I agree, and think we are pretty much on the same page.
When trying to work out where this is going, as previously posted, imo you have to look at the facts as we understand them including what company the have and what the company are doing. You can’t just pluck totally unrelated ideas out of the air. Logically you could equally say you think they are going to turn coal into gas (gasification) or liquid (liquefaction). Fuels produced by coal-to-liquids are cleaner than petroleum etc etc, or they might become a supplier of sustainable rain powered ice cubes!. ...
Edenville is a Fully Licensed Coal Miner, if, a not very successful one. They have 173mt of coal which is the absolute minimum proven figure, which from memory doesn’t encompass the collective 27 sq. ml of the Licensed coalfields.
Everybody has an opinion, mine is based solely on what we have and what we know, which could be totally wrong and sos could be spot on, as in fairness although he has never offered a single piece of factual research in the last decade, he did guess there was going to be a Placing!.

Aerial, I thought SoS's post needed an opposite view.
The summing up on your post covers the importance of EDL's location and current status. The talk of rare earth metals could be sometime on the future.
Regardless what some posters claim coal is still important to Edl that being their only means of income currently. We don't know if Helium is on the agenda, if it is it would explain the confidence NvS has in increasing the MCAP mirroring ARC min.
The new president seems to be making a point of being business friendly making things simpler for companies to deal with the gov. I'm expecting the next update to be substantial hopefully sooner rather than later.

Selling up is now a very serious possibility, but when previously discussed with the bod (AGM c. 2014/15) they did say it is a consideration, but at the time there were no buyers.
Unless we are way way off the mark what Edenville have or hold imho is key.
Why would these new Major Investors Invest in Edenville if their aim is to move on?(as in away) why would they not Invest elsewhere in a company that is already doing what they intend!?. ...
*Tanzanian helium discovery comes as the world faces shortages of the gas, which has critical applications in industry, scientific research, and medicine.
* Helium One expects to be producing helium from Tanzania by the end of 2020, a few months before the world's main supplier, the U.S. government, ceases to supply the gas from the Federal Helium Reserve in Texas.
Helium Rift Valley Limited have eleventh Prospecting Licences sitting Application Recommended, but NOT a single Active Mining Licence AND YET their MCap is:
£118 millions. ...

Manhattan Island New York and Guernsey the Channel Island are both smaller in area than Edenville’s current Licensed area. ...
Edenville currently have one Full Licence, three Prospecting Licences one of which is pending renewal, all of which are for Minerals/Energy, Metallic and Kimberlitic Diamonds.
We know Tanzanian Mining Licences are renewable, and would imagine/hope the use is convertible, but if not I’m sure the company are well positioned to get additional licenses if required.
Obviously the Company’s direction is supposition based loosely on what we know. ...

The concentration of Helium in the Rift valley is the result of a volcanic process, no hydrocarbons unlike other discoveries that have low concentrations mixed with natural gas.
Prospecting similar rock formations as the Rift, could result in further Helium discoveries globally.
Rukwa I believe has the richest source of Helium.
I can't see NvS ignoring such an opportunity.
It would also explain the enthusiastic support for the recent fund raise.
Of course I could be way off the mark and we could be selling up and moving out.
I think it’s reasonable to suggest that whatever direction the Company take “Outside Coal” will be akin to the current Tanzanian licensed area. Edenville’s assets, the Fully Licensed coalfields and 173mt of coal is everything that the Company have, AND it’s all within the Rukwa Rift Valley.
Personally I don’t think they are looking to mine other minerals or elsewhere as they are clearly not very good at it, and imho it’s unlikely any of these new Major Investors would be Investing in Edenville’s ability per se to mine coal. SO logically they must be looking at what Edenville HAVE and NOT what Edenville do,...although the coal operation must help!.
If you have a licensed area of c. 27 sq ml at the exact location (the Rukwa Rift Valley) of one of the world's largest helium gas fields, where the underground 1.53 billion cubic meters of Helium reserve ($3.5 billions) discovered is over six times the world's current supply of Helium, WHY would you be looking elsewhere?...
I don’t think it’s rocket science, but hey ho I could be wrong !!
