Well Dunsford, that's put your 2 theories to bed. The technology is the best out there..it's undisputed..just adding covid to an already established product. Regarding conversations with Governments..you're aware of NDA's etc. Just give GB and the team the time to get everything in place...they're dealing world wide with markets that dwarf the U.K...
Dunsford, I think you may be unaware of what tendering to central government involves.

“In fairness, these projects have been underway since June and a whole process of tenders, bids and consortia take time to agree their respective parts. If done faster many mistakes are made and then always someone is needed to be blamed.“
This is how the CEO responds to criticism that a HMG has been slow to test sewage.
:)
Toon, MWG got too involved in big long term projects that didn't deliver returns but took up huge resources. Gb has refocused them to more short term achievable and higher volume product offerings.
Dunsford ............. third possibility is bound to NDA's
Dunsford - fair and reasoned comments. A long standing criticism of MWG was the failure to commercialise its technology and some posters still refer to that historical failing. I think we have moved on significantly since those days and we are a proactive, dynamic collaborative on the cusp of massive commercialisation of its tech'. Many water companies will have water monitoring contracts and as such may have to move to #DVRG to obtain our technology. Escape clauses from existing contracts are often difficult to interpret and even harder to implement. As new specifications are written, to include real-time monitoring (because that will be the gold standard), more contracts will come our way. I guess there is some initial capital investment required to accommodate our testing equipment, but short term pain for long-term gain. People are rightly wary of new technology and will watch and wait before committing to investment. I agree, getting the word out there with credible examples is paramount, hence the Great Lakes contract was massive for us, and will be the first of many. The snowball effect certainly applies here. Very upbeat and positive about what we are trying/going to achieve.
I’m not bothered by the UK and our inept gov. There is a big wide world out there and we’ve already secured a deal in the US and I imagine more to follow and we have a decent footprint in China. This is proven tech (ecoli) and years in development so once validated will be rolled out with 3,000 existing units and no doubt the Chinese will be ordering more and the UK will probably follow.
Stu
I like your analogy and on the face of it, if we believe in our tech then you would be 100% right.
I do have concerns though
1) I find it difficult to believe that if our tech was as accurate in detecting localised outbreaks via sewage in real time then the Government would not be aware of it. I can only conclude, therefore that they have looked at our tech and found sufficient fault/challenges with our product that they don't wish to pursue it
2) Second scenario is that they are not aware of our tech. If that is the case, then its a damning reflection of our sales force capability to articulate the benefits of our proposition in front of the people that matter in Government
I 'm a LTH and believe there are sufficient product lines within our newly formed company to justify holding for longer. Nonetheless, on the sewage monitoring for Covid, something just doesn't smell right (excuse the pun)
Do you have to LOG on to take a sample?
I agree, they would be so much better using our Microtox sampling system which is real time. When you read that they will sample 4 or 5 times per week it seems to be such a wast of resources and the quality of the data will be nowhere near as accurate as real time.
I would love to hear Gerry's view on this and to be reassured that Deepverge / Modern Water are at least knocking the door, phoning, emailing the people who are running this testing program to remind them of our capabilities.
StuoftheToon............!
I can see a scene from "Mary Poopins" the movie.......... :()
All the best (oh dear, sorry............ just off nights :()
Toon, must be a shyte job too...-:)
There is something archaic about having to take sewage samples by lifting a manhole cover and physically taking a sample. It is akin to sending a child up a chimney to clean it in Victorian times. #DVRG can help!!
