
BTW could you geniouses explain why there was not a proper notice sent out two weeks before the planned AGM?
Or is your logic that they knew more than two weeks before that it was going to be moved, but then just did not care to inform us?
At least in Sweden a proper must be sent out and assume this is valid for Enquest due to being listed in Sweden.
Banana Joe,
You could be right the person tasked with the Sofitel booking may have failed to do so and another booking rearranged for 17th June. If so no big deal. More likely, an AGM in May would have left AB unable to give a report on the Q2 drilling. In mid June he can. What matters for all of us are they gushers or dusters. If the former fill your boots if you think the later then sell sell sell. The issue you raise and you have raised it before is both irritating and tiresome.
