Is there a bid coming? Why this sleeping mini jumping up?
Yes they over promised and under delivering again.
The numbers were not good enough & clearly going south. We are promised shareholder value on every RNS it never materialises. Time for change via a new Bod or new owners. Stagnation is clearly the strategy, without growth or dividends. Shameful indeed.
Shame on the Bod. Zero value for shareholders. Take the next offer if reasonable & move on. You can’t get the S.P to £2.00. Stop telling S.Hs otherwise, unethical.
Seems on balance positive.
I think a take-over is on the cards again. Just been going through the last months trades and there have been some hefty volumes going through, Could it be that something is taking a position? I do hope so, I've been holding this for ever and would be nice to see a good return.
no way funkytalk... when the automotive talc situ improves this share will re-rate and or we'll see more takeover interest. i think you are out way to soon...
I sold out but made a good return. Now to watch the down turn come by April. Or so I hope.. lol
I think we need a new Board of Directors to clean out the dead wood and manage the Net Contribution Margins. Costs seems to be spiralling and reducing profits. Sorry for the negative vibe.
Broadly neutral imv.
Not heard anything but the BOD would likely reject any reasonable offer, like they did last time on the basis they would create more shareholder value. Fortunately no one will believe them this time around !!!
Has anyone heard anything about a fresh approach from Minerals Technologies Inc? If so, at what price?
agreed £2.00 would be closer to true value...
Seems fair price to me now left with the best growth drivers of the business.Debt will get to the 1.5 target a lot quicker dividends may resume after that point but I’m really invested here as I don’t think they will stay independent if the price stays at this depressed level.good luck all
Looks to me like the sale is at bargain basement price.
Quite a spike in volume this late morning. It could of course be a pump and dump but it's a relatively low profile share... I haven't found any recent news online though.
A tiny teeny little bit more of info here:

I'm struggling to assess the credibility of the Betaville-originated rumour, as subsequently reported here 9 days ago:
https://seekingalpha.com/news/3908204-elementis-may-be-seeing-takeover-interest-report
I'm aware of the two successive offer in H1 2021, the last (rejected) one being £160 per share, but I can't assess what would have a(nother) possible purchaser change its mind and go back to the buying booth - the weakened pound?
Doubled my holding today I see recovery and growth here looking forward to the decision on the unit they want to sell could seriously help bring debt down to target and speed up return to dividends.
I think they are doing all the right things. As the debt goes down, the equity value will get released. Not sure anyone could have planned for a pandemic, a war and runaway inflation. Not too surprised that it is a little harder (and therefore slower) than they expected in their strategic planning.
Solid and good news considering the economic woes atm.
Sometimes CEOs are too greedy and think they are best since sliced bread. GSK, THG come to mind. There are few others but haven't revealed their hand. All these cos have one thing in common; their sp has fallen over 40%
When are we going to see an update as they off-load chrome division will the shares be going up or will an other offer come in before
I think it’s on Tuesday. There are details for an online presentation on their website.
Thought it was today
