Cat is out the bag thread started £0.77 , 26th September !
Sp = £0.71. F all difference. Most companies would have at least gone up 5p back to low £0.80's based purely on speculation.
Basically shows nobody has any conviction to invest.
2026-28 before this mine gets built and nobody can say otherswise. Should of been mining by now ...
Still I hang in there by my nails knowing Cinovec is the biggest deposit of lithium in Europe....blah blah blah.
Get me my wheelchair and " take me to the hospital " as the Prodigy once said. Car crash share.
Dave….. definitely off takes part of a bigger jigsaw and all pieces need simultaneous negotiation
Any elected Czech government will want/have to pursue the transition to EV - the motor industry in Czech accounts for more than 9% of GDP, 26% of manufacturing and 24% of Czech exports.
I think the CEZ Group with it's consortium of investors will want to finalise their plans for a Gigafactory in Czech including financial incentives/subsidies from government and the wider European Union BEFORE any off takes are agreed /announced.
Yeah that’s a good point too Iain. I can understand both of our proposed possibilities, and I hope you’re right. I still just wonder though; even if Babs wants the brownie points from creating employment and profit for election currency, if the prospective buyers are scared off the uncertainty of election results, what can he do about it? In any event the only difference between the two scenarios is probably just a fortnight!
Tom, I agree that no company would want to renegotiate with a new government however, the politicians will want their pound of flesh. Investment and job creation is a vote winner, Babis will exploit that.
Majoroak. My 3 European lithium mines all move in same direction at any one time. This includes EMH. Can you explain?
Not forgetting Rubidium at $14720/kg
Recovered from lithium process.
Commodity prices used for the update of the 2017 PFS are unchanged (other than Lithium hydroxide
which was not included in the 2017 PFS) as follows:
• Lithium hydroxide: $12,000/t; Now spot price close to $30,000 a tonne
• Lithium carbonate: $10,000/t : Now spot price close to $30,000 a tonne
• Tin: $22,500/t; Now spot price close to $38,000 a tonne
• Tungsten: $330/MTU; Current price $305 /MTU
• Potassium sulphate: $520/t. Now spot price close to $640 a tonne
For mine it would make sense that, if any deals with CEZ/Geomet/EMH have been made, that the ink wouldn’t hit the page until the election results were announced. Imagine a buyer risking the headache of signing deals with a company (CEZ) whose 70% stakeholder (Czech govt) could literally change entirely in its decision makers within a fortnight. It wouldn’t be the safe play; that’s why I could easily imagine announcements of offtake(s) within a short amount of time after the October 8 elections
Weren't we at £1.00 not long ago ? Seems we are going backwards ? Just looking at the charts.
Chattanooga ....PLL territory. Wink wink. Another company coming from nowhere to DFS in the next 6-8 weeks and production before emh. Yawn. How many more will enter the supply chain before cinovec ?
Note Standard Lithium looking to go to start supply within days AND CEO states EU SUPPLY is being looked at !!! Bet they beat emh cez to supplying at this rate. Plus they will be getting TOP DOLLAR in this very very limited production environment until the bigger mines come on stream in 2025-27.
Iain interesting that Vulcan released production info last night and will be in production by 2024 with LG.
Raising an extra $20m for purchasing even more land parcels , already THE largest Lithium resource now in the EU & have $200m in cash behind them.
Safe place to put your money imho. Czech politics is playing with Cinovec like a football. Literally anything could happen ! Nobody on here can say other. CEZ may be the great saviour and Czech power house BUT coal .... ??? ffs is this not what we are against and why cinovec & the price of lithium has rocketed ? We need to clean up energy use and especially mining !!!
At least Vulcan are a very very very much lower creator of CO2 as it is not actually mining but a chemical process - see latest Standard Lithium CEO remarks regarding rolling out across the USA & EU the licence to modulize lithium collection and supply with a very much lower ( Muskesk attitude to investing in low Carbon footprint operations ).
Anyway, I think Babis is a loose cannon. He will say anything and the opposite will happen once he is in. MoU cancelling back in 2018 example no1. As for the coal ???? Bonkers. Oh do CEZ use coal ? Do they make a lot of money from coal ? Does it employ more people and have a union presence , more so than a new mine may have ?
Just wondering "the bleedin obvious" is that enough Basil Fawlty for you , teehee.
Basil " is this a piece of your brain?" " turn it up" Babis "what". Basil " yooour heeearing aid" Babis " my hearing aid, whats wrong with my hearing aid" Basil " its not working". Babis with a rye smile stroking a cat with his eye patch on... " there is nothing wrong with my hearing aid , its just not switched on" !
Pretty much sums up investing here. For years nothing has happened and the rumour after rumour come and go whilst other companies are smashing it and getting on with the job.
Even CEZ are still looking at how to process the dirt .... STILL ? Yawn.
Evening Major (evening Fawlty!)
Babis is two weeks before an election; he will do or say anything that gets him votes; don't confuse politics for business.
He will back coal (in Poland) if it gets him the mining vote. He will **** Brussels if it wins him the separatist vote. He will back the electric future of vehicles if it wins him the ICE supply sector vote (10% of CR's GDP)..... and he will back the EU on Friday when they promise him all sorts of grants and hand outs
For VW, Skoda, L&G,CEZ etc this is business, they have to make decisions now that will last for 20 rears, not just a 4 year parliament.
Coal is dead !
Long live coal in the EU

"Babis warns the Czechs that if the opposition seizes power after the elections, it will hand it over to Brussels."
Yeah , very pro EU is Mr Babis. Still no VW deal ... wonder why with this kind of shiiiite. What a nob. He is supposed to want to mix East & West ? Will VW really want to part of the ingoing boring commi views ? Guess so hey fingers as VW are in with China ?
Hold on. Are the Czech Rep fully against any Chinese energy association ? Well may be we all look the other way and just ignore the Russian / Chinese involvement that will happen once he gains power says he is jobs for czech and gives the supplies to VW & they whip it off to the factory...never to be seen again lol.

Thanks for the info.
Obviously, should have said ŠKODA AUTO’s headquarters are in Mladá Boleslav.
Of course, CEZ Group already have a very good working relationship with SKODA.
Previously CEZ Group mentioned the grounds of the decommissioned Prunérov 1 power plant located in Kadan (a town in Chomutov District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic) - this is approx 180km from Mladá Boleslav.
https://www.cez.cz/en/media/press-releases/the-first-step-to-towards-the-construction-of-the-gigafactory.-the-mit-and-cez-sign-a-memorandum-147566
Is the location Mlada the same as the one referred to by CEZ/Babis a couple of months ago? Or is it a new location indicating perhaps more than one gigafactory?
This is very promising.
Then again we all know what is coming so more so inevitable.
VW have started on their China plant seems the reporter at Cleantech might know what he is talking about .
https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/volkswagen-vwagy-to-set-up-%24164m-ev-battery-plant-in-hefei-2021-09-24
Volkswagen Group is currently building three new MEB battery manufacturing facilities — this one in China, another in Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic, and a third in the US near its factory in Chattanooga.
152 km away from Cinovec .
