Im looking to go in a mini spending spree on some AIM miners- have ECR, Oriole and a few others on my radar. This stock was around 3.3 last time i looked so it seems a bargain but makes me wonder why it crashed.
CB, is that Colin Bird? Please tell me not!
Exactly, and like you say, the market will catch up.
These results will just compliment one another (hopefully). Once you can demonstrate the consistancy on a regular basis, you begin to build up a resource, in 18 months your looking at Pit optimization and mining permits, and the volume will go Parabolic. It's building up that story now and making sure it's nothing but progress along the way, no matter how big or small
I remember seeing 2 holes at Orosur mining recently, both "NSI" (No significant intersection). They were sandwiched in-between high grade assays. A little underwhelming but someone politely explained on that board, even though they returned no mineralisatio, they clearly demonstrated the paramters of the deposit and where it ended. This then helps the company follow up and concentrate on infill drilling, rather than extension drilling
Point being, every set of assays, in some way, should paint a picture for us and develop the story, we just need to hit the Gold on a regular basis to take the story to the next stage
Very positive for me at this price, but I'm not surprised a number of investors have certain reservations when it comes to ECR
Spot on AG1989 in that assessment. It's the results that matter (and more than the market reaction). The market will catch up eventually if the results merit it doing so. As long as we have something in these results that explains and gives credence to the excitement of the interviews, and which excitement we can then share, that's really the minimum requirement.
BTW - I am expecting them to be decent results - that doesn't necessarily mean high grades and thickness (but they might) - but results that at least show real promise and potential of such in the future.
As has been said a company is more than just the CEO, but the CEO is the figure head who has to publicly take responsibility/credit for any outcome.
CB does like to raise his head above the parapet more than most with bold claims, which does make him an even bigger target to shoot down if things don't go as we are lead to expect, or make him a hero charging to our rescue if things go well.
Each drill result will be another bullet to shoot down one side or the other, we just have to wait and see whose gun they fit!
Yeah i agree with that LW. the comments surrounding "2 mines - bailleston & Creswick", "subsequent holes at Creswick look like the DMS", Top 10 mining company JV comments
Then the following week release negative news
Has he got himself a little excited again? Possibly, I don't know the results but its clear the SP isn't going anywhere until the results pour in. He mentioned the XRF on numerous occasions which picks up mineralization in excess of 3g/t is it?
With good results, I'm expecting the market to react well, but if it doesn't initially, that's fine. All I'm focused on from these Creswick holes, DELIVER DELIVER DELIVER. Anything in the realm of 9g/t or even closer to that 80g/t back in 2019, strengthens our arm and demonstrates further to the JV, the prospectively involved.
I hope it's not all hot air and empty promises again. Difference this time, your not chasing the SP up to 3p/4p. It's stayed where it is and definitely gave me and a number of others a chance to top up
Nothing is a certain, but with ongoing drilling at 2 100% owned projects, I can't see this dropping much below the current market cap
Absolutely right AG1989. Credit where it is due. The results will put the CB issue to bed, or bring it all back in an ugly way. His credibility rests on them IMO. You see, in my book, there's a BIG BIG difference between:
1) Disappointing results where there has been no ramping by the CEO, and
2) The CEO decides to go on a ramp just before releasing disappointing results - which results HE KNOWS ABOUT when he goes on the ramp in the first place.
CB didn't have to ramp, he chose to - and that is important. Take ORR for example, you don't see or hear TL engaging in this kind of ramping (and TL might even have even better results than CB!!!)
So for me, CB has made himself a target by conducting the interviews he has. Not for the first time as well..
Don't get me wrong, invested heavily here, and hoping/wishing and indeed expecting really good results. But fully prepared to call a spade a spade at the same time.
By the way, I'm not "pro Craig Brown", I'm just focusing on the company and as CEO, the book to me, stops with him, good or bad
It's total *******s
When GGP saw its day in the spotlight GH got all the credit in the world, he'll have had his fair share of help
If we "hit the jackpot" here, its absolutely no different. It's a company thing and CB gets his fair share of the plaudits.
You can't hang him out to dry when the going gets tough, but bypass his plaudits when the company is going well
I'm guessing when the company start delivering the results/licenses and JV's and the rewards come, you'll equally allocate that towards the CEO then?
Fair is fair. Can't have it both ways
Not sure we can be "over the CB fiasco" just yet folks. To do that, we will also needs results IMO. Put another way, if the results do not live up to the hype/billing given to them by CB (and now the GEO) in recent interviews, you can bet your bottom dollars and pounds (well, what will be left of them) that the "CB fiasco" will return on this bb with a vengeance.
We can't have a CEO ramping on interviews, and then escape 'scrutiny' if the results don't match the hype.
hahah That response was from me. Come back from my lunch in work and my LSE has created an account called "Holywellmag" or somebody has been on my computer
crazy
Same here Winnieh. Trying to focus on the company itself and how its attacking both projects and I'm encouraged. I believe we have a strong 12 months ahead, both developing the projects and growth of the company, and returns to shareholders
Winnieh. No. 45%, your talking nearly £14m wiped off the market cap. There’s a high % of retail investment in ECR and it took a lot of us by surprise.
Maybe a small percent but not 45.
The facts are, we were at this price back in November. Our market cap jumped over 100% when the Victoria state border opened and we deployed Midas to Bailleston. A time when we hadn’t released official assays to the market in over 12 months. No chance you can sustain such a rise without providing the goods and reporting assays. No chance.
