Any update on her position?
According to her noon report she is still over Jethro. She either moved and came back or perhaps 'Marine Traffic' isn't worth much.
The position in upper right hand corner matches what I last posted in respect to degrees and minutes. The previous position was different , the difference noix calculated in kilometres.
See image, which is current as of now

It's still on Jethro and stationary
Sorry, that s/h read ~ 37 klicks.
noix, Tullow's 'Jethro-1 Well Result' report, Slide 4, would suggest Jethro-1 and Joe are ~ 27 klicks apart. This is very rough and those slides are illustrative at best but do the change in co-ordinates correspond roughly to that distance.
Marine Traffic Data reports Midnight Position of Stena Forth unchanged from the co-ordinates reported for her Noon Time Position yesterday. Midnight Position report time was 2019-08-18 03:38 UTC, her speed at the time .1 knots.
Can we assume she has stopped over Joe drill site?
Ah your 10.58 post makes sense now. I've just had a look at marine traffic and it is in deed a world wide service via subscription. That's why you are only getting the April fix. However, I do believe you can register and have a 7 days free trial
for one vessel only, so you might want to give that a try but remember to cancel it within 7 days :)
Hi Diversified,
I really don't know. I've done quite a bit of research on the Orinduik block but I haven't extended that to the drill locations. I don't know where Starvin got his coords from but I'm sure he will be happy to disclose the source. Presumably the two drill locations will be found in the Marine movements announcements, which has been linked on the board previously. There will also be some such service for ships positions. In the N.Sea we use marinetraffic.com but I don't know if their service extends out of Europe. As I said, if you get hold of some coords, then I am only too happy to help with the distances if required :)
Hi Noix,
That’s fair enough Noix, so bottom line, am I right in thinking the Stena Forth drill location isn’t being disclosed? I am confused!! I appreciate any help so thank you.
morning Diversified
I haven't got any live access to anything with regards to the Stena Forth or the drill locations. I merely answered a query from Stravin and gave him the distances between the coordinates that he provided.
If needed I can and am very happy to do the same for any other poster :)
Morning guys, I assume you guys pay the subscription for live access, thus why any information I can find on its location dates back to April?
Any further update is on its location? From arrival, how quickly can they Spud if the rig and crew are hot?
No, the seconds will not change much. It's the degrees and minutes that translate into distance.
She's currently, against those new co-ords, 11.629 nm from the drilling location.
Her noon position … Long 08 08 46.17 Lat 057 16 40.22
Is that a significant change in terms of miles?
UTC is currently 11:47, there should be a new report issued soon but I may not be home.
If you get any changed co ordinates post them up and I'll give you the precise Stena Forth position with respect to the drill location.
Thank you, I only surmised that she had moved but didn't know how far.
Thanks for that.
Against those coords, the drilling location was 11.638 nautical miles or 21.554 kms from the Stena Forth at midnight yeaterday, in a WNW direction.
Position Lat/Lon: 8.14616° / -57.27784° , the position of drill location.
Her speed at midnight was just .2 knots. Not much but then they aren't going far. Could this be due to their not needing to secure everything like they would for a transatlantic voyage at greater speeds?
Starvin
Have you got the coordinates for noon yesterday please.
Stena Forth Midnight Position: N 08 08' 44.99" - W 57 16' 40.18"
I'm a landlubber but I'd say she has moved since her noon position yesterday.
I can’t find it’s live location, does this suggest that due to the sensitivity of its position the drillship location is not updated?
I find it hard to believe as this would be dangerous surely?
