I think I probably side with jolly in terms of market view. However mine is tempered with the thought that if you can find real value, then even if their sp falls - which will not necessarily be the case - the company (ies) in which you are invested will hopefully do two things: 1. Be able to take advantage of any asset price slump, 2. See their sp recover faster and earlier than less valuable businesses. So my targets are either rich in management (EMR is a good example) or have grossly undervalued assets or are seriously undervalued when you strip their cash out. These all provide insurance of one sort or another. Having said which, I am usually very heavily invested and right now I am about 30% in cash and will probably let that rise to 50% if a couple of likely lads come in and I can top slice. But I am very happy here. GLA GS
the multiples are sooo low...and esp rel to comparators ..intrigued what triggered yr sell
Sold out waaaaaay to early again Live and learn I guess Brilliant rise thus far.... Well done jolly et al
tks...haven't changed from "structural bear" stance...asset prices are supported by unsustainably low interest rates...something must give imv...and in most scenarios we have a crash (delayed but not avoided)...I don't see slow transition...once investors smell the change in direction, liquidity preference will be an understatement.. ...but I have been waiting a while, and governments/central banks may wangle a little more time...but time/credibility in the bond markets is running out ...like the road runner cycling mid air ...fun to watch from sofa stashed with dosh ...excitable opinion only, of course
Well done here. Should have bought in but did'nt as usual. Sitting on cash at the moment as a bit nervous of which way the market is headed. Any thoughts?
not quite a boom...but plenty of upside/headroom here imv ...the comparators are v v exciting ...dyor, all
Wow. Impressive rise today!!! And yes herbie, I hear ya! Well done all in!
Not compared to some peers like MTEC, EV/EBIT is 5.99 for EMR, MTEC is 13.2, so even if sp went to 130 it would still be lower?
just going through my watchlist and saw your target..£1.30? would place it at £60M mcap...would make EV/EBIT bit steep no?
would do ...for a start
Yes thanks, I agree about valuation. Not sure about £2 but maybe £1.30?
good spot...that looks about right... ..great comparative for us here (though walters still looks pricey)...if we were rated as them, we would be £2++, no??
check Robert Walters trading statement for rationale here
my thought yesterday was that the sp had been held down for a while by sellers and profit takers...but was itching to rise ...the numbers / outlook support an sp much higher than here (imv/dyor of course) ...so perhaps it is just a case of folk eyeing up emr, wanting to buy on retrace (which never happened) and therefore feeling compelled to buy into this rise (without any need for news) ...I am happy with my 15k exposure (otherwise I too would be buying more lol)
Whats the reason for the sp rise today, can't find any news?
I looked again at the most recent results last night...wondering whether to take more profit...but the numbers and the outlook are just so good ...shd rerate towards £1 imv (p/e slightly above 10 only....on EV/EBIT even cheaper, but the minority interests are difficult to factor in)
but still cheap... imv
to see a big buyer in. Should help move this up.
Still a good rise from 40s area though so imho more gains possible when the sellers clear
keeping the lid on these
steady climb to sensible rating
Should spike from here
Caledonia is now below a notifiable threshold which means: 1. The brakes on the sp should be off 2. Their stock has been bought by someone who thinks the same GLA GS
shd be £1+ on earnings...imv
STILL RISING!