Not surprised in the slightest this pulled back
I didn’t necessarily expect today’s SP but I expected a pullback. And from the current position with our budget I believe we are very well set up.
Let's hope we are discussing (RNS) drilling results from next week. If they are good, which we hope and expect from the interview that they are, then we should be looking forward to a much higher share price....
Usually when there is a placing winnie the broker goes to market a couple of weeks prior , so yes there would have been forward selling and shorting of the share going on so it is likely that they were sold before we were informed of the placing and then pressure is put on to take it down further.
Some will still be short but they are future buyers. Normally the next thing is that the ones who hold the warrants (placees) will want the share price at least 6p before they exercise their warrants (which are also normally forward sold before the market is informed .
Upside of the warrants is that there is a share placing at a pre determined price which puts money in ECR's coffers , from memory it's 45 million at 3.75.
I've been on this bb since the start of the year. Overall, I have to say that it is one of the best. You get a full range of views aired on here, and people don't hold back. If you had a breakdown of topics that have been discussed in recent months, CB and his credibility would top the list. He continues to be discussed. I don't there are many cheerleaders for him on here?
Where I think most of us have arrived at on the CB topic, is to almost by-pass him and focus instead on the results.
The results are what most people are focussed on IMO. That's not ignoring CB, but our way of dealing with the issue?
kdonkey - You don't have to be positive 24/7 to invest in a company, your adding a balanced approach which is always needed on these boards. I just think, regardless of yesterdays interview, from this position I'd say the company is in a strong position
I just picked up on the comment about the placing being " a disaster" and it's something i disagree with. This was the downfall of ECR and the loss of "sentiment".
The placing was announced on 9th April, a date to which the share price had already retracted 45% from it's Highs of over 4p. the communication in that period wasn't the best and needed targeting. But the placing left us with nearly £6m in the bank and with or without it, the SP would have retracted to what it is today, until we start delivering good, solid assay reports which show a healthy resource building up
jtbear....I am pleasantly surprised i haven't been hammered....not like some other boards when I've been negative.
I like this board, as there are some very informative people who have taught me alot, not just on ECR, but on gold mining investing and what to look for.
My only issue is nearly everyone is extremely positive and I am not. Don't get me wrong, I hope this comes good. But I do tend to err on the side of caution and the share price is showing, I am right to be concerned.
But we do have a lot of news coming over the next few months. Lets hope we see some great results....
Mistakes, but i think we're pretty well set up from this point (imo)
Fully financed. Wrong choice of words to use knowing he could take the placing. However that fundraising was taken at a price 20-30% premium to the price it is today and left us with close to £6m in the bank - Happy with this
Creswick JV - His wording at times made it seem that the JV was a definite and could have been announced at any given time. Although i would have liked the JV finalized by now, if his plan works out and ECR land one of the top 10 mining companies on far more favorable rates, even better
He's the CEO. Some like to relinquish some and all responsibility that he actually holds with ECR. It's not a company with many staff employed under its name. The fair share of decision making on many fronts will come through him, as it does with many AIM listed companies. But he will have the likes of Adam Jones and other Geologists pointing and pulling him in certain directions with new prospects to target. And rightfully so, it's what they'll have been employed to do
I think some miss the point that Craig is allowed to get excited too AG , realizing his dream of hitting another gold mine good for him we are all allowed to dream but he is in the right place at the right time to realise it and has far far more information in front of him (and discussions ) than we do.
We all make mistakes and learn by them and it is time to move on .
If they are genuinely excited then I am excited too (doesn't happen often lol) but never ever comfortable with any investment I make , wary but quite bullish.
" there are many more drill results to come to give an incredible return."
That's a given to me, and will the company will need to work a lot more beyond the current Bailleston & Creswick campaigns for "an incredible return". But i'm not in a rush so that's fine
Why is everyone so directed at CB? He gets hired and fired like everyone else so ultimately he is not in control of what happens, really. As said recently I'm comfortable enough knowing that we now have enough cash to drill for at least a year so I still see plenty of upside, there are many more drill results to come to give an incredible return.
People use the "I'm still very anxious and wary of CB". But from RNS to RNS, there's nothing informative we can take in so when the CEO finds time to speak to the market, i sit up and listen and make my own judgment
Having Adam Jones there was a nice touch. Very useful finding out yesterday that they're encouraged by some of the subsequent holes at Creswick and Adam in particular is excited to report them to the market. All signs indicating that they've hit the Dimocks main shale in numerous holes and the cherry tree campaign is going well. Encouraging initial results from Holes 5,6,7 at HR3 also.
Far more information than I'm getting from other investments and enough for me to top up on. Are we guaranteed positive results? Absolute not but the signs are aligning for me.
Everyones different and will review yesterdays interview in a different shade of specs. I'm far more encouraged and positive with the growth and future ECR has now, than i was 6 months ago topping up over 4p. Trust him or not, the company are clearly motoring on and doing everything in their power to try and generate good value at both projects
SnipVW - I think the GEO said a lot more than that to be fair. He was very positive himself throughout the interview but did not engage in any ramping or spin but talked very much in geo terms. If anything, he was probably understating matters for CB's liking, who was interjecting and putting the positive layman's take on it all. In fact, the 'will there be a mine question?' looked like it had put the GEO on the spot. He certainly did not have a rehearsed or ready made answer for it IMO.
